  • I may be wrong but I think its a pseudo ms 10, maybe thats obvious. There are many things they had to change though I'm sure. Also no midi synch so hmmm
  • Ok. Is quite playable on iPhone5s screen with a stylus. You need to press a little "off" the button (mainly below) to get fair response.
It happened something weird on VC* screen. At some point, with all cables connected, ond white flashlight appeared just for a second between "Play" and "PTN" button. Anyone else has experimented that?

  • I did a demo this morning, I like it a LOT

The Flash may have been you getting a new stamp on your bingo card.

We we need a new thread of how to get each one and what you win for a full house.
  • iDS-10 has made me go back to iPoly6 - and I now realise they are very similar in the way they work. 2 synths and a drum machine - independent sequencing of each, Kaoss pads etc...

And iPoly6 actually saves out! But doesn't have that cool voice synth unfortunately.

  • I must say though - Korg have done it again...

I was skeptical about this (why would I need it?) but i've spent hours completely immersed in it making some old school type drum and bass.

It's really like a mini version of Gadget on your iphone - with the added bonus of the Kaoss pads and the vocal synth (which is the best of its kind i've heard on iOS).

(It remind me a little bit of Xenon actually - one of the very first iOS music apps that got me started... only it's much better).

The limitations are both a gift and a curse. You have to think hard about how to make a tune with just 4 tracks - but it results in quite a cool, sparce mix where each part has to be really well crafted. I believe that each pattern can have a completely new preset on it so you can have a lot of different sounds in your track (just no more than 2 synths, drums and the vocal part at any one time).

I'd say I was half way through a reasonably catchy track and i'm wondering now which route to take:

    - 1. Keep going using the on board song mode to fully arrange the track (then possibly record out each stem via the headphone socket for mixing in Auria and some extra stuff on the iPad)

    - 2. Record loops out one by one via the headphone socket and arrange / add to in Auria

    - 3. Just create patterns and play the final track as a live Jam using pattern play and the faders (annoyingly the faders aren't on the same page as pattern play!)

    - 4. Complete the whole thing as a song entirely in iMS10 and just record the master out

    - 5. Boot up Gadget and copy the midi patterns by eye over to Gadget - match the patches and go complete the track in Gadget

Lets hear it then..im still on the fence and its not cozy lol

Well this is weird, I now seem to have digital audio out on my Air 2 9.1 with iDS-10

But not on my mini 2 Not sure if this is part of the game (I don't think it is) but I can't replicate being able to get digital audio out on my mini2.

So I'm now able to use it with the ICA4. I restarted the app and it still works. Scratches head...... :)
I'm also getting audio out from my Air 1 now.
  • You do not have to wait for the splash screens at start up Doug,  just tap the screen as soon as korg appears and it will bypass the splash screen and take you right to the main page.

Yes saw that too, it is when you "discover" a feature in mystery and what you discovered will be flashing until you discover next feature.
The bottom row are saving patches, songs, patterns...not in that order though, don't have it open in front of me...
  • Think we're gonna need a Forum Cheat Sheet...

    +1 UP
  • If you scroll the keyboard to the lowest note and play it it lights up a bingo marker.  Likewise by scrolling to the highest note and playing it lights another.
You do the same thing by placing notes at the highest and lowest notes on the sequencer grid to get two more of the bingo markers lit.
  • I have a real hard time believing this can't run well on iPhone 5. I mean the game boys from years back could so....
Anyone try this on a 5? Also the iPad compatibility seemed odd. Like can my iPad 4 run it? It said iPad 4 mini..

Simply you can't install it because, like Roland Canvas, it's an 64 bits app (I mean, iphone5).

I don't get it, are you on iOS 9? My Air 2 is, but my mini is on 8.3, I wonder if this is the reason. But it wasn't working at first on the Air2....

Check the page before this one. Korg explained it already (bit of a weak sauce explanation, but it is what it is:)
  • Damn this should be ripping on iPhone 3 specs (seriously)
  • I can't figure out the mystery for the 4 wave form/? Buttons that have hints on soundcloud. Nor can I figure out the 2/10. I tried looping the same pattern for 2 and 10 minutes at a time as @Samu mentioned. Anyway. We should compile a collective of how to unlock the secrets! from the promo video Korg posted it seems some of the hidden features allow you to change the cable and keyboard colors. can't wait to reveal the mysteries!

If this was available on iOS 8.....it would be time to buy, anyone got it working with MusicIO etc.

oh god its the beginning of the end for me and my ipad 4...
  • Yeah, this would be insane not to run on iPad 4, IT MUST!
  • Yes. I just tried to install it yesterday on my iPad4 with no success.
  • We are officially second-class Apple customers.
  • I wouldn't be surprised if they make this the next Gadget for Gadget?
  • I wouldn't be surprised if they make this the next Gadget for Gadget?

After they offer some sort of 'out' please.

    What next, the Earth!
  • I'm so sad about the lack of out too, especially since my mac doesn't support "in" with the headphone jack, I'm 100% stuck there, so KORG PLEASE !

Maybe we should do a petition ?

Petition? Petitions are for lady librarians with severe glasses and long plaited hair who wear nicely-cut two piece suits and comfortable shoes and smell fresh like a meadow you'd only ever walk across in bare feet and they speak quietly but firmly and they have this little breathless pause and an inquisitive look where they put their head just slightly to one side and ...erm....where was I?
