  • In song mode is there a simple way to program silent bars?

  • it's universal but has anyone tried it on a small screen iphone (iphone5s)? Beathawk works pretty good for me, wondering how this is?

  • Having bought several of this developers fine apps in the past, I've been looking at this, but ultimately decided to save my store credits. Mainly because of stuff I've read here, such as the included kits using just three drums and being undeletable. But also because the app seems so heavily focussed on the genre of electronic music, and as a narrow spectrum product is a little more than I'm willing to take a punt on.

At some point, I hope the developer creates a universal drum app, incorporating all his individual apps, and some new ideas. Now that would be great.

  • Ok so I pulled the trigger....working nicely recording midi into gadget.....one thing I noticed, no way of setting the midi note used for the crash in fills.

OK ta, I'll have to manually transpose that one for now....other than that this is working great, and getting some great grooves from Gladstone :)

  • I'm actually loving how well it works with ableton drumracks. Best part is you can just drag and reorder a kit in ableton in a few seconds tops. it also works pretty well with modsteps sampler. now all i need to do is import a bunch of sounds in there :D

It's great. I've been doing similar things pointing it at London and Bilbao inside Gadget and then auditioning different sounds.

I just wish gadget had better sound management. Had actually converted all the Raw Cutz turf smoke and smokers unite kits into Bilbao kits but it became a mess to browse through the user folder so deleted them all :/ might redo a few kits now though coz FD is just fun as heck.

  • Just read that RDM will be getting the midi out treatment as well!

  • Rock Drum Machine :D ;)

    RDM?

Thank you! I scratched my head..

  • I've also pulled the plug. Bought FDM. Really fun and enjoy to put the patterns in Recife!

  • Wow that's awesome!!!!

  • I really hope all his apps get midi out. Soft drummer and funk drummer would be amazing feeding into addictive drums 2.

    Trust you

  • @LuisMartinez Can we have the crash midi out mapping added ? Without it I cannot record properly into apps with fixed midi notes, I have to record onto a piano track, transpose the crash, and then move the midi to a drum track.

  • I want to understand the concept of his drum apps.

So are there loops that play with your programmed notes?

    It is only 3 drums?

I have Soft and this one. I now need to dig deep because this new one is classy as shit.

Each has different built in sounds and patterns relevant to the style of the app, they also have a tailored jamming routine for each one. You can also program your own patterns.
I have both Funk drummer and this one, but can only get midi out working on this one, meaning I can trigger my own sounds in another app. This one has 5 drum lanes kick, snare, hats and 2 toms...although these can be changed and using velocity and midi mapping you can use more than one sound per lane.
One thing I haven't managed to do with it yet, and not sure where the problem lies, is get any randomness to the velocity or timing using the midi flow randomiser

Just picked up my fix this afternoon here too! Great beats but having trouble all over with midi so far.

    A big rush I suppose @Tritonman !
I´m also new to that Midi thing and that is also like an washing mashine tumbler thing going on in the head when trying to understand all ins and outs and channels etc.

It's actually pretty simple. Enable midi out to future drummers own port. Disable audio in the mixer section of future drummer. In gadget or whatever sampler you're using choose future drummer port as input. Make sure it's the same channel as in Fd. Default is channel 10. Make sure link is enabled in both apps for the midi to be perfectly in sync with tempo.

  • As soon as I select Gadget in out from future drummer it crashes every time.

  • Doh, my mute button was on for Gladstone somehow.

I think there is a problem with the outputs....select Future Drummer as the output in the app, then in Gadget select Future drummer as the input (turn advanced midi on first). This Works. Remember to turn the master down in the mixer of FD if you only want external sounds.

  • Got it and sounds great using Recife!
