Huge update coming...new kits...features...cool stuff. Plus...a total facelift and revamp with iPhone launch. (iPad will also follow suit)
Nice!
It's getting better all the t-i-i-i-m-e, it's getting better, so much better.
Derek how much for iPhone version?
Same....$24.99 will be a universal download. Own one...own them all
Also looking into 3D Touch velocity control (iPhone 6 and models that support)
No way!!!! This is so awesome!!!
For me was this or iWavestation. So glad I went for Drum Session
Doing iwavestation over Christmas which is when I will be using the new oxygyn 49 IV. It has the nice drum pads also but they are not mappable so not sure how useful they will be with drum session but am considering one of these for use with drum session however.
This should work right?
Awesome

Any idea when it will be released?
I don't think we wanna go there again...

It will be cooked when it's cooked.

Should be ok...I was looking at a midi controller keyboard with assignable pads so I can play keys and pads both.
We have a lot of work to do before we are iPhone-ready....I can tell you this...the UI and graphical redesign are NICE...I'm drooling
The oxygyn 49 I am getting has eight pads but not assignable I do not think so hit and miss on what pad triggers what if anything.
I'm using the M-Audio Mini 32 Midi Controller. It fits in my backpack and this little guy its really solid. Only 8 pads though but, it also has 8 controllers, and the keys feel just right. I havent programmed the pads, but they respond to note so if a drum hit is on a certain note like C2, then you can midi learn it to that. I havent done it, but i'm sure thats how it works.

I must say, @DerekBuddemeyer, at first I was a little turned off by some of the 1.0 limitations of Drum Session, specially regarding to exporting MIDI out to my DAW of choice, Auria Pro - it has to be done live, instead of by exporting the resulting MIDI file like DPP, and I was failing to make it appear in the input slot of Auria's MIDI channel. So I barely touched the app until a few minutes ago. Glad I decided to play with it a little after updating it, because now I can report that:
1 - MIDI out work perfectly with Auria Pro, making it usable for create MIDI parts for my drums,
2 - That's a cool upside in having to record the MIDI in real time instead of exporting the file: instead of building a song, then hit record in Auria, I can play with the loops in real time while recording, choosing the loops on the fly - that kind of made me feel like I was really playing drums (in fact, I was just triggering one loop after the other but whatever) and that was a huge lot of fun,
3 - I was able to use the resulting MIDI file to triger DPP - which remains my acoustic drum sound source of choice - with very quickly tweaks: that way, I can say the app lives up to its "EZDrummer for iOS" promise, because I can use Drum Session and DPP side by side the exact same way I use EZ and Superior Drummer: one providing easily tweakable MIDI, while the other provides the sound.
I still want that mixer with overheads and room ambience: EZDrummer also has it, and it would allow me to get more control and thus use Drum Session to provide the actual drum sounds as well more times: I really dig some of the kits!
Is this addressed in an upcoming update? Is this similar/kinda like touching the pattern in the timeline, and then it gets highlighted where the patterns are? then you can just drag it up to the time line again instead of copy/paste?
I notice when I use the function of touching the end of the pattern in the timeline and dragging it to the right, it copies the pattern, but.......I can only do that with the last loop I add. WIth the other loops in the time line, it copies them, but overwrites what ever is to the right of it.
More kits coming...5 studio engineered kits and one bone dry kit for stem export. With stem export and Auria you can group the "overhead" pieces to a single volume slider as well as having full control over every other kit piece in the track. Not sure if I'm going to put an actual mixer in Drum Session...only because the kits are fairly balanced out and ready to roll for the average user. I would actually tweak everything in Auria myself with stems and not mess with it in more than one app...I love Auria. So glad you are finding your workflow enjoyable now....more loop packs coming..more kits...more features...more, more, more...lol
Yes...next update will have the "quickfind" feature and other magical things...lol
Thank you for the reply, @DerekBuddemeyer! Keep rocking!
^^^^^ ------------- Ya, what theconnactic said, X 1,000!!!!!
Thanks Derek.
Epic thread.....epic
Link ?
Not yet...still debating
Let's have a little sub-discussion here. Explain to me the importance of "link" and why it would be beneficial for you to have it as an option in Drum Session....ready GO. ...also ...how many of you really want link? How would you use it in DS? I've read up on it and it looks really good....
Getting closer.... iPhone...new UI for iPad as well
Ableton Link is turning into the de facto stanard for syncing tempo between ios apps. Participating in that party is essential for a drum app imho. Personally I would not dream of buying a drum app without Link. Or any other sequence oriented app for that matter.
I already own Drum Session, however because it doesn't have Link I don't really tend to use it. Link is a rock solid way of syncing apps, so for drums it's pretty essential because it's the only way to lock time and tempo between apps without drift. It's much more reliable than MIDI clock.
Link means apps just sync together easily - These days I always gravitate towards apps with Link when I'm in multi app mode. I'm a lurker till it gets added:)
How would you find out which pattern fits to your song (or part of it) if DS is not in sync with your daw,in my case
AuriaPro.Whatever you put in the timeline in EZDrummer is in sync and in place with the other tracks,so you
can try whatˋs best and when you´re finished you just drag the patterns from EZDrummers timeline on a track in
your daw (in my case Logic). It is a useful habit to have 1 or 2 countin bars at the beginning of a song.Thatˋs what I
expected from DS.But it doesnˋt even start when I hit the play button in Auria (midi settings are correct).Donˋt
know if this is possible in an update?
