A new version of Piano Motifs (v4.110) is now available. What’s new in this version:
• Added new Velocity option in the Arrangement Screen. Select velocity offsets for the start and end of a section to gradually increase or decrease the note velocities for each section of an arrangement. Use this feature to implement crescendos and decrescendos in your arrangements. (AUv3 Plug-in only)
• Doubled the button area for the Generate/Play, Next and Revert buttons.
• Fixed issue where the Melody Sequence Freeze feature was not producing accurate results.
• Fixed crash that can occur when retrieving a Host AUv3 session and there is an arrangement with a single motif that has a loop count greater than 1.
• Fixed crash that can occur when the following settings are used: Accomp Voice Leading, Swing or Triplets or Sixteenth Notes and Accomp Last Bar.
• Fixed crash that can occur when you trim a section in the Arrangement Screen and the section has a Programmed Chord Progression with Swing or Triplets or Sixteenth Notes.
• Minor bug fixes and improvements
A video showing the new Velocity Offsets can be found here:
Use this new feature to apply crescendos or decrescendos for the different sections of arrangements.

Really nice addition!! Piano Motifs feat. DynaSinth
Yeah, I’m really digging the VO’s!
Good lord, that’s soothing! Nice one man 🤙
Thanks for all the dank updates @azul3D_Apps lovely stuff
Nice work @azul3D_Apps and @egobeats 👌
Cool stuff @egobeats 😎! Love to see new features being put to good use.
🙏✌️
Thanks Tony!
Accessing individual midi channels from Piano Motifs and sending them to different instruments in AUM is straightforward but I’m not having any success recording only midi channel 1 when using Piano Motifs inside either Groovemaster 2 or Cubasis. With only channel 1 selected in these apps I am recording both channels 1 and 2 so I am not able to separate the melody from the accompaniment. Has anyone figured this out for either Groovemaster 2 or Cubasis?
@RJB, I know that some DAWs have difficulty routing MIDI. Hopefully someone has some tricks under their sleeve to be able to do it in those DAWs.
Another video using the new feature. This time for a crescendo in the track.
@azul3D_Apps
Thanks for reaching out. Would you ever consider having an option where a user could mute any of the midi channels inside your midi output section? That way if the DAW only accepts all midi channels, it would fill filter them out before it gets to the DAW.
Hi @RJB, something similar (not exactly MIDI channel muting) already exists. If you go to the Arrange Screen and press on the motif you want muting on, there is a contextual menu that has a Mute option. Pressing that opens a popover screen where you can mute the Melody or the Accompaniment. Hope this helps.
@sfm came in with good timing on the midi routing tutorial.
Version 4.110 had an issue where Host sessions saved with it would crash when they would retrieved if no Velocity Offsets were used. Please update to version 4.111 for a fix for this issue. Sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused.
When trying to change time signature in the Settings bar I go to scroll through the options above “TS” but all that’s listed is 4/4. Are other timings not supported in Piano Motifs? User error somehow? Maybe I’m missing an IAP or a box I need to tick in the settings menu?
You gotta change it in aum(three orange dots at top)
Not sure what all time sigs are supported though
Ahhhh, thanks man! 🤙
Edit: when I change the signature in AUM to anything other than 4/4, an X shows up above TS in Motifs and when I hit Generate I get a warning: Host time signature not supported. Any advice? @azul3D_Apps
(3/4 and 2/4 works)
Hi @Squishy, Piano Motifs supports 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 and 6/8 time signatures (AUM doesn’t support 6/8). Also, if you want to be out of sync with AUM’s time signature, you can toggle the SYNC button. When this button isn’t highlighted you will be out of sync.
Sweeet! Thanks for touching base 🤙
@azul3D_Apps
Really liked the raven demo you posted. Have you played with @Rob_Jackson_Music ’s synths with it? I am absolutely hooked on using his synths with Piano Motifs.
Also, @MobyPixel ’s VIRAL presets in PM sounds lovely.
This is from one instance of Analogy8 and DynaSINTH
Ah nuttin like relaxing after the humous
@egobeats nice! I have several of @rob_jackson_music ‘s synths, they sound great! I have a demo with ANALOGy8 and another one that uses ANALOGySTR.
Very good stuff @azul3D_Apps
My favorite midi generator by far.
