Whew! Someone else sees it! I’m not crazy 🤪
Maybe it’s in the manual and I missed it. Maybe it’s an Easter egg.
Who cares, it’s fun and I’m gonna go play more!
Is it possible in Octachron to hold a note. If I pair it with Relic Flow for example?
Thanks for replying about this! There's one other addition that, if it came with the below, would make it a real modulating dream for me: some control over 'slope' of the CC value jump between steps, like an option of a more gradual ramp between values than just a sharp step jump.
Octachron makes a great FX sequencer, I've been using each track to send CC to a different send (adding splashes of reverb/delay) or insert effect (some bitcrush on a fill every 4 bars etc).
No, I don’t think so. Or has anyone an idea?
Ok thx, we will think about this 😊
If you have mozaic, might be able to find a “hold the note” script on patchstorage and put it in between octachron and your audio source. Worth a shot! StreamByter might have one too
https://patchstorage.com/latch-and-switch/
This should work. There is also a Latch module in Drambo.
Thanks guys, will check this out! In the meantime, I've fallen back to Koala, which takes a bit more time setting up, but gives more flexibility. I might check out the script as I feel Octachron would give more immediacy!
---- don't mind me, just updated and my problem was solved
I never got octachron workung
With some apps it doe work so I know how to do it with midi settings session 1, background audio etc
All the bram bos apps work fine. Mv08 works and sunriser synth.
Beyond that not one preset works. No sound
The presets just determine the MIDI notes sent for each track. The should work for the indicated apps. You can check the notes being sent with a MIDI monitor.
It sounds like you're working with the standalone version? Have you tried using it in a host? Midi routing is simpler that way, and if you're using all AUv3 plugins you don't have to bother with background audio, etc.
Oh. I just read that you're using Network Session? That's most likely the problem. A lot of apps can't make use of the network midi session even though it shows as an option.
@TasTax I’m experiencing a bug with the song mode. It repeats sections when it shouldn’t. For example, if I have two sections, each set to repeat twice, I get randomly a third or fourth repetition on some sections. Example:
A way to link all or only the selected steps together to show they are one long midi note as opposed to several individual midi notes would be super cool for several reasons. you could hold down a single note to trigger a sample player pad that is set on trigger or loop and not just one shot.
A “tie notes” switch like in the Xynthesizer sequencer might be sufficient. So when tie notes is on, all notes that are in succession are tied together as one, when tie notes is off all notes are individual.
Love this! I’ll often have like a snare roll or something I created with multiple hits that I don’t want on every play through. Being able to apply probability to the whole roll sequence instead of each trigger and hoping for the best would be dope.
(Does anyone know if this is possible like in Xynthesizr with another drum sequencer? Possibly a “drambo does that!” situation? I guess I could always fanagle Xynthesizr into being a drum seq)
Heyhey @timfromtheborder ,
Oh yes I see. But I tried and actually I don’t have this problem.
Which set up do you have? Device? iOS and do you use a DAW?
And does anybody else experience that?
Thx and best greetings from Munich 🙂
Tas
Oh yes, nice idea. We will think about that! 🙂
Not related, but as I see you are around @TasTax , would be nice to expose the "trigger" parameter for each track. It's an easy way "animate" the drums and I'd love to be able to control that with a knob outside of octachron (the move X parameter could also be exposed, but less important for me)
I’m using it inside Loopy Pro. Ipad Air M1. I will see if I can reproduce it reliably.
Unfortunately, sometimes when using Octachron in Drambo my patterns don't get saved. Might be, because it's older projects and I updated things in the process. Still, this is very annoying and makes me not wanting to use Octachron anymore... (iPad Pro , everything up to date)
I experience some weird behavior when using Octachron in Drambo. I started noticing this when I tried to sequence some Korg Gadget drummachines, where Octachron gave me sometimes a ratchet kind of behavior on hats. This weekend I bought Bram Bos Ruismaker FM and now I get sometimes that the kick sounds loud on one step, just like when you set the velocity high on just one step. It kind of happens randomly and just once every minute or so.
Octachron is working smoothly for me in Drambo. But I think I may remember something like this happening some time back. At the time I was battling some stupid iOS problem where buffers would be set to a weird amount like 160 or 191. Maybe it's worth a quick check just to be sure Drambo is working at a reasonable buffer size.
That's a good tip Wim, I will take a look at that and see if it solves the issues, thanks!
I’m also getting problems with the trigger condition. Like if I set a note to play on 1/4, it triggers on 1 and 2, and then every 4 but starting on the 2 instead of the 1. Something weird is happening with the sync I guess.
Thanks, but what do you mean exactly by "expose"? Would you like to Control it from Outside via Midi?
Yes!
And Yes, we will have a Look after this issues. if Something changes, please let us know !
ok thx, we will think about it ☺️
Ok, thx, but the song mode and trigger condition issues only happen inside Loopy or also somewhere else?
I was having a similar issue in AUM. I was using Octachron with Harmonicc and the two kept getting out of sync. I’d have Octachron set to something like 4 bars for a pattern and 8 bars for the next in song mode but it kept adding 2 bars at the end of a few sections. It should’ve been lined up with Harmonicc but kept lagging behind due to this.
I’m on an M2 iPad Pro 12.9” and up to date with everything.
