Has happened few times, usually with the same couple of apps. Also happened with audiokits D1 and its only started working for me recently though is sometimes blank
great thanks!
@Lil_Stu07
@MatthewAtZenbeats
Thanks for clarifying, guys..
@MatthewAtZenbeats, are per track audio routing options and mix busses on the Zenbeats roadmap? If not I‘d really put that on the list very high. It‘s IMHO one of the big missing features to make Zenbeats a real DAW. Now that I have an audio device I‘m missing that badly.
I second this, was making a track today and couldn't help miss the ability to make a drum bus etc
Also @MatthewAtZenbeats have you address the issue of apps fitting in the window when this option is selected.
Yep. Both of those features are on the roadmap.
What issue are you referring to?
That‘s great news! Keep evolving Zenbeats.
Can anyone help
When I add a midi effect to a channel I can get note data just fine but not midi cc
For example rozetta baseline works just fine in playing a midi sequence to say troublemaker
But if I have rozetta lfo and set the cc control to the relevant number for cut-off resonance etc there is no change to those values
Can I not send midi cc data? Or is there a workaround I need to do? I know about deselecting pre midi fx so I can record in a midi effect but again it only seems to be note data
Thanks for any help
I think you have to uncheck the ‘Block All Raw MIDI CCs’ option on the Midi FX. See this thread: https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/34795/roland-zenbeats-by-roland-corporation-auv3/p43
Thanks, i had tried that but sadly nothing. Soon as i add the likes of Mozaic or any cc midi effect the sounds goes dead unless its a note generator
Back to drambo it seems
I am talking about the AU app fitting in the plug in window when you choose the option for floating au plugin
When are we going to be able to cc control the drum parts with an external midi controller?
The only thing I can map at this point is the mute and solo button, but for the entire drum kit. I tried to map the velocity for each drum part individually, but not working...
Does anyone know if there's actually a way to delete (ie. completely remove from the device) the downloaded factory content?
I've tapped the 'trash' in under the 'My Content' on all packs I do not wish to have on the device but it has no effect on the amount of storage ZenBeats uses on my iPad?!
Why is there even a 'trash' symbol when all it does is to remove the files from the 'preset-lists' but leaves the content on the device? (For me it's about ~2GB of 'stuff' that is worth nada which I can't remove without deleting the app).
For some odd reason the downloaded content is hidden so I can not manually delete them downloaded files.
(I know it's paranoid IP protection so no one will steal the samples yada yada).
Only way to solve this is to delete the app completely and make sure 'auto download' is disabled on the next install, if I decide to re-install it...
Cheers!
Yep, I have the same problem @Samu. It’s another one for the list @MatthewAtZenbeats. Zenbeats is now the biggest app on my device. I’m on ultimate, so I checked out a lot of stuff and now it’s using up gigabytes.
This issue plagues other apps as well so it is an 'iOS/iPadOS' issue since Apple thinks they know how to mange storage and yet fail to delete corrupted cache files and other garbage that gets left behind and the only 'solution' they offer from their 'Apple Geniuses' is to 'Delete & Reinstall' which is just super lame...
Other 'big' apps on my iPad that suffer from the same bugs are BeatHawk (~4GB), GarageBand (3.7GB), AudioCopy (2,5GB with just a few packs left totaling maybe 80MB), ZenBeats went down after I logged out and logged in again but still at 2GB after 'removing' everything that could be removed in the store. And a few other 1-2GB apps that need to be re-installed to clean out the slack...
My wish for 2021 is that iOS15/iPadOS15 gets a revamped 'maintenance' features allowing global app cache clear for starters.
(My 'Other' fluctuates between 6-9GB and I don't know what it stores, it's not storage containers as they are listed separately).
And even though I try to do housekeeping as good as I can to get a few GB's free the 'Other' keeps eating it up...
(Currently storage is 62,3GB of 64GB used and it's NOT fun considering 'other' is >15GB and I can't do sh*t about it).
Oh well, I guess I'll just delete more stuff or something...
Cheers!
