Yea that’s an issue with all music apps for some reason not just BM3. I have no idea why it happens but it’s so annoying
Thanks I was about to say the same. This is not a BM3 issue. Happens with all apps.
BM3 has problems with the files app.
Fixing it requires moving all of the BM3 files and folders to
another folder, deleting the app, reinstalling the app
and then moving the BM3 files back into the main BM3 folder.
After that getting BM3 to do a database hard reset database.
Once all of that has been done the files app works the way it should.
I rarely encounter any of the other bugs for some reason.
The bugs I do encounter are not bugs but system limitations
as I generally push BM3 to the limit in regards to processing.
A couple of questions is there any way of getting audio back
into BM3 using AB2, AB3 and AUM?
Also can BM3 send individual audio outs from
it's tracks other than using an audio interface?
Other than that it seems much more stable.
Where's the iPhone version!

Just kidding and remembering everyone how moaning could be infinite but also being gentle brings more happiness. Glad to see BM3 growing again.
Hear, hear
Simply loving this. Built a Custom view on the LaunchPad X to access most of the controls i need to access for a “mostly” controller centric workflow.
This is a joyous combination.
What i configured:
. 16 Pads to play on
. Play
. Stop
. Record
. Scenes Mode
. Keys Mode
. Octave Up/Down
. Bank Prev/Next
. A Minor single octave scale keyboard
Will be adding another Custom to access Macros as well.
Lunchtime result here in a short clip:
@echoopera , don’t forget to finish the song and upload it , very nice
Mmmmm 11 Audio Channels all playing in Harmony and all within reasonable CPU limits considering that I’ve loaded 5 AU synths and about as many AU effects in this little groove.
Awww man. I’m thinking about this launchpad. How is it? I’m worried that the pads are a little too small for my taste which is why I never own an 8x8 controller. This caught my attention from watching reviews on YouTube.
I have a Push2, which i love, and i feel the LPX is right up there as far as quality and feel.
It was mentioned earlier that BM3 has intermittent audio
due to the background audio function or something similar.
I've been experiencing the same thing with no effects
one Bank running and one audio track recording
repeatable and unpredictable in timing.
It will switch of the external audio interface start
playing back through the inbuilt speakers and
then switch back to the external audio interface.
The interesting thing is that before the
recent update BM3 didn't do this but Auria Pro did.
Now the both of them do.
Bluetooth is switched off.
Repeatable with Airport mode on and off
Repeatable with Internet on and off
@Gravitas have you switched on Background Audio in bm3 audio
settings? Are you saying you get audio drop out if you switch to different app screens?
@stormbeats
I've done both in that regards.
Background audio on and off.
Same thing which is a little annoying as I need to lay
down guitar and bass parts for my next gig in two weeks.
I also changed the latency from 128 to 1024 incrementally
in case it was connected to that.
Also Bleass and Galileo as auv3 have been crashing.
I'll collect all the crashes and send a full bug report through to Intua.
I will add that I updated my iOS to 13.2 last night so some of this might change.
What I am going to do is de-install BM3 and
then re-install the app as that may help.
It's simple enough and won't take that long.
Sounds like 13.2 has an issue with aggressive memory management paging out background apps.

Wondering if it’s now necessary for some apps that the battery sucking Settings/Background App Refresh be turned on
@Liquidmantis
No, that was with 13.1.2, I've now updated to 13.2.
De-installed BM3 and reinstalled BM3 and it's now
working much stably including the FilesApp.
@StudioES
iPad Pro 9.7 1st generation
External interface is a Behringer xenyx 802usb running at 44.1kHz.
I didn't know about that function, I'll try that as well.
Do you leave that on or off?
@echoopera hey chief are those Novation Mk3s bus powered by the ipad? Or are you running them through a powered hub? I am eyeballing the mk3 launchkey mini but hoping I can run it without a battery pack or something like that.
iPad Pro with USB C will run it just fine. Others will require a powered HUB.
Has anyone encountered this bug:
. Create a New Scene Pattern
. Set duration of Pattern to 4 Bars
. Tap record
. Capture your Pattern
. Stop recording but allow playback to continue
. Modify Pattern length while still in playback from 4 Bars to 8 Bars
. Press Record button to add/modify your brilliant pattern
. Pattern is treated as 4 Bar Pattern
Now i realize that i might be expecting more from the play head logic, but it just seems weird that it allows me to increase Duration while it’s active, but ignores the updated length. Only way around it so far is to Stop playback, increase Duration and then resume Recording to allow it to capture new midi in correct position of the overall Pattern.
@StudioES
There has been something that I have noticed relating to sample rates.
By iOS 12.4.1 there had been problems with sample rate and buffer size
when using Bluetooth.
Whenever my Bluetooth headphones or speakers had been disconnected
I have had to reset the buffer size and/or sample rate using either AUM or BM3.
I mentioned it in another thread.
Switching off Bluetooth in Auria Pro has also stabilised it a bit.
Not for long periods but enough.
Once again thanks for the tip.
How do I import a sample into BM3 (sorry, not used it for well over a year now)? I import from the files app and it then says the file is in the "imports" directory, but I can't find where that is. Also, when I open the Files app from within BM3, there's no way to get out of the Files unless you actually select a file (that is, I can't find a way to cancel the import). Any help on finding the 'imports' folder would be greatly appreciated
Ah, sussed it. Me being a dumbo again.
Easiest way is to use the Files.app and dump the files into the BM3 folder, no need to do any import procedures in BM3
Nice, I'll do that. Thanks, @Samu, that will be much more enjoyable.
@StudioES
I agree most DAC's can handle multiple sample rates these days.
Having an audio menu in settings would be the perfect solution.
Another good tip in regards to the headphones.
@stormbeats
After a few days of continuous drops from external interface
to internal speaker I may have found a temporary solution.
I took the external USB key out from my powered usb hub
and the drop outs have stopped for now.
I also went through all the apps that can modify
sample rates and buffer sizes and set them
all to exactly the same settings.
I noticed that when the switch between
external interface and internal speaker happened
AUM would show a sample rate of 48khz
when I write and record solely at 44.1kHz.
@rs2000
A question.
BM3 doesn't sync properly in Ableton mode.
It's off by about 2 x 8ths when using Ableton Link
without or without Start/Stop.
