That's correct. So just release the open beta to the App Store and we'll sort through the bugs together.

It's not about bugs, but conversation time * number of testers :) We discuss all aspects.

This is a well known fact. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mythical_Man-Month

Deluge is lovely with anything, it’s USB class compliant (just no audio over usb, unfortunately) — you can buy a USB host adapter for $5 or $10, and so long as you use a power adapter on the Deluge while it’s in host mode, it should send bi-directional midi to the iPad over usb. Otherwise just use the 5-pin din ports to/from.

Transferring samples to/from deluge is a breeze if you have a microSD card reader for iPad — I currently use 64gb, but I’ve heard 256gb works fine — perhaps larger.

the only drawback for sampling is that it only has a single 1/4th input. It also takes some getting used to working without a screen, but it didn’t take me long to get the hang of it — everything is very straightforward and logical, you can easily intuit most of the interface without having to study manual — just watch a couple youtube guides and you’ll be up and running in minutes.

(Correction: I was mistaken - it does accept a single stereo 1/4th input)

Sounds great! And I plan to do the same with my iPad - use it as a source for samples and for effects for the Deluge and my OP-1. And I'll use the iPad for DRAMBO, of course! I'll stop derailing this small thread with OT comments now :)

Did I mention that sequencer has an ielectribe style motion recorder that records as p locks values? You move a pot while sequencer is running/recording and the motion gets played back. Very useful performance tool IMO.

Is the playback of the locked parameters smoothed or stepped? Maybe user’s choice?!

Hey @Eschatone could you provide the link for the $5 or $10 USB host adapter? Thanks

  • Ha, I finally worked out the step components ‘parameter lock’ thing and it’s genius.

What I was missing is that you’re setting a step condition (for example, activating a p-lock only once every 3 cycles) TO the parameter lock that you have already placed on that step, not actually choosing what to p-lock with the parameter lock module itself in the components section.

So in my example, let’s say I set a parameter lock of max filter cutoff to step 5. I can then go to my step conditions for step 5 and set up the following modules order to achieve the result I want:

    • MIDI note (there by default when there’s a trig), then Cycle condition (set to 3), then ‘Parameter lock’.

What happens now is that step 5 will play normally with no p-lock at all for the first 2 cycles, and then on the third cycle the parameter lock I previously set (the full filter cutoff) will play.

  • edited December 2019

@Michael_R_Grant Yes all p-locks are in a single component for now. I'm considering component per p-lock. btw. lets use email.

So, if Drambo is working so great.. why not release it to the public.. we know there may be some shortcomings... but, it’s ok.. release the app......... please..

There's still a few things to sort out that would impact on the user experience.

Well, I so happy I did not get excited about this thread/app for 1 1/2 years..

I am now.. Looking forward to it..

  • Ola much floating minds about and around the cyber space? One great idea is to make this app to have a midi flight space simulator. Basically the cockpit of levers and knobs is just a modular synth but there is a small window to fly around primitive 1980s era graphics. But like vaporware. Basically the tesla truck from mad max can be modded with space x rockets and then we add the modular synth cockpit. Hails to drabo a life of mayhem and glory!

  • Will it be IOS11 or higher? 12? I’m sure the answer is here in these 87 pages somewhere... but if someone has that info handy very appreciated.

  • did i miss it? is it out? or 2021??

  • @giku_beepstreet : I say wait .. As long as we’ve waited this long, get it as close to perfect as you can. It’s horrible seeing a great app w all kinds of bugs in it. Don’t make the BM3 mistake. I can wait

    Wise words!

  • I wouldn't release this until there is a new product in the pipeline.

  • I read on Twitter I think that they are having to redo the color scheme away from purple due to a recently released app. Lots of little hurdles!
