  • Hey Folks,
Lots of big improvements to the timing the past weeks.

Version 1.2 and 1.2.1 fix the LFO Timing, and the Cubasis Arp/Sequencer timing
Plus I added MIDI Clock Input.

Will update the other AudioKit apps

Any news on the LFO drift thing? Did it get sorted?

Should be working. Let me know if you still have issues 👍

  • Hi @AnalogMatthew,
Thanks for the update. Not yet tried it out, I’m still busy using J6 in a couple of my projects, that is a brilliant synth 👌

Updating that one right now! :)

Plus also adding MIDI Clock input to J6 Standalone. That feature has been heavily requested

I only ever use them as AUv3 in Cubasis 3. I am still amazed how the J6 Space Trip preset compliments the TC-Data app, a beautiful spatial sound.

  • Fantastic. Thanks so much AnalogMatthew.

I just tried in AUM and it doesn’t seem to follow the host tempo. I’ve got tempo sync turned on next to delay. Is this for everything or just the delay?

Good question. The one next to the Delay is for Delay and Auto-Pan, and maybe a couple of other things.

Each LFO has its own Tempo Sync switch next to it. (Labeled "Hz" and "T" Make sure it is set to "T")

Would also check that it says version 1.2.1 on the about page. And that the LFO rate is set to a whole division ie 1/8 instead of 1/8 D, etc)

If it's still giving you trouble would love and appreciate a screen recording. 🙏

I think it’s working fine actually, apart from one thing - it seems to max out over 140bpm.

I’m in loopy pro with a midi note playing for 4 bars on a loop. I’ve got lfo 1 set to 1/4, with a down ramp so the filter cutoff beats in time with the metronome. All good until the host bpm gets to over 140.

I don’t really make music over 130ish, but the drum n bass hedz won’t be very happy! 😉

  • That 140 info is great intel. Thanks for that!

  • Has anybody tried MIDI learn in the standalone? When I open the “MIDI mapping - Map parameters to MIDI controller” section, tap “MIDI learn” the app instantaneously crashes the moment I tap on the parameter I want to map. Not sure if it’s a problem specific to my device/OS combo: iPad 9 running iOS 26.4.1

    There's a pre-order now for Retro Keys for $4.99.
I'm feeling kind of generous so I'll probably also make the Pro-5 pre-order only $5. It will eventually be $29.99, so big opportunity to grab it

Well for one thing, Retro Keys is about 21 GB smaller 🤣
With the modeling, each instrument in Retro Keys only takes up about 20mb.

Jamal's sounds are incredible though. Big fan of all his GM work.

Where Retro Keys really shines is creating a vibe and warmth with a single key. Personally, I like the RHDS Stage 73 and CP Electric Grand sounds in Retro Keys more than my MODX. I also like Jamal's better than a workstation keyboard.

Updated an iPad to 26.4.1, tried reproducing. It didn't crash for me. But I believe you.

I wonder if it's the type of device you have connected? And, how is it connected (bluetooth, etc)

Anyone else have a similar issue? Hopefully I can find a common thread

Pro-5 will be my quickest preorder ever

Fixed! Will be in next update. Thank you

Also for AUM users, make sure and turn the transport (Play button) on. The new version's tempo LFOs are locked to the AUM transport for rock solid timing.

  • Just preordered Retro Keys and will preorder Pro-5. Still loving Super J8. I use NeoSoul keys, but it does make my iPad feel physically heavier 😀.

Successfully set MIDI Learn to Filter and Envelope on both my iPad Air 4 and 13” Air 6 OS26.4.1👍

cool! yeah, hahaha huge sample sets!

And I probs WILL end up buyin the Super J8 app...at $22 it's still a bargain...just compare it to Mac or PC VST synths cost :o

EDIT: oh and re the Pro-5 pre-release, as I am in Oz can you allow at least 24 hours on it, as it takes a while to trickle down to the Oz App Store :) thanks

That’s mighty kind of you to buy the app at this price. I hope it inspires your music! 🙏

The odd thing is that other Audiokit apps like J6, Virus and Nerd are also affected. MIDI learn on non Audiokit apps works fine. @AnalogMatthew I just sent you the crash logs as a PM.

  • Update for folks: The crash for @catherder was fixed in all AudioKit apps

  • NEW UPDATE 1.3 Submitted to App Store

    • NEW: FREE Bonus Bank of 55 presets by Joe Zeno!
    • NEW: MIDI Clock In can now be toggled off
Tap the Tempo readout to turn MIDI Clock In on/off
NOTE: Tempo readout turns green when MIDI Clock is controlling it

    SMOOTHER PERFORMANCE
    • Filter slider now moves smoothly while being modulated by an LFO
    • Fixes crackles when turning the OSC Range knob

    MORE FREE UPDATES TO COME!

Thanks a lot for fixing this. All works fine now and I am looking forward to v1.3!

  • @AnalogMatthew what a preset bank! Regards to Joe, great batch, marked so many favorites already. Cheers!

Honored to donate my vintage Juno-106, the same one used to make Synth One J6, to IU Indy’s Music Tech program.
Because of all your support for J6 and purchases of Super J8, I was able to pass this synth on to the next generation of music makers. They’re very excited.

I’ve always loved the Juno-106. It’s one of those instruments with real history & character. Plus, the wood sides I added make it sound better. That's just science 😉

Indianapolis is lucky to have a program like this. The students are wicked smart & seriously talented.

    Thanks everyone for your support!
