  • Yeah I've just got the app (love it so far), it's just that without Link, I can't see me using in a jam session.

The app without Link is only good for making audio and midi tracks for export for myself.

    Yes, i Need link

How would you find out which pattern fits to your song (or part of it) if DS is not in sync with your daw,in my case
AuriaPro.Whatever you put in the timeline in EZDrummer is in sync and in place with the other tracks,so you
can try whatˋs best and when you´re finished you just drag the patterns from EZDrummers timeline on a track in
your daw (in my case Logic). It is a useful habit to have 1 or 2 countin bars at the beginning of a song.Thatˋs what I
expected from DS.But it doesnˋt even start when I hit the play button in Auria (midi settings are correct).Donˋt
know if this is possible in an update?

Auria doesn't have link yet, I think it's a little trickier to implement in a DAW than in a regular app.

So this is my workaround: I do a mixdown of a song or song section from Auria with no drums, and then open the file in AUM. From AUM I will launch a link-enabled drum app such as Funk Drummer or Soft Drummer and create/edit beats from there in perfect sync. If you want universal start/stop controls you need to add Audiobus to the setup, but I can live without that. Link is essential though, otherwise it's impossible to sync.

  • @richardyot Great - thanks a lot for your help!!

  • Ok.... LINK will be in the next update...already started on it tonight

  • Oh, so happy about the latest announcement. Couldn't decide pull the trigger, but now I finally bought it.

  • That kind of next release promise reduces my lurkingness.....thanks!

  • Awesome!!

@DerekBuddemeyer The Holy Trinity: Enthusiasm (actually listening), effort (actually responding), delivery (actually delivering). Keep on it!

  • Various bug fixes are done...AudioCopy is fixed...no more double volume on the first four beats, various IAA bugs with Cubasis fixed, ability to move patterns as a group added, more kits, LINK....new update is gonna ROCK!! Thanks for all your feedback...really enjoy how this community comes together in a constructive manner....allowing us to work through our issues with minimal stress. Striving to give you our best. Thanks for coming along for the ride. Starting to think we are the "Burger King" of drum apps....where you can have it YOUR way...lol. Sorry...a. Little fast food humor. Hahahaha!!! It's TUESDAY...enjoy your day, everyone!

BK of the app world, for damn sure! lol....

You got LINK in there quick! Holy smokes. I hope you can make some money with this app too. I know that will help with future development. What specifically was fixed with AudioCopy? Is this the fix with being able to copy a pattern/loop earlier in the song easier to another portion of the song? Just wonderin.

Thanks Derek! You Rock, and so does yer app, and yer music, and ya..............

AudioCopy export... when you lasted your audio into another app...the first four beats were noticeably louder than the rest. This is fixed. We will also have a new feature where you can select a group of patterns and move them all at once around the timeline...instead of dragging each one on its own. A quickfind feature will be added soon.... tap on a loop in the timeline and it automatically highlights it in the loop section of the app so you can just drag another up into the timeline...eliminating the need for copy/paste within the app

Rim seems to have taken his stance about adding Link to Auria here http://auriaapp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=14574&p=51313&hilit=Ableton+link#p51313

What other workflows are available without the use of AUM? Derek have you tried syncing directly to Auria with true stability?

Give me a rundown of your workflow or how you would connect...I'm lame and don't have Auria Pro yet...just the original release...lol

Thx Derek! Really Nice to hear

  • I know that Cubasis sends out Midi clock and I think Auria Pro does as well. I want to be able to say, not have to commit my audio drum tracks to the DAW until the final whistle. In other words, keep it inside Drum Session for as long as possible until I have to do a mixdown and then send the whole track to Cubasis or AP for mixing etc. But, in the process, if I have audio tracks playing my DAW, say acoustic guitars or what ever, I want to be able to hit play in my DAW and have Drum Sesssion auto start or stop. Would be awesome if it was able to move to the point wherever I am in the timeline in my DAW, so whatever i am in my DAW, i hit play DS plays back there exactly and in perfect sync. Now, I use to be able to do that with my external midi controller arranger workstation keyboard back in the days connected via midi to my old Tascam 688 midi studio and it was rock solid.

I think this should be a possibility with today's technology.

    Exactly!

  • Thatˋs exactly what I was referring to with my example of Logic and EZDrummer (on a Mac).
This is my way to work too.

  • Wondering if there is any idea on when new packs might be available and are you considering whole packs of fills ,intros ,ending, ect.?

Soon...packs will be divided into different genres and will contain song structure...at least that's what I'm working towards...fills, intros, outro, verse, chorus, bridge, etc.... ranging anywhere from 500-1000 loops in each pack

  • @DerekBuddemeyer Derek, I own that app but am a complete beginner with respect to programming drum parts. Can I ask the approach to "humanizing" drums in the app? Auria Pro has humanize, RockDM and Funk Drummer have a variation slider. Can the program do this automatically, do you rely on the variation in the presets you provide, or something else? Thanks!

  • edited December 2016

Yes that is indeed the beauty of the app, it plays what parts when you want. Either from the vast library included or your own you can create in the editor. Not worked with the editor given so many excellent beats / loops that come with this beast.

No humanizing feature as of yet.l,basically, if I want to add any variation, I will edit in the piano roll...add a different snare sound, velocity on the hats...maybe a different cymbal here and there... we may look into a button for a humanize function...but for now, there's enough variation in the loops that we hadn't thought to add one in
