  • I bought a Chocolate Plus, about a month ago. Bought it on a whim, after seeing "Midi Controller Cheap!
Haven't gotten around to setting it up yet Plan on using it in conjunction with Roland G-800 key'bd, 4 ch Mixer
on a 2021 iPad Pro 9, updated iPad with latest upgrades .

Just haven't figured out how I want to use it yet.. But... I'm thinking about maybe using it for key'bd voicings.

I bought the KingB software on recommendation here, but have Piano voicings on the G-800 along with
a great many more instruments from horns to pads. I'll also want to get Rhodes software.
So it's no quick and easy path.....
Also have my eye on "Midi Wrench" .
Still have not decided on a drum pad/ sequencer either.
These will have to wait as I'm on a fixed income.

    But first things first.

Most hosts have the ability to change plugin presets in response to midi messages from a pedal like the Chocolate Plus. With only four switches you're kind of limited in the number of voice changes that you could do in any one session.

Before spending money on Midi Wrench, you might want to mention what you need it for. If only for midi monitoring, there are free apps out there. If for monitoring and routing, a host can take care of most of that.

  • Sorry to intrude, But with no background, I'm confused at the proliferation of Abbreviations used here.
Is there a page where all these are explained?? I googled AUM and got a financial report...WTF???

There's no glossary that would help you out in all cases. You'll get quick answers here if you ask. Better than beating your head against the wall.

AUM is an iOS/iPadOS app that serves as a mixer and plugin host. It's the actual name of the app, though the name itself is an acronym ( think for Audio Unit Mixer, but I'm not sure).

    https://apps.apple.com/app/aum-audio-mixer/id1055636344

btw (By The Way 😉) if you happen to know that something is an app, I find that following the name of the app or developer with "iOS App Store" in the search string usually hits the mark the first try. You could go to the App Store itself, but often its own search is dumb as a rock.

But the pain is such comfort... AND... it reinforces the idea that rocks are smarter than I am !!! :#
Hmm I thought Loopy Pro was also a mixer, and a plug in host....Why would anyone need another?
See!! Rocks beat me out..... again! :(

    Show them rocks up!
kind of like a patient that sees a new drug, on the TV, and demands the doctor Rx it , without knowing a thing 'bout it

That's how many of us have practically bankrupted ourselves here. 😉
