I think I’ve asked this before but with the ApeSoft sale I gotta ask again… what’s the difference between iDensity and IPulsaret ?

get them both, the sales are rare and absolutely love them. don't sleep on STRIA, it's also AUV3, comes with generative and instrument via AU.

i think idensity w/stria is a great combo to try first, as some folks complain that idensity and ipulsaret are too similar. i disagree however. More like cousins, opposed to a sibling.

i'm trying to decide on ape matrix, ivcs3, and ape filter. i cant find anything on ape filter tho. As for Ape Matrix... everything i've read says to use it w/AUM... so i dunno. ivcs3 is a pass for me atm, as I read that there are fundamental IAP's needed which changes expectations somewhat

iDensity can have a lot of wavs being granulated at the same time and is more focused on automation and making soundscapes. iPulsaret only have one wav at a time, but can also generate waveforms by its own for granulation and is focused on being able to play your waves like an instrument. Both are really great and different enough to have both!

Thank you! I have IPulsaret already but was curious about idensity…been debating it for a bit

I was reading the same things about AUM usage. And after watching some tutorial vids (thanks Doug!) I came to the conclusion that apematrix basically does what AUM does with a different UI. Sure, the built in lfo stuff is rad, but can also be done with the lfo apps i already own. So after months of waiting for it to go on sale, I passed.

At the current price, I’d say go for it! It is a pretty crazy and unique app!

IVCS3 is absolutely one of my favourite synths. An extraordinary achievement and currently a bargain.

Sounds like I’m in the minority on ApeSoft. I’ve had IVCS3 on my wishlist for a while.

How are you liking it? Can't decide if I want ape matrix or not- but did find some good ivcs3 patches. Link in description.

I haven’t gotten it. I’m hesitant with purchasing anything ApeSoft since I feel I got burned on ApeMatrix (no multi-out despite being advertised and unstable auv3 hosting) and ApeMatrix feeling a bit obtuse usage wise.

Have you tried reaching out to the dev?

If not maybe do so - https://www.apesoft.it/info/

If enough people mention the issues I’m sure they’ll be resolved or sorted either way. I’ve mentioned something about FabFilter plugins not working and I believe @Slush has, though I didn’t mention multiout but will do so now.

EDIT - Took 2 minutes to send. Editing to add the time difference. Might say 3 but I’m typing this now lol

iVCS3 is such a weird and unique beast! I'd buy it again anytime. Whether you buy the sound bank IAPs or get your hands dirty and make your own sounds is up to you. I did both and enjoyed it.

I think apeMatrix might replace AUM as my go-to on my iPhone, because of the fact that the entire matrix is viewable on the iPhone screen (well, half of it is and you scroll down to see the other half), whereas in AUM you can only see one channel at a time. For me that’s a really big deal. I’ve always kinda thought of my iPhone workflow as like a notepad version of my iPad workflow, but I realize now they should be totally different things.

The other big advantage apematrix has, of course, is that its modulation system, being built in, is hi res. That means no stepping when doing things like filter sweeps or other types of pitch modulations. For most tasks, 3rd party LFOs in AUM will suffice, but for pitch control in particular, inbuilt modulation is way better.
