    Me neither.

Does Mrs Monzo keep you both inline Mr Monzo and Johnny? :)

I would love to see the Pros new speaker system on an Air 3, even if it made it a tiny bit bigger. Please Apple don't make iPads any thinner.

Yeah - what is the deal with making new iphone/ipads THINNER and LIGHTER? I just upgraded my iphone4 to iphone6 - i much preferred the thickness and weight of the 4. Same with my ipad4 - I've picked up an Air at the Apple store a couple of times and again much prefer the 4 as far as weight and thickness.

It's the number game. I would personally prefer a better battery than bragging rights in millimetres

  • Is there some legit info on the existence/development of an Air 3 or are you guys just speculating?

Yeah just speculation. I think it's odds on that there will be one in 2016

  • For me the 'Pro' is as much to do with the OS, as well as the hardware, I hope to see more stability in the OS, before I upgrade the hardware.

To overcome the storage limitation (32 and 128 GB), all @Apple has to do is improve its iOS data management. If the iOS Document Picker would support self-wifi hard drives along with iCloud Drive, huge amounts of data could be loaded off the iPad until needed. Common data types could be shared among apps. Then it could become more of a production machine.

I can see enterprise users needing only the 32 GB model with mostly spreadsheets and word processing; but anyone generating music, pictures, and video could really use a couple terabytes.

  • Is iOS that unstable?

I used to use a PC for music years ago. I had loads of problems when I used lots of software on it. I soon narrowed it down to DAW and a few VSTs and things became better.

The thing with iOS is that many of us use lots of apps. Some are updated to new SDKs quickly, some are not.

Seems to be par the software course to me. Maybe it's slightly made worse by constant iOS updates, but even Windows is going to use the same model of constant updates with Windows 10.

I still have some problems with apps and iOS 9, but to be honest, less problems than iOS 8.
Some of the apps I still have problems with, have not been updated since 2014.

I'm not saying iOS is perfect, just that due to its very nature it is unlikely it will ever be perfect. Most computers only seem more reliable as for music we often use them differently and computers have a big head start on mobile operating systems.

That's the thing. When I create a track on the iPad I'm using ten to twenty different apps sometimes, with synths, FX, MIDI controllers, DAWs, etc. Keeping those in sync with the iOS is becoming a bit of a nightmare. As a comparison, on the Mac I have Logic, and OSX.

  • are people really going to buy this for music, does it even have enough ram to run everything?

  • After being stuck with an iPad 1 and iPad 3 the first time around, I'm going to say you're better off waiting for the Pro 2 and 4 update cycle.

Bought the iPad 1 two weeks before the iPad 2 launched. Then upgraded to the Air 1 halfway through the upgrade cycle. Not had any regrets yet.

That sounds all kinds of painful Monzo. Three apps at a time is probably my limit. Mostly just one if I can get the results that way.

Well its got twice the RAM of any other iPad so I think it will be up to the task.

Not all at once, just over the course if a project, compared to using Logic, which I pretty much use on it's own.

Saying that though, I do often record live jams into Audioshare, and these will often involve playing: four synth/sampler/rhythm/instruments, four FX, MIDI generator, Minimix, Audiobus, and either Auria or Audioshare itself, all at once.

  • @monzo yeah I'm only ever using 3-4 apps at once on iOS. It's too unwieldy with anymore and just becomes a chore.
On OS X I use Reason7, most of my tracks would have 30+ devices, some way more than that.. Sometimes a stack of 10 or more for a single sound.
All saved into one file with one click. Recalled instantly with one click. I honestly admire some of you guys that use iOS like a full studio, I don't have the patience to do all that on iOS though. too much app switching, saving, linking, syncing, setting midi, glitches, etc.. Ugh :\

  • I took the plunge, says it will be ready for store pickup today :)

  • yep, i'm on an iPad mini 4 now and today I was only switching back and forth between turndown, samplr, and audioshare and turnado stopped twice and all sound cut out with it, had to turn the iPad off and back on to get the sound back. I couldn't imagine what it must be like using even more apps than that at once... and I wasn't even using audiobus just copy paste so none of them were running at the same time, just all open at the same time.

The Air2 handles lots of apps running at once really well CPU-wise, the problem is with some apps losing volume or mucking up, so you have to reload them again sometimes all in a certain sequence to get them working. Can take a long time to load everything up, and with the potential for a volume spike/freeze/crash or Auria borking the recording, even once it's all loaded and working, it's a hairy experience.

Since the Alchemy update I've started using Logic more, so will be using the Mac and iPad for making tracks, which should hopefully cut down the load on my iPad and reduce the risk of things going wrong.

  • available in my local Apple Store TODAY! hmmm...

I think everyone who has an iPad needs to go out tomorrow and buy a 2 gb ram model, if they don't have one. That way the Devs will be making apps for mostly the same models.

    I am of course joking......or am I?

Update now, all of you! Lol

  • @monzo I've noticed something when the apps buzz and the sound cuts out. If I then open certain apps and play them. Some have sound and some do not. After another app does make sound, the original app usually works again.

I really want one it's just that it doesn't have 3D Touch yet. It's a great feature on my 6S Plus. I've found it to be very handy.

I was like " am I loosing it" one day when I first got phone..........took photo and was thinking I need to get more sleep. Shit is wavy...............................................................

Cool feature. Not really widely discussed which is surprising.

Could you post some pics showing an app full screen when it's restored? Interested to see how an app looks sized up. Wondered if the apps in Apples show were designed to look good on the Pro.

Do you mean just your SigarBytes apps? Haven't noticed a problem here - just put Egoist through Turnado via AB without any issues. A lot of my disappearing sound/buzzing etc. problems seem to have been resolved since a recent Audiobus update, and I've never had the issue outside of AB. They were a big pain for several months though. I'm still on 8.3, not sure if that makes a difference.
