  • Still looks very useful though, instabuy from me.

@auxmux Thanks a lot for the info, i‘m going to try it right after typing this comment 😀

    .

    ⏲ 5 minutes later:

Yay - drag & drop from files app in slide-over view into EG Pulse running in an AUM window really works 👍🏻

That’s cool and super convenient to assign and mix-match the drum sample packs i‘ve stored on the iPad. Pre-Listening in the Files app also works, but needs some taps. AudioShare‘s preview is simpler, but it seems AS doesn‘t support drag&drop to other apps.

I believe Auditor running on iOS 13 has an enhanced files slide-over with preview - though I’m stuck on iOS 12 so can’t test.

    No timestretch it seems...

It has pitch and time buttons so should timestretch like pulse does

  • Yes looks like along the bottom Shot, Time, Pitch, Slice, Detect, Divide, Keys, May be wrong. Record at the top maybe I’m sure it’s gonna be a winner.

  • I think if someone brings a Serato type sampler to iOS they would make a mint.

    I’d buy that for sure!

  • Ooh I hope it has slice export too like ReSlice

Cool. Then I’m interested now (timestretch wasn’t obvious on the video)

    Edit... Multi-out and Pitch.... Wow

    PreOrders?

  • since it's not hardware what would be the reason for pre-orders, just curious?

  • Why is there no #velocity tag? Hopefully just an oversight.

Maybe it is a given? But yah, never assume anything is a given heh.

  • It should be a given I agree, lol. And yet, virsyn still haven't added it one year later, so who knows :p

This is pretty common now. Developers are marketing their apps and often include a discount at launch.

  • Did anyone notice whether pre-ordering Phazer was actually cheaper than buying on release in the end?

  • But yeah. Pre-order is not something I'd like to encourage among developers, people should really get the right to see the manual and hear of the pros and cons from reviewers before buying. As mentioned, it is not hardware, Pre-order discounts are a bit manipulative I think.

  • Pre-order is fantastic for indie devs. Give them some revenue to help push the final product.

  • Hardware has bugs at launch too. I'm not opposed to it, but it's been happening more frequently recently. It's a good way to front load sales. Some users may hold off from buying until there's a sale though, so that's a downside. Ultimately, it's up to devs and users to decide accordingly.

oh I see, the discount makes sense in that case I guess

Other than possible AUv3, what would be difference between Serato Sampler and Beatmaker 3? Asking out of curiosity.

I will no longer preorder apps for this reason. There is no way to know if an app is going to do exactly what you want before it’s released and I’ve made wrong presumptions on new apps before so the preorder “discount” no longer appeals to me especially if the price is supposed to go up once the app is released.

Doesn't it also depend on the track record of the developer: @FredAntonCorvest, @brambos, or @ElliottGarage? You support them and also get a "friends" discount.
You can safely expect the app to show you it's value?

I'm not really speaking to @yowza here... but to other potential supporters of a high value developer's new release.

  • I almost always wait at couple days, just to hear initial reports/issues. Although I’ve broken this rule a few times too.

  • Or if I know what I’m getting into based on developer reputation....

  • Is it ready yet? How ‘bout now? 🙂

Exactly this. Can’t speak for FAC as Phazer is my first of his apps. But @brambos, @ka010, ToneBoosters, and Erik Sigth have all built up enough confidence and trust that I’d pre-order anything that looks useful on faith based on previous experiences. I’m hesitant to say that with EG because I only have one of his apps, but he’s extremely responsive so that gives me some confidence.

Well, I may not have money when it is released.. Covid-19 economy... ;)
Really, it's just a good way of showing support for a great developer..

I do agree. I mean, when an app comes out that I've been looking forward to it's highly unlikely that I'll be able to hold off on buying it for a few days, just not gonna happen. And for sure there are devs like FAC and Bram Bos who you know build rock solid instabuys. But still....

  • so is it coming out this week? what kind of timeline we talking here. it looks fun
