It’s the new price, not a sale per se.
The only improvement I can imagine would be for the 'quick' knobs to be exposed as AU parameters.
Needs state saving, i keep forgetting this and lose my patches.
Phasemaker has full state saving? All my apps have.
You’re not using the standalone version are you? The AU version has state saving.
Yes, and even in standalone it has Audiobus state saving.
I dont know what to say but it doesn't work for me .
In AUM: i save a AUM project, close, return and it loads the first preset.
Testing again now...
Perhaps you're only looking at the name of displayed in the preset window? The sound should 100% certain be correct.
The name in the display is simply the filename of the last preset that was loaded. This is not remembered by the host as it is not part of the state (and it's meaningless anyway, because while it says "Piano" you could have pressed the random button a dozen times already making it something very different in the meantime
)
Nope, Phasemaker opens back to the default 80s Piano patch.
One of the 'problems' with state-saving in general is that it saves the 'sound parameters' but not the 'patch name' so the sound is restored properly on load but the patch-name isn't...
Aha, I see, ok, i get it.
+1
Thank you, kind sir, for continuing to make excellent (and affordable) apps.
1 bug to report -
2 instances in AUM, 1st sequenced by Autony, the 2nd by Cality.
When I transpose down the Cality, it makes the 2nd Phasemaker drop out and hang crash but also silencing the 1st Phasemaker. When the 2nd is undocked by swipe left, the 1st is audible again and both drop out again when redocked.
Ejecting and reloading the 2nd Phasemaker and reconnecting the MIDI to Cality works again until the transpose goes too low again, resulting in same drop out bug as described earlier. Repeated a third time and both instances crashed properly with their nodes going red.
FAO @pagefall
@Calverhall I'll have a look to see if Cality is generating something it shouldn't - how fast is it all going? (Cality can generate a lot of short events in a very brief time which can crash things - like black midi back in the day)
I think the dropout behaviour is "protection" ie when an app produces weird results it gets isolated - not sure if that is AUM behaviour or Apple stuff
The resolution is fast; 1/128. Seems fine as long as I don't touch transpose.
Gonna do a necro on this thread
@brambos is there a way to organize user patches in folders? Or am I missing something. Tried searching for the manual on the site, but there is none for it (and Scatterbrain 😉)
Yes there is, but I it's hidden along with the entire page for Phasemaker due to its age

Also, Phasemaker is from 2016, which is when there still was a big debate about who was responsible for preset management. Apple said it was supposed to be the hosts (hence the non-existent facilities for plugins to do easy preset saving in AUv3). Hosts pointed to the plugins. So this was just a very early rudimentary way of saving presets until hosts were getting their shit together. So don't expect deep file management.
Hey man! Thanks so much for the link to the manual 💖
Oh yeah. Forgot about the ol' Apple shenanigans 😂
No problemo, then
Thanks again!
Rats. I thought maybe the thread title was announcing that Phasemaker was now to be available on the MacOS App Store.
Has it gone universal yet? Feels like this is taking longer than Drambo NanoStudio audio trax BM4 World Peace TB Polyphonic Bathroom Chanson Atom 3.
Mmm bathroom chanson
It is...
Sorry about reviving this. It's the new trend, to revive topics from 2-4 years ago
C‘mon it’s like opening a well aged wine. It has some added flavors 😂
@wim honestly I thought the same. I know an indie dev like Bram probably does not want to maintain an additional platform. But couldn’t there be a dialog where you have to accept the terms that it is not supported and usage at your own risk?
So true 😂
If it was me, I probably wouldn't do it either. It's not worth the hassle, and people are far too prone to one-star reviews no matter the disclaimers.
I'm digging into PhaseMaker again and its awesome! Was the first AUv3 I ever bought and still holds up so well.
Coming back to this, I'm struggling with one thing: There doesn't seem to be a true mono mode? There is only Poly and Legato. Even if you turn on legato, the release tails from the notes still seem to overlap. This can be alleviated somewhat by altering the release of the operators but its not the same as having the synth enforce only one note at a time.
Without this I'm struggling to do clean basslines. Does anyone have advice on this? I feel like I may be missing something.
Looks like we need a universal definition for "universal"...
