Thing is that most of our interface is code as opposed to images [of amplifiers, tubes, pedals etc] so its pretty sharp. Ill try with some others.
speculation time: the iPad Pro keyboard has Command, Option and Control keys. we're likely to see an iOS/OS X hybrid for this machine before a second gen.
that said, just played with one. force touch is not present and that might be what kills my gusto the most. this is a great design tool, great reader and media consumer, but I can't justify the cost for myself until all apps take fuller advantage of the processor and ram. I might just get another mini and call it a day with Ableton Link.

Also curious how the processor is coping with Flux FX. Flux hits my Air2 quite hard. Is the A9X giving much more processor head room?
For the price, I'm more inclined to stick with my Air2 and get a Surface Pro 4.
I already bought a case for my iPad Pro!
When i put the iPad pro 128GB, cellular, the pencil and the keyboard together... i got a crazy 1517€!
Could work really well, but we havent looked into it yet as there are more pressing matters.
I'll need to see in a few tests. Unfortunately it doesn't fit our favourite focusrite dock so i need to dig out the apogee
Right now though.... for some reason... Audiobus isnt working at all.
I saw in a benchmark that the pro has 2 cores with 2.25ghz? So the single core benchmark is great (even slightly faster than my i7 haswell 2.0ghz) and doesn´t throttle much. Apps like hungry synths will run fantastic since the single core is important here. Not sure about multi tasking with a dual core and a multi core benchmark not so much higher than an Air 2.
Also a shame that this thing could run a multi (or two) from Omnisphere but still no "giant" synths available on iOS.
The graphic benchmarks also seems to beat even the integrated intel iris graphics in the macbook pro´s.
Still very different systems (X86 chips have still more under the hood like mutli threading etc.) but in general it is an impressive device. Just the price is too high and the software a bit crippled. A shame!
Tim Cook says we need no more PC´s (and mac´s)..... but where is a file system and x-code for iOS and more external connections? Then i would agree maybe.
It's just under £1100 for the cellular version (just under £1000 for wifi only) with Pencil and keyboard in the UK. Considering you can buy a Macbook Air 13" for £849 it seems a little steep. If I was in the market for a new iPad I think I'd still go for a 64gb Air2 for £479.
Think I'll wait a couple of years for the Pro. In the meantime my next 'size matters' purchase is a 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K....
Yep, an iPad Pro 2 with 3D-touch (and the roli equator app) would be interesting. Crazy that they now charge additional 150€ just for the cellular option. A freaking 179€ for the keyboard.... lol! The pencil is 109€ i Germany!

I'm thinking this will win many of us over. I can imagine what Auria Pro will be able to do with midi tracks, its new built-in synth, plus the usual plugins. I hope we get to see some demos coming out before the end of the month.
With 4GB RAM, its bye bye iPad for me. Bought original iPad so I'm not one for waiting for the perfect bling. This version 1 iPP will do for me. I'm not a laptop guy so this is not going to be a replacement for a laptop. Playing synths on a tablet just went up another level. Bring it on.

Could someone says how good and loud the speakers are (f.e. compared to a macbook pro).
In comparison with the cost of the iPad Air 2, £679 is not too bad for the 32GB although just with Wifi. Once the top developers and companies start to drop in cool apps especially for music, I can see iPP becoming the go to tablet for a lot of musicians and producers. We will soon be seeing a section here on this forum dedicated to iPP apps. Omnnisphere for iPad anyone

regarding the speakers, I am quite sure its not going to beat a MBP speakers. An iPad is simply too thin. No doubt this will be the best sounding iPad ever, but on a lower level compared to laptops.

still rly conflicted about the ipad pro vs. a surface pro with bitwig. my brain locks up with desktop DAWs but maybe a touch surface would solve that problem. on the other hand i use alot of ipad stuff already and if something similar came out for the ipad pro i'd just use that instead of messing with a surface. i'd much rather stick with the ipad instead of going to a surface but idk if anyone's gonna take advantage of ipad pro yet.
i suppose only time will tell. waitin for loopy masterpiece and auria pro...

Ah those are the underpowered Core i5 CPUs. For one second there, I thought iPad Pro was stronger than I thought it was.

Yep it's a lot louder than the air2 etc. not as much bass as the mbp, but clear as a bell and quite balanced. Pretty impressive actually.
I also have an underpowered i7 in my macbook pro but it can push really a lot things!
I think for a tablet the single core is great....and that without fan! For multi-core needs it´s not really "pro" enough maybe.
Def. no notebook replacement so far.
Please continue to socialize and promote music creation in there. I've always respected Apple to hit the "simple" sweet spot... and I've also watched them ignore special markets: design, music, even games. I think we really want to preserve app audio routing, and get midi even better.
None of these thing strike me as things that are of central importance to apple.
