No not just Sugarbytes apps or all Sugarbytes apps. Just 4 apps it happens with - WOW, Thor, Turnado and Effectrix. I can get them all working eventually though. Yep I am on iOS 9.1, but Thor has done it for myself since iOS 8. Thor can go weeks without doing it, then it happens.
The SugarBytes apps all used to work fine for me on iOS 8 and have started doing this after the last update.
Strange. I've only got Thor and Turnado. Turnado was glitchy and crackly on my old ipad2 but works fine on the Air2. Don't think I've ever had an issue with Thor.
Yep I've not heard of anyone else having the Thor problem, but I've tried everything to narrow down what is happening to no avail. First I thought it was certain patches, but it even happens with Haqs patches and my own. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it (forgive the pun).
My instinct now, is there is a combination of things happening that make the bug happen. Same with the other apps. I don't think it's iOS or the iPad model or the app alone. I have never had it with any app designed after the Air 2 came out.
On a side note, I think it will be nice when the largest demographic of iPad are 2gb models, then it hit me....by then, my iPad Air 2 will be the new iPad 2 struggling to run iOS 20 cabbage leaf!
Seems some decent reviews out for the Pro. I do like the look of Split Screen on the Pro, looks a better fit than on the Air.
The screen (same as the Air), seems far less reflective than the Surface Pros. Only judging this by a comparison vid, I might be wrong. The Surface has benefits, but seems to struggle as a touch device compared to iPad. Obviously this may change.
The Pro also has issues, especially if you want it to replace a laptop. I'm of the opinion that if the right software comes, it could make its own market.
So far the only issues making music on Surface Pro 3 are that some vst have not optimized yet for touch. Bitwig touch is brilliant, as is MST, and StageLight.
We have a surface pro 3 where I work. Everyone laughs at it while using iPads or MacBooks. A touch screen is useless when you're forced to use Winderz 98 and a floppy plastic keyboard thats attached to this thing that weighs about 5 pounds. And it has fans inside of it so it's constantly making noise and blowing air out the sides. I might smash it one day if I ever get fired
Using iPads at work? Maybe if I was a masochist...
I have the Pro now. It's something, let me tell you. Will put it through the paces.
I love it, all the synths become a lot more playable on it. wow, just wow.... Nave is insane on it.
I've Used Turnado constantly in my AB preset for the last 3 years and this problem has been there at least for one year. Now I always make sure Turnado is the last effect to be plugged in or it won't work, or even let the audio through in bypass. I might have even written to them about it. The other effect apps in my preset are Magellan and tonestack.
Now I know why the iPad got bigger, it was pregnant, it's given birth to multiple iPad Pro discussions.
Lol I'm the proud father of an iPad Pro discussion, let's go wet the head...
^ Welcome to the club :-)
I will admit that it's only the money stopping me getting a Pro.
Same for me.
I have nothing left to sell, except my body....the wife says at my age, it may take a while! Lol
How about medical research, for the body that is?
Hmmmm.....HEY that might be a plan!
I figure I'll have enough for a Pro by selling plasma. Planning on getting it in 2019.
My wife says that she will not sell her body to buy me an iPad Pro.....I'm feeling so unloved lol
With how Apple have been acting like Vampires of late, they may 'cut' you a deal, for some of the red stuff.
Exciting times :-)
Haha
Hehe
Eventually I'm sure I will stumble into some store with an iPad Pro on display.
I will then take a look at Garage Band for 3 minutes and that will be enough for me.
I bought my mini 2 because it is mini.
It's a great device.

confirmed 4GB ram if anyone was still waiting. LPDDR4 RAM (2 GB × 2 = 4 GB total) !!
And now I wish I had not seen this from iFixit:
"Fresco Logic FL1100 4-port USB 3.0 Host Controller"
so... they coulda put in a USB 3 connector?
What a waste of resources
Let´s see what pro applications will arrive in near future. I still see it with a good and bad side. Cheap apps are always nice but this is for sure one of the main reason that pro apps will be rare since no one would sell real desktop class apps for a few bucks. But it´s the same with all these streaming platforms. The crowd will get more and more used to the feeling that it´s normal to get everything for free (or very cheap) like they breath fresh air!
Really not sure if it´s all the great future for music production.
One of the reasons i really hope that the surface kicks the iPad Pro butt really hard!
Wonder if they're planning on a lightning to USB adaptor. I can't see why they would have the controller in there with no way to outfit sold units with a USB connector.
