  • How to the sampletank pro keys sample pack compare to iLectric and igrand? Are the they same samples?

i just topped off all my isymphonic IAPs, except for the new piano.

I'm interested to buy a few new packs for iSymphonic but there are quite a few out now which have never been reviewed or demo'do on YouTube or anywhere which makes it bit hard to decide!!

It's a rabbit hole. Distributing similar variations across packs means I've eventually bought them all.I'm well pleased, but it was a long, sales + iTunes card discounts road getting there.

Ditto. Had to gobble the last couple up just so I could sleep at night knowing all is tidy.

I see where Reid has made this error, in his most recent post above. He assumes the "All sound packs" update currently for $19.99 includes Miroslav 1, Sonik Synth, Sample Moog, and The Grid, which it does not. The 'All sound packs' only unlocks the original sounds within Sampletank. I know this as I have the 'All sound packs' IAP (purchased some time ago) and none of the aforementioned packs are included.

They need to think of a new name to replace "All sound packs" -- it's very confusing for customers.

Peace of mind has no price...which is easy to say, but truth is I really do like their stuff and I keep telling myself that as a carrot to learn more real theory I should have the kit etc.

    (Thanks ok works)
Moebius lab is not just an FX machine it has a pretty cool synth in there too. The amazing noises/apeSoft guys deserve thanks. They make amazing apps.

Oh I should add this is the Moebius synth with a bit of Johnny and Crystalline as IAA in a couple moebius fx slots. Sort of like Tonestack

@Reid Yep, that's exactly what I was trying to point out. All the patches on that list are the extended core sampletank patches, found under the 'Sampletank Additional Sounds' menu in the store, and unlocked with the 'All sounds pack' .

As for Miroslav 1, Sonik Synth, Samplemoog etc., they are under a seperate menu in the store labeled 'Sampletank Libraries'. None of the patches from those libraries appear in the list; they are seperate purchases.

Current top picks in order most likely to buy

    Model 15 ($29.99 → $14.99)
    iVCS3 ($14.99 → $7.99)
    Shoom ($9.99 → $5.99)
    Xynthesizr ($6.99 → $3.99)
    zMors Modular ($9.99 → $4.99)
    iSEM ($9.99 → $4.99)
    SeekBeats ($11.99 → $6.99)
    DM2 ($4.99 → $1.99)
    MINT.io ($9.99 → $5.99)

The apps that aren't universal would be a cross my fingers play. Put iVCS3 on the list for anyone that didn't already buy when it was revealed it would become universal soon, might as well get it now ;)

    What I actually got:
    Fieldscaper
    Model 15
    Audulus
    Xynthesizr
    BitWiz
    RP-1
    RF-1
    KORG iM1
    Shoom

Decided to stick a little more to my universal guns. Still tempted by the others, but don't put good odds on them being universal in the future.

    Special mention to recent buys:
    Phasemaker
    iVCS
Great buys now, if you don't already have ;)

I admire your guns, or if not the guns your ability to stick with them, but allow me, in mitigation, to restate that iSEM, while not universal, is now AU and at 4.99 seems to be a terribly good buy. Don't mind me, just the dealer whispering through the school gates...

I really wish one day they implement midi on the loops launching and mostly Audiobus. That would be an instabuy. As it is now you cannot integrate it in your workflow.

I know crabman from our forum used the beatstep with ISpark and perhaps he could fill you in on the issues with it as I believe he noted some. I do not remember what his overall impression was however. Perhaps you could search for the other ISpark threads in this forum for the info also.

No,i used it with the Spark LE controller but it had some issues (the controller firmaware but also iSpark),so i sold it again a while ago.

Damn,i missed the Phasemaker sale. That was the only thing i was interested to buy.Yes,i know. It's just 10 bucks but currently i absolutely don't need anything since my focus shifted more towards hardware again.i had 5 bucks left on my account and currently not interested to buy a new giftcard since...again...i don't need anything

  • I'd assume as a general rule non third party IAPs are likely to be discounted as the developer has a direct control over pricing. When it comes to IAPs like Fab Filter that aren't wavemachine labs creation, things get a bit more complicated.

Heh, I re-listened to Doug's demo of iSEM, and it is quite tempting, a unique sound for sure. Though I'm kinda in a cup runneth over situation with all the synths already on my plate. Truth is everything on the iPad is gathering dust until a new one makes its way home. If they make it universal later and I buy it at full price, well then I've done my part to cast my vote and support what's important to me. In the spirit of Thanksgiving I might double down on devs I like and use what iTunes credits I've left to get apeFilter and Altispace. Having iVCS on the iPhone is going to be fun, and apeFilter is not only AU but universal too. Would be nice if Altispace went AU, but the fact it's universal is more important to me now.

For some reason I could never get anything pleasant out of Stria. But that was the old me, time for a revisit. IPulsaret seems more like my kind of thing though.

The dev updated them all fairly recently. For some reason, something about those recent updates really opened them up for me. More playable and slightly less cryptic, more intuitive. I think Stria got and extra slice of update love too.

  • The Flux:Play app went on sale, 2.99 to 1.99, too bad I wiped my ipad and forgot to back up all my self-made presets. Still bought it though, new iphone 7 excitement and all...

  • So i just got auria and the IAP are expensive as fuck and im not all that pleased with the default FX, so i was thinking of buying some cheaper audio unit apps to use with auria. Im looking at RF-1, RP-1 and apefilter. Any recommendations? Is this a good idea or should i go for the auria IAPs ( native to the app so maybe it is less chances of stuff going wrong, how reliable is audio unit?) After giving up on the early days of audiobus this new audio unit method of connecting apps is giving hopes of finally having hassle free vst style music making on ios.

  • To save some cash can't go wrong with the ones you mentioned plus Limiter, for .99c unbelievable!

  • @Slartibartifast Auria IAPs occasionally go on sale, and they're definitely worth the money. Also the built-in effects are pretty good IMO, although they're bread-and-butter stuff mostly. The channel strip is great.

AU isn't quite a seamless experience yet, plenty of glitches to be had with settings not being recalled or plugins simply not working, but hopefully things will improve in time.

  • edited November 2016

    @Slartibartifast
    Agree with above.
And also, I believe apefilter has a stereo delay and reverb included as well. so you could get that first maybe and see what you can accomplish then add to taste.
In fact I'm going to go ahead and buy apefilter myself. Meant to do that anyway.
