Wish i could see more videos on this especially on getting less acid bass sound out of the bass sequencer.

Anyone using Pure Acid for hip hop?

On the fence with some Christmas funds, but eyeing that baseline sequencer. Just don’t really produce anything like what most of the videos demonstrate.

I’ve been playing with it trying to get non ‘acid’ sounds out of it. You can get a sound almost like a palm muted bass/guitar from the bass module. The drum sequencer has samples from 808,909 etc. I reckon you could definitely do hip hop if you use the au

    Try something like this:

Basically turned everything down. Then try adding a subtle amount of distortion etc.

Or this.. we can share presets you-know...

    😇

  • Gestrument Pro is really sweet as well. I can see it being an amazing compositional tool. Glad I picked it up, especially at the price. An absolute steal.

Transcends politics ... but at the same time something uniquely human to it - making music. It's why all decent rebellions start with songs.

I find the co-operative, enthusiastic atmosphere here deeply invigorating - like a massage or a spa. Reminds me what we can be when we are allowed to be human.

A grand justification for my chronic Appaholism ... it's my way of chipping in - making a contribution to a very interesting, rapidly evolving fusion of technology and human nature.

I reckon that's profoundly political down deep.

    My head the last 5minutes:

“Better check in on the holiday sale thread, see if there are any new last minute deals I might want in on....I wonder ..if beatmaker or cu...

    reads most recent few posts

“....well true it’s all Geopolitics at the core...is it? And commercialism, co-operatives, identity and self reflection, the role music plays in grassroots political movements and rebellions, is punk rock dead? Is it better to burn out than to fade away? This is not my beautiful house, Well. How did I get here!?”“

You all sure know how to sidetrack a guy! :)

    Looperverse $2.99

Sounds like a lot of my other synths to be honest, but has a really good interface and is a steal at 2.99

I still have a Casio CZ-3000. It was my first synth, bought new back in the 80s.

I'm looking to get it resurrected. It needs new batteries.

They'll cost about the same as Phase84.

So is another Phase DIstortion synth (Nikolozi NPD). I wonder which one captures the rawness of the Casio CZ the best. The Casios could easily fool some 'analog purists'.

Phase 84 is universal, NPD is iPad only. I didn't look further than that. I'm using my phone more than my iPad for Music creation these days and appreciate universal apps much more.

  • Manifesto soon!

    HAHA!

That's a good question which I asked too. But at 2.99, I didn't have a phase distortion synth already, it has an interesting trance gate type thing and a couple of other features which means it could find a unique place in my setup.

Some of the presets had a unique timbre which is what helped me towards a purchase.

  • Wow! What a beautiful sounding Synth! Love it!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Hmmm...tempted.

  • Resistance is futile😳😳😳😳😳😳🤣🤣🤣🤣🎹❤️🎁

  • I’m not really a Retronyms fan, but since they made Phase84 AU I figure it’s worth giving a bit of support to encourage good behavior.

It’s definitely able to bring a darker, edgier sound, which is great for pads and trance leads, as well as some really fat sounding basses.

Yeah, that's one of my main reasons to be honest.

    Hmmm...

Yep, I recall Tabletop as being a bit of a clunky faff way back when & have never delved into any of their others but as with all iOS synths, this one has it’s own thing going.
Def worth a sale price point punt !

  • Tonally formerly Circle of Fifths has dropped to $3.99

  • Pretty happy with Phase84, I love the basses you can get out of it
