I am buying this now because of your endorsement and whatever happens I will hold you entirely and personally responsible unless it's triffic and I make good noise with it and so forth and therefore also take all credit without even the noddingness nod in your direction etc.

Have you got Audulus and Effectrix JG? Thinking of grabbing those tomorrow, sales permitting and wondered what you thought of them.

Audulus bought on a cloudy day (internally) and opened to see a page of modular-make-you-own-examples. Immediately ran away. People speak very highly of it. But anything that has a ten dollar IAP called 'Math Expression Node' is way past my bedtime, therefore must defer to wiser heads.

Effectrix I like, very simple paste in and fiddle about and then easy copy out. Reminds me of a one-step Egoist, which I'm sure is unfair, but I tend to head towards Egoist instead of using Effectrix and then spend ages fiddling about to no real purpose but bathed in a warm glow anyway. Truth is for existing bits of something you want to add some quick well-aimed jollop to it's a nice addition and as you're a jollop botherer I'd say a plus. However my only reservation is if you might find it a bit too simplistic (it isn't, but I know how weird you like to take things etc).

ROTOR at $6.99 is a steal. Well worth picking up for loop and stem building. Worth it for the key detection and time stretching alone... The modular UX is cool too.

I just changed my mind. ROTOR is useless and inscrutable. ;-)

Use the help system and watch the tutorial video.

Experience with Modular Synths can be hell, especially if your not into a soundsynthesis. If you want to try something a Modular synth for the first time buy Zmors Modular for $4.99. From the YT videos I learned that it comes with loads of good presets. Effectrix no experience with.

  • Man, Model 15 at 15 bucks...if this was a desktop synth itd easily retail for and be worth $200 if not more

    I confirm

They are different. Effectrix is a sequencer type of thing where you can set different effects on the sequence, turnado has 4 xy pads(where x and y are different effects, so basically 8 effects) to control effects in real time, and wow has one effect thing and 1 xy pad that has 3 points(or what ever those are called) on it that control different parameters of it.

Thanks guys. I'm not that up on modular synths (I can fiddle about with Moog 15 with a cheesy grin on my face but no real idea of what I'm doing), but the presets looked like good starting points for tweaking....didn't realise there were IAP's involved though.

I see what you're saying about Effectrix, but its plus point over Egoist (unless I've missed it) is that you can put other apps through it.

Maybe I won't buy either. To be honest I'm feeling a bit left out of the sales, as I already have most of them. I had a look at the Apedelay vid earlier, maybe I'll have a cheap treat with that one instead.

It's on the (very short) list, so I'll see what's on offer tomorrow look. I bought a half price pochade box yesterday so I've bought at least one thing this year.

Apedelay, Audulus, and Effectrix. Maybe TapDelay....

They are usually 'spot on' with the timing so I would expect them to do something on Friday.

Second that. Probably we'll also see a 24 hours discount of Korg Odyssei. pricetag probably 14.99

That'd appeal, if I can find discounted itunes vouchers by then.
If anyone's in doubt as to the magnitude and importance of the Arp Odyssey, look what's playing the trill lead riff on this:

  • i think each is $9.99

You can get all the main Sound Packs (Miroslav 1, Sonik Synth, Sample Moog, and The Grid) for a total of $19.95
The first 3 normally sell for $19.99 each, and the Grid is $9.99
The recently released Miroslav 2 is still $49.99

    Very tempting...

I'm going to have to kill you now...

  • Hey, I only got addicted to iOS sound/music apps early this year in January or February... so, I wasn't even looking last "black Monday-Sunday" ;) So, I don't have any previous reference. Are the amount of sales and discounts pretty much the same level as last year? Or, is this year even better?

Kinda wishing I hadn't already blown out my discounted iTunes credits already. Haven't seen any good iTunes card deals yet. Holding out for tomorrow to refill and make more sweet-deal purchases :)

I've been curious about RF-1. It's also universal, AU, and on sale... but there aren't any reviews at all at the iTunes store. Not even for previous versions. Anyone have this and can offer insight?

Dedalus or RF-1? I've got enough delay stuff already. Love the Dedalus dev, but also love RF-1 is AU.

    Found this earlier audiobus thread
    https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/12700/rp-1-dual-digital-delay-fx-with-au-ab-iaa-and-link

Note that the app has been updated
New in 1.2: Tremolo, Phaser, Mod Delay etc

At the moment at version 1.2.3, last 6 months 6 updates. Active dev!

From the thread it seems @JohnnyGoodyear (who's very active here) owns it

This year seems more deals came well before Thanksgiving, let alone the day after, Black Friday. I think it was last years big sale I got Animoog and other classic ios music production apps (Fugue Machine, the Virsyn synths, etc).

I mea just look at this list here, which isn't totally complete (No RP1, etc) from Music App News:

It looks like most of my app collection. So many unreal deals this year...
