  • Apparently the dev is active on his FB page. I don't do FB; if anyone here wants to, I think he can be easily reached there:
    https://www.facebook.com/refinedstochastic

Caution: don't watch the videos if you don't want to be tempted!

  • I did post on his Facebook page about my disappointment concerning price. I also was awaiting this App, but will not buy it at this price..., waiting for the DD-correctment mentioned above..

  • one of the main problems with "pro" iPad apps with "pro" prices is that iOS has been so unreliable -- this 80 $ app may or may not work with iOS 9. If it doesn't work it might get fixed. Or not because Apple has changed something that the developer can't work around.

It is also possible that this app is not fully finished and the high price is a protection from bad reviews by casual purchasers. I've seen this strategy before.

Seems i don't understand the app because i get not that awe feeling. The lite version i tryed doesn't do any special (and sound way to clicky when add or remove sounds). I would like to see a really expanded video tutorial.
I have the feeling after watching the video clips a ghost will catch me in seven days :O

  • If you note that the video has edit cuts as well, it's not continuous.

I just have a feeling of an overhyped thing again (seems a common thing lately). Maybe i'm wrong. All i can say is that i don't would buy it from what i see and hear in the lite version and from the videos. I would have no problem to pay this price for a good app but not in this case.

  • 7 loopers, some fx, a grain interpreter, just some video effects, You ask me $80, I dunno!

  • Ok, my facebook-comment on his page is gone. I think this really isn't looking good. We don't wanna have people discuss the pricing? Well hopefully the developer is going to realise how f***d up this looks..., you know, I do like to spread positive opinions about Apps, but it should also be possible to question some decisions, shouldn't it?
    Well, here's to hoping...

  • I commented the pricing strategy on his facebook account, too. It's gone... I invited him to visit this thread.

This behaviour certainly does not inspire trust, by the state of the demo, the asking price and the fact that IOS apps need regular updates......this developer needs to gain some trust and respect first.

this app really looks professional.seems very interesting.is it worth the price? i should own the app to answer this question.but it looks like it could be the case.you often ask for more professional music apps....maybe that's the case here...and the price goes with it..only a thought before sleepin.good night.

@Flo26 could be right... 79,99 € is scary at first glance, but we need to wait for early adopters to tell us the "truth" about this app. I think so because I was about to start collecting the Fabfilters, and... Wow ! even on "sale" they ARE expensive too ! I was about to buy Timeless 2 + Saturn + Volcano 2 + Pro Q + Pro C = 81 € !!!! On "sale" !... And nobody seem to think that it is expensive because FabFilters are known to sound good... So perhaps Takete could worth it's price too ?... Anyway, I let others try :-D

  • You go first. Heheh. Not on my account however, I already have no intention what so ever . Nothing indicates this is any where near worth the ammount being asked. Fab filters have a track record, this, eh, not too much, in fact so far we have heard nothing good about it actually .

Fabfilters like the Microwarmer were known to be good apps long before the ipad was even invented.

I know... I started music with Cubase 2 on an Atari 520 ST ;)
Still, for iOS apps, Fabfilters are way more expensive than what we're used to pay for music apps, espacially when theses Fabfilters are to be used within Auria which isn't the cheapest app too. I can't manage to obtain the same sound quality on my ipad as I do on my desktop (whatever the apps I use), that's why I think that the "Auria environment" is quite pricey and (perhaps) overrated...

  • @Gratouilli: That's 5 proven great plugins for about the same amount as Takete...

The main attraction of iOS apps, for me,is the convenience of using a small and mobile device and price.

As a hobbyist I simply cannot afford to pay 'desktop prices'. I can just about afford BIAS:FX for iPad but never the desktop version, even if that does sound a bit better...

The Takete pricing seems rather silly for an unproven app with an as yet unknown support level...I think this dev is shooting himself in the foot, at a (much) lower price it would be taken up very fast, a STR video would already be available, and the general excitement would have brought more revenue even at a lower pricepoint.

Yes, I totally agree... I just wanted to say (as @Flo26 said) that, perhaps, Takete worth the asked price... But, as it comes from "nowhere known", it will be very difficult for its dev to find its audience...

Still, regarding Fabfilters, for iOS apps (espacially "Auria only" plug-ins), I find the "on sale" price a bit scary ;)

  • I'm suprised the dev hasn't given the str a promo code, it would help everyone evaluate if this plugin is worth the $$

  • wouldn't you know it, takete has follow actions!

  • @kobamoto said:

Where did you see that? I asked the developer on the Facebook page and he said it doesn't have follow actions.

  • i watched the editing video and it has trigger macros that trigger other clips, I took that to mean follow actions?

  • That's interesting, strange why he didn't mention that...

  • maybe he misunderstood or maybe that part of the editing video means something else but I can't think what else it could be.... they do have some issues about communicating about the app it seems.

  • Had a look, yes seems to have basic automation at least which is good, would like a demo of it running though. There's also quite a useful video of the developer talking about the app on his YouTube channel.

Thing is I'd prefer to do video and music separately although I like the option. I could do it on a laptop and have more control. I think he should start at a lower price and have in app purchases for video and more features.

    He deleted comments on Facebook.
Comments are disabled in his video Takete-Origins on Youtube .
He simulates an interview where he talks to the wall instead of talking to us

I was until I saw the price. And when he deleted my comment on Facebook ... pfff.... tough shit !

  • Just tested the lite version with Vt and sound and I got some choppy sound when fading in video clips.....on Air 2. So it's not ready for live performance yet...another reason it's start price should be lower before ironing out initial issues.

I asked him on fb if he was planning to put out an audio only app for a lower price and he said no.

Maybe he'll put the ability in the app to switch off the video and have a sale?
