Takete has arrived
79,90 Euro in the German appstore for the full version. Hhmmm...Heavy price tag, isn't it?
Comments
This is because the indie developer doesn't know how to price it right! He wants to sell you $40 on discount, so He puts it on tag $80!
For me, $15 is my judgement to be fair! I am not video guy, that flikering even hurting my eyes by flashing!
Yup in the UK too at £59.99 however there is a free version, not sure how many people will go for the paid version
uff, that's a smashing price. It was a must buy, but now I'll settle with lite to get acquainted...
At that price it better be doubleplusgood?
The free version doesn't do much. I would have loved to play with Takete but with that price I'm out.
Oh, Dear! can not open Lite version at first touch! Crap! No way I trust it!
The price is to help pay for all the lawsuits for inducing seizures.
79,99€ in the French AppStore... Definitely too much.
Looks like he ripped off the UI from the flux fx app..
Developer:
I was visiting your FB everyday for last 30 days! I was willing to give you a chance for you to show off! But now, you don't give us a chance to buy and fun with it? Is this Takete too outstanding technology? no way! Why don't you let go your optimism, why not slowly to price your way up by allowing people think of your worthness? There is no way one step to heaven just because your standard is high!
So please, price your app correctly!
it does look interesting but at this price will probably not appeal to a larger audience ...
It's quite nicely designed but I'm not sure I'd pay more than £10 for this.
In my view the iOS platform still isn't ready for that kind of software pricing, one day when the software/hardware is more advanced maybe.
I've only had a quick go on it but the video looks way too compressed for professional use unless you are able to import better footage.
Next contestant please! Pass on this without a doubt! I was not overly impressed even before seeing the price. Not even interested if the price was a quarter of that crazy intro.
you can import your own footage apparently but without being able to test that and see how the performance is ... it is a bit risky even for those willing to spend a lot of money on such an app
Bit of a pity, I was interested in this for the music side only.. But $100 is a bit steep for this for me. Will still try the lite version and if it's incredible I might get it, but there isn't an app yet that has impressed me enough for $100.
I hope it goes well for the dev but I don't see a lot of sales at this price point, and when/if he does drop the price the early adopters are going to feel burnt.
I would pay this for ableton live or reason on iPad, or twisted tools a-layer, or even fxpansion geist.. But yeah if this app compares to any of them then I will consider it.
Waiting for modstep now
On the plus side, if this sells well it could draw some bigger players into the app market.
I see that besides Takete, this dev has 2 other apps. One was last updated in Oct 2013, and the other in Aug 2012. If I get to spend $80 on an app, I'd want to be sure it would get periodic updates, at the very least to keep up with iOS and new hardware.
Dev is Jonathan Papert. His other apps are both music apps: Bucephalus and S.709. I'm curious if any one here has any comments on the dev or his other apps. Without some very positive testimonials in the dev's favor, I would think after some months this could become yet another piece of abandonware, and a very expensive one.
Not much chance of this selling well. Bigger players already reside in ios land and even they do not charge anything like this.
Poor choice on about every level of the sales and marketing decision tree before we even speak of the app. Foot shot.
Weak, I fear it will be too cpu heavy. just a guess. I mean apps need to consider their cpu usage right
Yeah true.. Cubasis for example
Well just tried the lite version.. Wasn't able to even really look at anything as all the editing options are unavailable! The video froze in the background too. Very disappointed, guess I'll wait for the soundtestroom demo?
The most expensive app in the appstore .mx
"iVIP Black" is 999,99€ (i think the limit in the app store) ;D
This app is cheap
The Different Drummer app started at $300, was at $50 for a bit, jumped around and is currently $12.99.
I know Nothing first hand of Takete (or Different Drummer for that matter) and perhaps Takete is worth the asking price(?) - But it's also possible that the public will dictate the apps worth to the developer over time should both parties stay connected.
I'm shocked and so disappointed ! I was waiting for this app SO much. Not for the visual but for the audio side. I wasn't expect it would be the best audio app but it was a good start for what I need and hoping for great update. The price is unbelievable ! I've tried the Lite version, plays more than 5 audio clips at the same time and when I wanted to switch to Instrument or Mixer, the sound dropped all the time.
BUMMER !
has the dev spoken up anywhere in response?
Here's the YouTube for it for those that haven't seen it...
And a basic functionality vid...
Mmmmmm.....shock and awe!
but has the dev responded to the chatter about the price anywhere?
