  • It does look very much like Novation Groovebox, I hope that given the app name is Reason Compact and not Europa , they will add more instruments ie Kong and Grain etc and their fabulous players at some point. It’s good to seeing them testing the waters with this one.

  • Hey Doug, you mentioned a NDA awhile back. Is this it? Or did I miss something really big? Best.

@LinearLineman Ha, no this not it

    I am so glad it isn’t :)

  • Why didn’t they aim it at us?

  • The new app is the "Cool beanonizer", a Doug Woods powered magic wand for mobile musicians. Insta-link all audio and midi connections and make them sound good

    Haha

  • Can't even log in! It recognised my email address and said an account exists (presumably from Figure or something) . When I click forgot password it said a reset link had been sent but despite 2 attempts still no password reset email. :(
Probably not worth the effort judging from the comments but a free Reason Lite seemed like a good er reason to log into my account.

At least it made me 'log-in' to my Propellerhead account I created for Reason 2.5 and I was happy to find Reason Lite there ready for download. Not too happy about the 'internet connection and log-in required unless installing a local license manager' crap.

Funny, in Reason Lite there's no Europe. So to export the Reason Compact settings to Reason is meaningless. probably well thought of marketing step.

But there is 'Europa' at least in my copy of Reason Lite :)
(I'll make a new screenshot without the serial LOL).

Yeah, and at every launch of Reason 10 Lite one must 'log in' unless the demo-mode is enough :D
(It can be bypassed by downloading a license manager, but WOW, they must be super paranoid over an app that they practically give out for free as a 'promo').

They are _super paranoid _ since they still use the uncracked Codemeter from v6 and up ;)

That's just how the authorization works. It's exactly the same in the full version of Reason 10. Do the licence manager thing, & it never bothers you again. Nothing weird going on there, it's just how they have chosen to do it.

I just stay away from installing 3rd party KEXT's(System Extensions) to keep my systems stable and most of these 'licence managers' break when there's a major OS update (macOS Mojave is not far away so...).

Yeah works fine for me. I login to the version on my Mac, and have the authorised version on my PC

On their website it states no Europe in the difference between versions

  • To me it just says the VST/AU version is not included while the Europa ShapeSifting Synthesiser is included...

Isn’t the free copy of Reason 10 lite only for if you register a new account within the Reason Compact app?

I logged into Reason Compact using my Propellerhead account that use for Reason 10 but I didn’t get a free copy of Reason 10 Lite.

They released it earlier this year as a VST/AU seperatelty from the Reason version. If you look at the top of the list , you will see that the Reason 10 native version is included. Confusing i know........

I used my old account info in the app and when I went to the Propellerhead site, logged in and checked under 'Products'(The 'User Icon') and Reason 10 Lite available for download...
