  • Why do companies waste time on AI slop ?

Roland loves going 2 steps forward and 3 steps back, every 5 years...

It’s so weird isn’t it? I think it’s fair to say that the general consensus among creatives in every field is that they don’t want AI driven tools and yet time and time again companies willfully ignore this and then try to convince us that they’ve done something great ‘for their users’ by creating this, that or the other AI driven nonsense. It’s just massive FOMO on their part as far as I can see - they’ve all bought the line that if you’re not in it, you’ll be left behind. Sad really as I suspect incorporating AI tools now won’t save them from the ultimate negative impact of AI on all creative industries, including their own.

I suspect AI program creation in this regard is cheaper than paying full development hours to employees that need benefits. Even if the product sucks, if it doesn’t take much to produce you might as well see if we like eating shit sandwich for breakfast.

Really disappointing to see this piece of AI slop get released before a fully featured synth product with care put into it and a teaser released months ago. Maybe they've been All Hands On Deck for this AI thing since NAMM...I really hope I should doubt that..

All their AI shit is sponsored by Sony/UMG it seems? so you know how Roland is staying alive today...

Really looking forward to this release, thanks for all the work you and the team put into this! It is a big thing when major players in the industry decide to bet on our little niche in the music world. Having been a part of this community for years, I feel grateful for every effort by any developer to create tools for us to use. Some you like, some you don’t but that’s just the way it is.

Been silent on most fronts for the first part of 2026 due to a new job, but I have high hopes that Zenology GX will inspire me to make more covers and then some.

    Go Roland, go!

    😊

  • I think Roland’s definition of soon is not the same as mine.

  • @MatthewAtZenbeats Any news you can share?

not until these guys get a say in it i guess.

This app was not Show Floor Ready, preview ready, beta ready, anything at all it seems lol

Yep. Fully aware. I have a Roland MC707 groove box which is also Zencore powered and it sounds amazing. The thought of having these sounds on iPad is salivating.

Same! I know it’s a pipe-dream…but, It would be AWSOME if they somehow made it a real-time editor for the MC-707.

there is one – but Mac/Win only, not available for mobile platforms:

  • I reckon they are saving the drop for Super Booth.

  • They didn’t say which last November or which NAMM!

If we measure in geological time, the drop will be extremely soon indeed, if that helps 😬

    That’s a real good call. ☎️

Or maybe their waiting for the Superbowl.

  • The time-definition of 'coming soon' is pretty interesting :sunglasses:

  • "PCM (7,000 PCM waveforms)"

does anyone know, are these PCM waveforms some of the content that was in the 90s Roland Grooveboxes (MCx0x, D2, etc)?

someone told about 2000 years ago: 'I will be back soon...'
