    Is the Iwavestation auv3 yet?

    Sadly, no...

Even more sadly, Korg appear to have back-pedalled on the suggestion that all their synths would eventually be AUV3. Realities of the market i guess - I certainly don't blame Korg whose support for iOS music has been unwavering.

    FabFilter Pro-Q 4 on sale!

    Down from $29.99 to $19.99

    😳

And with that, I take my first steps into Fab Filter...

So far what I really love is the multiple instances can be viewed in one window, then collision detection between different instances being viewable in one location is such a nice feature, that and the the cpu usage just being so low, and attack and release per band is just so minty.

The multiple instance is that include the ones on other tracks ? What is collision detection ?

I typically use TB Equalizer 4 and I still will because of the ability to dial in transient, sustain, and release easily and the many, many, filters it provides. Probably will be at end of chain more than likely on my projects (assuming there’s no audio issues I’m not thinking of)

But for $20 to dive in and check out a plugin company that’s ubiquitous in this music making industry, kind of hard to not just get it and see.

First FabFilter plugin for me, won’t be the last. 🤘🏽

Throw an instance of ProQ 4 onto each track

Open one instance, click the little button in the middle at the bottom of the visualizer window

And you can scroll thru ALL instances in one window. And any tracks currently playing that have phasing issues will show red in their respective previews, wherever issues are found

You can also add nodes to any of those previews and it effects the individual instances

VERY interesting workflow shift... But quite intuitive

Yeah. I was hoping for imono/poly and ims-20 to get the auv3 treatment

Why’s he still selling Digistix 1 when 2 has been out for years? That’s odd.

When placing Pro-Q 4 on several channels, after pressing that little c button on the left I circled, it will detect clashing sounds that aren’t fitting into the mix. Basically a way to avoid a muddy mix as I understand it.

From that multiple instance screen I posted, you can adjust any of the other instances of pro-q 4 right from one popup window. Without having to open up the other one. Really nice feature.

Don’t think renaming them is available, I tried double tapping and didn’t seem to allow it. But for $20 I ain’t complaining.

I’ve had several hours with it in Loopy Pro and Drambo and it’s really nice. No crashes. No funky stuff. Didn’t see large jumps on CPU or high usage of it at all. On the right of Drambo you can see the CPU usage there. Two dots not even half way to full and I’m using several plugins

    • 9 instances of Pro-Q 4
    • Battalion
    • UA Silo
    • UA Needlepoint
    • SploshBOX

Also the project itself is using 8 subtracks to send midi to battalion and 8 audio out channels processing audio in separate tracks for battalions channels.

No science to this and I use a lot of premade or self created Drambo instruments but thought that might help. Loopy Pro was similar usage. Around 49%

Hm. Wonder if it would better to do this during the mixing stage vs production. I should play with that idea.

I do know that all the user presets from DS1 were automatically merged into DS2. I’m pretty sure they share certain info. So while you can still get 1, I think it’s mostly maintained for users who purchased and used DS1 then purchased and now use DS2. It helped ease the transition when purchasing the new version 2. I had a bunch of user kits in DS1 so it definitely helped when I upgraded. There probably a few reasons, but I think that is, at least in part, maybe why DS1 has kept going after DS2 release. I am speculating, just thought it was relevant to the conversation.
