Man...after watching Doug's video on the Blofeld, man I really hope they do go on sale. I missed the intro sales for these amazing Synths.
Sorry for replying to an old post, but did these issues ever get fixed, and is it working in GarageBand now?
Blofeld definitely has a 'scroll/pan widget', it's green in the same place as Microwaves red one.
I was mainly referring to the GarageBand performance…but then I remembered not only the updates made after the original post, but also how personally a lot of issues I had with various apps for fixed after I upgraded to iOS 26 and then updated GarageBand to the current version.
I saw some negative posts about Blofeld on Facebook the other day and it made me hold off buying it for now , but if it’s stable these days then I’m in
Personally I've had no issues with Blofeld. The UI could use some usability tweaks for sure but it is what it is.
Not the most fun synth to tweak but it has a very nice sound at least to my ears.

Blofeld is awful in my GB (iPad mini A17). It hangs the entire UI every time it changes preset and for about 30-40 seconds when a project containing Blofeld is loaded. Tested just now and still the same. Pretty much unusable since purchase/release imho. Would not recommend.
Depends on the iPad I guess as I've had no severe issues with it on the 11" M1 iPadPro, iPadOS26.2...
Mine's running 18.7.2 so possibly OS related. I might schedule the risk of updating it at some point to see.
@Waldemar
U affiliated with Waldorf?😎

iPad A16 running 26.2…. Do you think I should be ok?
I can't guarantee anything but that iPad has 6GB of Ram so at least in theory it should be OK...
Awesome possum…might grab it tonight finally lol
I just got mine now. Prepping for Jamuary 2026, and I'll probably do this in Cubasis 3. Not sure yet.
I have the same iPad and iPadOS version, and I do have a strange UI issue with both Blofeld and Microwave 1, both from Waldorf. If either app is used in an AUv3 window, the UI knobs in the rightmost part of the window tend to flip to their maximum or minimum values with the slightest up or down finger movement. Examples are the Uni Detune knob in Blofeld and the Filt Env knob in Microwave 1. The problems appear with the AUM and Cubasis hosts (I haven't tried others). There are two workarounds, both odd:
1. If you immediately drag left from such a knob (not just a little bit to the left, but maybe a few inches), then you can do a fine up and down drag.
2. If you resize the AUv3 window to occupy no more than 2/3 of the screen width, the problem goes away. This is easily done in AUM. In Cubasis you can't resize just the AUV3 window, so you have to go into Windowed Apps mode and resize the entire Cubasis window to about 2/3 of the screen width.
Has anybody else seen this, especially @Samu?
I’ve not seen that happen!?
Some apps can behave a bit weirdly when the display is set to use ‘more space’.
Thanks, but I forgot to mention that I had tried turning "more space" off. I also tried rotating the screen 180 degrees, turning Zoom off, and turning the Assistive Touch button off, but none of those helped. Rotating the screen 90 degrees to portrait mode does prevent the problem, since that limits the width of the AUv3 window. I also forgot to mention that no other apps have this problem, but both of these Waldorf apps do, and that the problem appeared only after I updated from iPadOS 18 to iPadOS 26.2. I have not tried reinstalling the apps.
Even though this seems to affect only Waldorf apps, I suspect Apple messed something up again in the behavior of some API. This appeared only with iPadOS 26, which made big changes to the windowing behavior of the OS.
Frequent underlying changes make for an unstable platform. We're lucky to have so many developers willing to spend their time chasing the changes.
As mentioned I've not personally had any issues with either app...
You could try sending an e-mail to Waldorf Support and see how they react?

Right. I see this also. On my iPad 6, iPadOS 17.7.10, running Blofeld in AUM, controls adjust smoothly, anywhere on the screen. On the newer iPad Air 11" M2, iPadOS 26.2, controls on the left side of the screen work normally, those on the right have very high gain. They seem to travel full-scale in the height of the screen object.
Now, you can touch a control and slide sideways, while maintaining control. If I tap, then move to the left of the divider between Glide and Amp in the pic, the control adjusts normally. Conversely, if I tap a control on the left, and drag to the right of that boundary, the control gain jumps up.
This does appear to be related to iPadOS 26. However, it may also depend on the screen shape. Most iPads continue with the 3:4 form factor from the original iPad. But the 10.5" and 11" screens are slightly wider; my 11" is 3:4.32. Is your device an 11"?
@Samu . Could you try this on your 11"?
What I've noticed is that it's kinda same behavior as the classic Thor used to have but it doesn't draw a line to the parameter being adjusted.
Ie. tap'n'hold on a controller/knob slide/move your finger away from it, the longer away from the controller you are the finer the vertical movement will adjusting the parameter.
Try this with for example the AMP know which is very fast when directly moving up and down, tap'n'hold on it move to the left quite a bit and then move your finger vertically for very fine adjustment.
Here's a messy video-clip of it...

As mentioned personally I've got no issues with the Waldorf apps as I've gotten used to them by now
But Yes, there is a difference between how the knobs work in stand-alone and the AUv3.
(I've sent a support e-mail to Waldorf about he knob-behavior difference between the AUv3 and Stand-Alone)
(I now have a support ticket so within 3-5 days things should start to clear up a bit).
I'd suggest everyone who has issues with the Waldorf apps to send in a support request...

Personally I'm happy with all of them!
I have reported this, as you suggest.
After some further testing, it appears there are only 2 gain values, the normal one on the left, and the extremely high one on the right. The boundary for the transition is the screen height (157 mm for my 11") measured from the left edge of the window containing the app. Hard to explain why the screen dimension is being used in a window, or why the vertical dimension is being applied horizontally, but there it is. If the window is narrower than 157 mm, all controls behave normally.
Goodie! Then they should have at least two reports to dig into!
It's actually all the knobs on the right side of the UI (LFO and Arp Timing etc.) that have this 'acceleration' thing going in the AUv3 on but only in landscape mode, flip the iPad to portrait mode and it just works regardless of the window size
The stand-alone of both Blofeld and Microwave 1 work as expected. Streichfett had no issues in the AUv3 with the knobs.
I'm quite sure they will be addressing the issues in the coming week (I'll keep an eye on my support ticket).
Much thanks for your help, @Samu and @uncledave. I've sent my bug report to Waldorf support as well.
So I was gifted this by a dear friend and it works wonderfully in standalone . Alas as an AU I can only play one note and it freezes . Emailed Waldorf .
That’s very strange, Blofeld is one of my most used synt and I never had that problem. What is the host and how is it being played?
GarageBand. It happens immediately upon load. iPad a16 iOS 26.2
I don’t even have GarageBand installed. Cubasis and ApeMatrix user here.
Just tested it in Logic Pro and it’s working perfectly fine…so issue is with GarageBand and Blofeld
Send a bug-report to Waldorf, they should be back at the office now
Sent the email on Friday but I knew with it being the weekend I wasn’t going to hear anything back yet …I’m just relieved it’s not a device compatibility issue!