@Samu Launch the app and stop at the welcome screen. Click the three bars in the upper left, then “My Stuff”. You should see all the content you’ve downloaded with a trash can next to each pack. Pretty sure that’ll do what you want.
Sorry, I forgot a step. Open “Store “, then “My Stuff “.
That is what I have done but it has no effect on the storage used by the app
I was able to clean up some of this junk by following the popular advice to make a backup, factory reset the device and then restore the backup. I have a 32 GB device and storage is my biggest pain. Its such a waste that external storage can’t be used like internal storage. I think for music production you shouldn’t have less than 128 GB. I saved some money and I‘ll buy the 2021 iPad pro with 256 GB and then I hope that will ease the pain.
That’s why I have 3.6 GB in the documents and data in Dropbox and another 1GB in google Chrome.
Clearing the cache within the app does not remove this excessive data ☹️ I need to delete and reinstall them.
Same happened to cubasis 3. I don’t know when, but its occupied space has doubled in the last couple of months despite I definitely did not create such huge projects. Obviously I will not carry out this delete and reinstall procedure with CB3...
Yeah and not to mention another 'amazing' company who's name also start with Rnyms something where AudioCopy and iMPC Pro 2 are prime examples of how to NOT do file management.
When you 'Audio Paste' a pack from AudioCopy to iMPC Pro 2 it's not duplicated once but twice, same when you export from iMPC Pro to AudioCopy, 3 copies like WTF, seriously...(One copy 'Documents', another into 'iTunes filet trasnsfer' and a 3rd to AudioCopy).
I also feel that there is a BUG in iOS/iPadOS as the iPad Storage calculation doesn't seem to care if one deletes files manually...
Oh well, I'm just doing the regular iPad housekeeping at the moment deleting apps that take up too much space and apps I don't use anymore. Saved almost 10GB's so far...
Cheers!
Velocity? I don't understand how mapping would work for velocity.
Velocity is a per-note value that's sent with each note. It's not a continuous value like Volume. You can't change velocity with a cc. I must be misunderstanding what you mean I think.
Sorry, yes you’re right. I meant volume per drum part. Control each drum part independently , but not only through mutes and solos...
I don’t even think it’s possible to mute or solo just the kick or any other drum parts . ( midi mapping)
There is a gain knob, that cannot be mapped and it represents the waveform of that sample.
A 256 gb iPad, I gave up and now pay for iCloud storage... seems like a good deal, they don’t do it properly but we pay our way around.
iOS storage and file management is crap, even worse, it’s obscure crap.
The “app sandbox” file system is supposed to be some sort of security concept, in reality it means you end up copying files over and over in an unmanageable mess and bloated backups.
If there’s a virus or malware in “snare2.wav” it doesn’t matter if it’s in an external drive or you imported in Drambo, it’s just an extra step and mess. Cache system is inefficient and you have no control, iCloud storage is “all or nothing” unless you duplicate backups (system and per app). It’s a money drain.
Do you mean that you have got a 256 GB device and still have not enough storage? I‘m not so much in favor of iCloud as I do not want to be dependent on network connectivity for music making.
The “256gb iPad” was referring to your comment. I have a 128gb.
Regarding iCloud, I got it cos my iPad died and I lost all my data, unless you’re very methodic with backups it’s necessary. It is in my case. And iCloud backups are, IMO, very inefficient. The “iPad” backup contains an a image of the iPad with all app data, but if you want to manage data “per app” that requires a separate data space, which means it’s duplicated.
Hey, all! Sorry for noob question, but how can I route audio to Zenbeats from AUM to récord audio loops. Is there any connection scheme?
@bot0vod, you are lucky. There had just been a thread where musicians discussed utilizing Sonobus to connect AUM and Zenbeats. There is still the issue to figure out how to compensate the latency.
https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/43076/use-sonobus-to-expose-daw-tracks-to-aum
Very thanks for sharing information! Will try to figure out how to do it in my case! But still - having an opportunity to record incoming audio signal from other app using network/IAA is great feature to have on any DAW, smoothly flow can be build using such features.
