Aha, then that adds to the existing 90%, so 10% of that on top will give 99%, but the target of 90% that is helped by requested features that has now become 99% could still be observed to have a ±10% tolerance. On a good day, then, Audiobus 3 will help 110% of users get to their preferred goals faster[1].
[1] faster than what, is not specified.
A toaster without a bagel function is no use for hot cross buns.
Most if not all creative people were 'beyond help' at some point or another. Hope to be included in your 10%.
Pshh, toaster all the way. Not even close.
Certainly, though the big difference between the two (AB en AUM) is the price. AB ($4.99 recently even free) is just much cheaper than AUM ($18.99) and it looks like most people just don't need AUM after AB 3.0 has been launched. Of course AUM won't become obsolete only it will be much more meant for a niche public.
Most of musicians who use iPad on an 'engaged' level already own both. It will really come down to individual needs bur also stability. I love the way AUM works and looks but my music iPad being on 8.4 I cannot even run it. I do run it on my updated iPad but because loopy can't be put in the output I'm forced to use audiobus instead. If AB 3 supports individual physical outs the way AUM does I'll see no reason to move.
The price factor at this point is really irrelevant if something does what you need it to do.
I wonder if Audiobus 3 will really be 4.99 ? Audiobus 2 is 9.98 if you want full functionality. A much improved product for half the price? Possible but I would not bet on it
@Sebastian said that the price would likely be around the cost of the initial price, so maybe someone can remember what it used to cost? But we all know that we will all buy it anyway lol
Right here.
Allegedly a joke on my part.
My memory is not to be trusted, but I think it was about $10.
Has anybody been checking out the Loopy Masterpiece Tumblr?
Oh, my God. This sounds like a total reimagining of how midi travels on iOS. It's way above my pay grade (or off my end of the spectrum, to be frank). But I was wondering why so many of the Audiobus 3 improvements were of the under-the-hood variety and so few were the Hey, Free Toaster! type. I'm no engineer, but is it possible that Audiobus 3 is John the Baptist, preparing the way for the second coming LM?
It would be pretty to think so.
Ha! You're so Hemingway it kills me.
He would.
uh that sounds dirty, I like it
this toaster is already a bagel machine, say hello to audiobus remote ...
so I just tap on go with link, save it, and it will remember my sync and midi setup in each preset (so i can switch setups quickly)?
without having to open all apps first, lol, and then rebuild whatever crazy setup is meant to be used with this preset
fuck yeah!
talking of opening apps,
@Sebastian can you also close apps?
i mean you are the host if you can open them you should be able to close em too
any time frame for public hallelujah day?
together with iOS 10?
I have a lust for teaser videos
show me how to rub it right you sexy version 3 talk nerdy to me
I had a 'nightmare' that AB3 would require iOS10 or later
Jesse (aka sonosaurus) indicated that TJ would be supporting AB3 and as a consequence would require him to up the minimum requirements to iOS 8 for all future versions.
And this is a disaster in the making with TJ being one of the light footprint apps. I hope there is some kind of banner on downright code that stops people on older devices who already have it from updating and ending up TJless.
This reminds me a bit of anytune loosing YouTube import through one of the updates.
As far as I can tell you cannot download updates that require an iOS version that is greater than the one running on your device.
We're currently working on making the launching of presets as stable as possible. It's a massive change to the way that Audiobus 2 worked, because you only launched apps one after another. It should also save metric §$%!tons of time.
Wasn't it a free update? Anyway I think the inapp purchase model is better for devs and musicians. For the first they can offer a cheaper price and the last that they can check the think out.
I just looked it up, Audiobus initially launched at 9.99, so that would be the price of Audiobus 3
Well, I'm really looking forward to this!
Being able to close apps from AB3 would be very helpful for live usage. This and MIDI assigned AB sets would be the bee's knees! Any chance for that in 3.0 or 3.1 @Sebastian?
Midi learn is something we might or might not add in 3.0. But it's very high on the to do list.
@Sebastian, don't want to put words in @Munibeast's mouth but I'm guessing "MIDI assigned AB sets" is about assigning Saved States to MIDI Program Changes, not in-app MIDI Learn for stuff like the mixer. Or maybe you're saying saved states will be MIDI learnable?
Yes please to all that^
[edit: with special preference for any form of MIDI-triggered recall of a saved state]
^^
