There is also an ‘Iridium plugin’ beta program on Waldorf website. Who knows, maybe one day…

Where does it say that? There is a beta programme for hardware Iridium & Quantum firmware updates, as there has been for years, are you sure you dont just mean that?

OK, guys. What does this offer over the 8 billion other iPad synth apps that I own? Sell it to me!

I don't think you understand the impact it can have on your life when you tell someone you own a Blofeld!!! Not knowing your situation, let's focus on me. I can't wait to tell my wife when she gets home. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say I'm pretty sure this guy is getting lucky tonight. And for accuracy, it's not luck, it's the Blofeld. Try it, you'll be amazed. And if maybe something goes wrong, (probably your delivery as the Blofeld can't be the issue) at least you will have a BLOFELD!

  • Indeed. I've not had any time or energy left to even try the thing out since my wife looked over my shoulder and saw me using it.

    Hmm… I wonder why it’s glitchy?

I think it's pretty safe to say that this Blofeld will Blofeld away all other Blofelds.

It works ok on my iPad 9th gen. I won't be running a bunch of instances, but I never did see why people need all the instances of synths they say they do.

  • I wish there was a minimum processor requirement listed for apps , not just minimum iOS version!

Me neither, as we have this:

  • Another instant buy. I said I wasn’t going to buy more synths. Oh well.

Regularly crashing in AUM on M4 iPad Pro.

Same here when i save a session and reload it, blofeld is crashing. Anyway, i think it will be fixed soon. Such a great synth! Now i am waiting for AUv3 for Nave!

  • I open the app on the init preset. Then I try to change the octave setting in the Oscillators section, and then immediately run into problems. The app is not accepting the valid value I enter using text input, it instead chooses another value. If I instead scroll the different options, I can hear what they sound like, but when I actually press ‘confirm’, the app once again does not respect the value I entered, but instead chooses another value. This is definitely broken for me. Do others get the same?

Tried in NovoNotes Siderack. The app won’t even open !

Yes. Funny enough, it seems to work if you press cancel instead of confirm...

The Blofeld could be considered as a classic synth, almost like a Juno or any other Hardware synth from the last 40 years.

I"m always wary when something is advertised as "classic".... often a case of the well-used marketing trick of referring to anything old as being "classic".

Even stuff that was pretty lousy back then (and, as a result, not very popular) gets resurrected today and touted as "classic".

Case in point: a lot of the 2nd rate, "classic" tracks you find on "Northern Soul" compilation albums.

It’s not advertised as „classic“. I am just saying it could be considered as a classic synth. The Microwave also is classic in its own terms. A Juno 60 or TB303 is „more“ classic as they have a very recognizable sound. The Blofeld has a unique character but I am not capable of identifying this synth in a track…
But looking at its capabilities and features packed into the small desktop unit, it’s pretty amazing.

In these on buggyness i also think it’s more unresponsive / glitchy than the Microwave.

Apparently the name historically originates in Norfolk, England.

Feld is Germanic in origin but then again Inglis is a German language offshoot, my city used to go by the name Shethfeld and a nearby village Escafeld.

  • Same issue as @Gavinski here. Really unresponsive. Especially the left and right arrows on the preset selection window. Often taking 6 or 7 presses before anything happens. And in multi mode, the on/off buttons are the same….iPad pro 5th gen, running OS 18.2. Hope this gets ironed out in an update soon.

On my 11" M1 iPadPro (iPadOS 18.4.1) using stand-one or AUv3 of Blofeld I have no issues with responsiveness of preset arrows nor the multi-mode buttons.

There's no midi-out so the on-screen keyboard/play-surface is mostly redundant and could be hidden.

As for numerical entry I usually press return on the on-screen keyboard to commit and change the value so the cancel / confirm dialogue feels quite redundant as well.

I've not had any issues with recalling sessions using multiple instances of Blofeld.

    Cheers!

  • This one can load user wave tables I hope?

I think the app is just really glitchy. at least for me. I guess updating to iOS 18 would help.

Same here. I would have bought this immediately if I had a newer device. The 6th Gen is being phased out since you can’t go to iOS 18. Have a newer phone but that doesn’t help in this particular case.
