no itunes available to me either... it's "open in" to A file manager or "email it to me" only.
I thought devs had already received this consensus memo :)

I think a lot of the time people seem to think it is iTunes itself we don't want, when actually it is a connection to a Mac or PC we don't have :)

Agreed - or at least a connection we don't want to be bothered with.

No biggie for me, it is AUv3 so settings are saved with the project anyway (assuming the host behaves at it should). And I can backup my projects using Dropbox anyway.

I am a little bored of seeing Pacemaker apps come up in my app store searches LOL, must be more patient :)

And before anyone else says it, yes at my age a pacemaker may be more appropriate :D

I feel sorry for developers sometimes - an initial flurry of "yeah great" is then followed by "but it must have this, that and the other". Well anything less than the FM side of the new Montage isn't going to cut it for me!

    I tend to agree here...
For me personally new 'toys' are like christmas and by nature I've always been able to find something that can be improved in just about everything :)

    Self-awareness is a thing to cherish :)

  • Damn! Pacemaker again LOL

I see it. I bought your other 2 apps, and I see this one is priced double with no launch sale.

I'm not complaining at all. I'm sure it's worth it.

Just curious what this brings to the table beyond your other 2 AU apps that doubles the value?

I see this one is not universal like your other two. Is it standalone now? Or, is your demo have it within Garageband?

Again, not a complaint. Might have to wait for more demos on this one to see if I need another.

It's that I'm not quite sure what this is exactly. I read the description and I'm not familiar with the terms.

Is there another demo showing what this app is capable of in addition to your beta demo at the beginning of this thread?

But, good luck.. and I dig your other two apps! :)

  • £7.99 yep I think that's about right pricing :)

  • Quick opinion:

Sounds lovely. Easy to get around.

Only saving banks any issue at all on first look.

    Well worth the £8 :)

  • Are you guys seeing it in UK store ? I cannot find it :(

  • A number of considerations went into this price. I think this is a pretty standard pricepoint for a full-featured synth - although not many AU-compatible competition exists yet. Also, the two Ruismakers were priced slightly below market value in my opinion.

But most of all, this plugin really is a lot more complex than the previous drum machines. Even though the UI may make it look simple, what goes on inside the box is pretty complex. So I felt the price should reflect this.

  • search 'ruismaker' then click on "developers other apps.. you'll see it there. app store search is always rubbish.

Ok. Well, since it's not on sale... no rush then. Will wait for demos to see if I need this one too. Looks cool though. :)

  • So is it a standalone AND AU? Or AU only?

I think it's well worth that value without a doubt. It's got quite a sweet sound to it.

Please consider email user preset save for the future. I can see me wanting to program this a lot!

Layout is really well done. Congratulations :)

It's an FM Synth. Doug already did a preview video with a pre-beta version (and some refinements in the audio engine and the UI have taken place since then)..

  • Lovely jubbley :)

    Thanks!

  • @skiphunt

No worries about price here, this comes from @brambos whose pedigree we know :) Shhhh don't tell him, but I'd pay more ;)

  • BOUGHT and jamming with it right now. I was going to grab a Reface DX, but since I have iPad and interface set up, Phasemaker works out great for me.

I'll check out Doug's video later. thanks! But quickly, it looks to be standalone in addition to AU, correct?

Also, when you drive this with midi sequencers, do you also have to find the fiddly specific notes to send like you do with your other two AUs?

There is a standalone mode with CoreMIDI input for when you feel like tinkering without going into a big DAW ;)

The standalone version is actually a miniature AU Host, loading its own plugin.

    Ahhhhh, there she be :)

    Cheers for the info :)

  • I did my best beta-testing Phasemaker and I really hope no ooppsiedasies got left behind...

@brambos My suggestion for exporting patches would be to use the standard iOS share-sheet in the stand-alone app. This would allow export using e-mail, airdrop, open in.. and that should cover most export needs.

Importing patches could be done in similar fashion in that Phasemaker would accept files sent to it using 'Open In...'.

For this to be 'practical' (ie. for sharing patches) the user tab might need and addition of 'folders'.

Yes, a basic standalone mode. Nothing fancy, but good enough for a quick testdrive or some noodling.

Also, when you drive this with midi sequencers, do you also have to find the fiddly specific notes to send like you do with your other two AUs?

Nope, because it's a melodic synth (not a drum machine) every note should make a sound B)
