Fair point. I totally get where you are coming from, I have explained it in the past but not recently.
There’s several reasons I share other types of apps.
Music makers need a variety of apps to make things happen. Whether it’s notes, photos, videos, utilities, graphics, etc.. they are all important to help with the other side of music. Making social profiles, keeping track of things, jotting ideas, cover art, YouTube, manage your device, live performance, visuals, etc… these can be used in daily life, for fun, or to help musicians with all the other things that go along with music making. Even more so if someone is making money from their music endeavors.
Also In my experience a lot of creatives tend to dabble in more than one medium. Music is obviously first for me, like many here, but there are also artists, photographers, etc… in here. I like photography, graphic design, been learning to paint, heck I’m basically interested in any creative art form to some degree.
Basically if I see an app on sale that I think could be useful, fun, helpful, or interesting, to the people involved in this forum, I share it.
If it’s free I’m a little more lenient with the curation since it’s a freebie.
This is an oversimplification of my thought process but I hope it makes sense. Cheers.
PS. I tried doing 2/3 separate threads, one for music, one for the others, a few years back but it became unmanageable, so it all got condensed into one.

My friend, I have the beginnings of arthritis in both my thumbs, and somehow I manage to scroll past the stuff I’m not interested in without too much pain. I bet you can too.

I see this as a communal effort. I obviously maintain/contribute/host the thread yearly, but Anyone is allowed to share an app sale. I want the information to be shared, so as many people as possible are able to take advantage of a discounted app price. The discussion part is also open, I’d personally prefer a bit more streamlined experience, but didn’t want to leave small discussion out. it’s intended to be focused on discussing the apps that are on sale… some questions/comments/information about the app, using it, whatever. sometimes it strays a bit. Which is totally fine, and completely natural. If a particular discussion gets long maybe the topic warrants its own thread. it keeps the scrolling amount down for those who just want to see the sales/freebies.
Honestly… The thread has a life of its own… lol.
Yes it could be better, I’ve even tried multiple threads in an effort to separate the sales, make it more concise, but it was too much work. Ultimately it’s just passing on potentially helpful sale information to the people in this community.

Yea, well said @yellow_eyez you never know what’s gonna happen with sales and app pricing. I’ve downloaded some amazing apps for music or otherwise completely free, or quite cheap. Just like any other product or service, discounts are a way to help grow business, add customers, spread the word, etc… That’s really how all this started. I was already an app deal hunter, I loved this forum, people were friendly and helpful, answering my questions, providing advice, so I thought why not give back a little and share some of these finds.
I think we just need a second meta thread that we can link to if anybody wants to debate this thread.
