Hello,
Unfortunately no you cannot do that, because when you use splitview, you have to click on the application between a selection ( i believe the app has to be ios 9 ready to appear there ) and you cannot pick the one already appearing.
Personally i don't suffer from this as i have kept my ipad air 2. It may sound stupid but i use both, i do EVERYTHING with ipads nowadays, and when i work i like to open an ibook on the ipad air while i have excel and word on the ipad pro.
Btw the splitview is very comfortable because when you switch the second app to another, the app remains open even hidden. So when you switch back on it, you're back exactly where you were before you switched. In other words, yes you only have 2 apps to see at the same time but you can have many of them at the same time and switching takes one second.
Btw let me warn you right now : i own animoog, 3 arturia isynths, korg gadget, patterning, fm4, cubasis, auria, zeta, auxy and imaschine 2. As of now, none of these apps appear in the split view selection. If you plan to use these apps in split view, either you can't, either i'm missing something. I believe you have to wait for the full ios9 update for each application before you can use split view with them. I urge you to wait if that's your main interest in the ipad pro.
I played again some minutes with an iPad Pro and it was very light even with one hand. Garage Band was not crashing
It´s a very nice device. Just it needs really an advanced iOS. IOS 9.1 is not what this thing needs.
An own category in the app store would be needed to when developers should use all the juice.
I have still a bit of a "want" feeling but i would have to wait and see if really some more pro apps will come.
A full synthmaster instead of just a tiny player, Logic iOS, even a full Garage Band, yes and even full games instead of these tiny casual or "free to play" or "splitted in five parts" games.
There is really not much (beside the pure size and maybe the pencil) to get that thing over an normal iPad!
This thing seems to get a lote hate/love. I´m sure it will sell good but they could do so much more with such a device.
I will wait until they release their new MacbookPro 15" line somewhere next year to see if they care really about pro users anymore!
Any new updates or reviews? Really close on pulling the trigger.
I posted on the Steinberg Cubasis forum about increasing the screen real estate for the Pro.
The reply was positive if typically cryptic.
They've sold out of the silver 128gb online at Bestbuy.com. I was so close!
