Your lucky stars have all aligned. There are blue skies and smooth sailing ahead. So throw your worries away, and get ready for DM2 to bring endless fun and blissful joy to your face. Your colleagues and friends will be amazed at the new you, wondering how your fingers produce such ravishing beats. Strangers may come up to you in cafés and ask you, “That rhythm sounds like heaven. How do you do that?”. Life can be good, so tap your feet, shake your head and let’s start making some groovy electronic beats with DM2.
DM2 has been made by the core team that brought you DM1, one of the consistent best selling drum machines for iPad, awarded with an Apple Design Award in 2012. If DM1 was cool, DM2 is ice cold.
Now let’s talk business. DM2 contains 6 pages. Each page does 1 thing. Or perhaps 2.
A BIG, BIG STEP SEQUENCER. 16 or 32 step patterns. Or why not 7 or 25 steps? Or even polymetric tracks (poly what? no worries, just a fancy word for complex rhythms, yet super easy to make). And while we are at it, steps can also be singles, duplets, triplets or quadruplets for even sophisticated rhythms. Again it is all about drawing funny objects to make funky beats.
THE DRUMS PAGE. Where the sonic magic happens. Six touchable graphs to create sounds. Oscillators, LFOs, filters, noise generators, all the usual suspects in a drawable interface. This may look a tiny bit daunting at first, but the beauty is that whatever you touch, you’re not going to break anything. So give everything a whirl, and get experimental. And if you need some inspiration, DM2 contains plenty of ready-made sounds too.

DM2 is fully MIDI-mappable with more than 130 assignable parameters that can be controlled by an external MIDI controller.

I don't think they've even done that, they've just closed the old account and opened a new one so you no longer have access to updates.

I deleted DM2 from my iPad long time ago as I felt it doesn't provide anything 'unique'.
I would love to know what apps on ios sound like DM2. Maybe Elastic Drums?
AppStore says £3.99, but it’s there in my list of purchased apps, free download, v1.8.8 updated 4 days ago.

Yep, for those that have the old one installed, delete it first then you can install the newest- (which has the update cloud icon on the app page)
A recent update (mistakenly) made an iPhone version available which opened the app on the phone to a broken black page. The developer mentioned they were trying to get this sorted out, so perhaps this is part of them and apple trying to get it sorted?
I did notice though that there is now a DM2 - The Drum Machine (The old one that I own and updated 4 d ago) and a new one called DM2 The Drum Machine which is ¥490. Not sure what is up...
Hehe the app description sounds like a work in progress, likely they are fixing it blah blah blah... lol
Jeez, if this gets AU with automation I would be a happy campy. Even responding to midi channels per instrument channel would be nice.

He is really deeply disappointed how Apple behaved in this regard. Everyone who bought and had the normal DM2 version and contact him... Apple wasn’t helpful at all in this issue and this forced him to take these steps.

I did indeed contact the dev.
He promptly replied and was rather helpful.
Looking forward to when it becomes an AU.
So what is the dev saying? Seems inefficient for a ton of people to bug him on email. Is it getting fixed on the App Store so that the old version is restored?
So what happens now? Do we still get support and updates for the app we've bought or what?
The old version has been removed from
the App Store as previously stated.
The best way most probably is to contact the dev like I did.
I would recommend taking a screenshot to show that you've got the app
already and I'm sure he will be able to provide you with a promo code.
You could ask for a refund from Apple but that
would most likely impact upon his income.
The choice is yours.
Think I will reinstall DM1... just in case...
But why has he created a new product? Usually if there's a problem with Apple and an app, it'll be taken down, but then reappear when it's been fixed or resolved.
I downloaded from my purchased apps and it’s the same version as is on the App Store. It’s also now showing on the App Store DM1 page that I own it. No price, just the download symbol. It showed a price earlier today.
If I view the app on the store it's showing a price, not a download icon. Do I need to update the version I have for this to change to a download/purchased icon?
I don't want to update it just in case it mucks something up and then I can't get access to an update.

Apple forced him to delete the original app and
recreate the app as ,'DM2 The Drum Machine',
hence the discrepancy.
He did try Apple support but due to the lack of support
for indie developers he had to take this measure.
This is as much as we all know now.
Hopefully an App Store screw up. Not OK behaviour from the dev otherwise!!
