  • Sequencer is a fantastic update, congratulations! 🥳 But the most important feature in Tekno should be a little bit larger than it currently is. 😉

It’s most definitely bigger than that but I won’t post any screenshots as it’s not out yet :sunglasses:

@tristan is there a list by any chance of the things the iOS version can't do that the desktop version can do? Are there iOS ways to do all the shortcut commands etc? What about drag and drop, and so on? Cheers

    This.

  • As far as I know Drag'n'Drop (to export samples etc.) is pretty tricky on iOS/iPadOS as not too many (if any) hosts fully support it and dragging stuff out from a sandboxed AUv3 also requires a fairly recent iOS version and since many are scared to death of keeping their devices up-to-date I think it's something that will come if it ever comes.

I'm surprised no one hasn't yet asked for Ableton Link which is something I think should be included...

Yeah I was wondering that ... many operations in desktop version are Modifier Key + Click of some kind.

  • It’s the 8th in New Zealand! Good morning everyone.

  • Hi guys, thanks for the excitement!
Every feature from the desktop version is in the iOS port with the following exceptions:

    • Drag+drop audio and midi export disabled

    • Shortcuts (cmd+click) are still accessible, however they require the connection of a keyboard. (No shortcuts are mandatory for utilizing Tekno's full feature set so this does not limit functionality)

    • 'Clear all lanes' shortcut in sequencer removed from iOS to avoid accidental pressing

    • Icon spacing a little larger on iOS to avoid pressing the wrong buttons

    • Lastly, the iOS version features a Sequencer zoom view to bring it full screen, which is not in the desktop version and helps on small screens

Thnx for clarifying! Do the shortcuts with keyboard also work in the AUv3 when loaded in an iOS host or just standalone?

As far as I know if/when the AUv3 window is 'in focus' it will capture the keyboard, that is the way iOS works...
...ie. an AUv3 can not access the keyboard if it's not focused.

  • This looks like a great update. Humanise per voice will be major, the humanise in Tekno is a key feature imo, but you don’t want it on everything.

  • Wait!….. where’s he gone? Did he say anything about releasing it? 🤔

  • While we’re here - the big geometrical flower thing at the side - what’s it for?

  • Does anybody know if this will be iPad only?

Love the sounds from this. The design. The colors. Stoked!

I might have missed something but how do I scroll down on the sequencer page? This doesn’t seem to be move able.

Silly question, I know, but how to you make it show the sequencer at all? (Can’t figure it out! Have clicked on everything!)

    @catbox Lower right corner. “SEQ”

    Got it! Thanks! :-)

  • Sounds fantastic!
No way to save a sequence inside the app? I guess MIDI export will cover that eventually?

See more like a ‘page flip’, tap the dark area to swap pages.

I mentioned this behavior during beta but it is what it is :sunglasses:

  • Does the randomiser in the sequencer randomise settings in individual steps (e.g. pitch, velocity etc.) as well as just the number and position of step triggers?

    Cheers!

  • Multi out?

  • @Zerozerozero said:
    Multi out?

Yep, routing is done in the hamburger menu (ie. which sounds go to which output).

As far as I can see there is no per step pitch option in the sequencer but velocity and some other options are randomized.

    Gamechanger!

  • Does this output midi? I mean will it's sequencer dump it's output to a DAW?

Also has anyone tried it in Logic? Does bounce in place work well?

    Thanks
