TouchOSC or Lemur?

    I favor TouchOSC because integrations are available for a lot of desktop apps, incl. OBS, TouchDesigner, Resolume, Reaper, Synthesizer, Ableton, MAX, etc.

    Option 1: Jailbreak your device and install the tools to archive the app as an ipa file
    Option 2: Use an iDevice manager like iMazing or others that can retrieve past purchases on your iTunes account.

    Apple provide no official way of getting such apps back, that's a huge disadvantage of the Apple ecosystem.

    I've used both, 1 for saving previous Lemur versions and Option 2 for getting the last AppStore version (which was a little buggy by the way!)

    I think iMazing is only able to retrieve the .ipa of apps that are still in your purchased items. I think Lemur is gone from there, so this may not work.

    The trick with iMazing is to get the backup before an app leaves the App Store purchased items list. Maybe you can back it up from a device that already has Lemur on it, but I think I read somewhere that isn't how it works. It would be great if you can though.

    @wim No, it definitely worked in maybe 5 or 6 cases here when the app had already been removed from Appstore purchase history.

    The only reason why you wouldn't be able to get it back (afaik) is that you hadn't ever purchased the app 😉

    Another nice app that I was able to retrieve is Stroke Machine - remember?
