Sure, we'll look at that. Makes sense having specific midi mappings according to each LK project.
Yes, thats a problem. Right now, when you map something in LK, it will respond to whenever device that sends the same assign midi message. We aren't saving the device with the mapping information. Right now that fix isn't easy, we can't simply add that guard to out mapping system, but we will definitely take that into consideration when we make the refactor!
We'll take that into account. You're suggesting some kind of midi mapping system similar on what we have in the Controller Module. Thanks for your feedback
Can you assign different modules in LK to different channels in AUM simultaneously? Like, can the pads be controlling Fractal Bits while the keyboard plays Agonizer within the same instance?
Yes, you can. You can set independent midi channels for each module
Tempo issue is fixed, display glitch not fully but this is a very minor issue.
I’ve just been trying to work out if I can have long clips playing that will control AUM channel volume parameters but I’m having little luck so far - did anyone ever manage this, or is it not possible? I’m thinking that I might set myself up with a nice template if I can as it’d be one way to push more long pieces out, and also any MIDI made at the awn’s time should mooch over to ableton with ease later...
I just noticed that I get quite a huge bump in CPU usage when I switch the view to any of the controller compared to Matrix. Anyone seeing the same?
I think I kinda figured this out last night somehow - I think I needed to add an au to the track to get aum to sniff out the volume CC being sent. So, I’ve built up a little four track setup that has two LK tracks for each audio track; one long clip has volume in it (and potentially much else, pan, other cc days, or even notes) and then one alongside that can do clip building...
I’ll see how it works, I could even share it as an aim file if anyone’s looking to do the same and is stuck.
I usually have an AUM automation track in LK where I do volume changes and stuff. So you have an “intro” scene where you ramp the volume, etc… it might be handy to have some of these “outside” your regular song parts so you can trigger them at will, for example an automation clip that mutes certain tracks and that you trigger whenever.
That’s quite a smart way to do it, nice one 👍
Is there a way to easily mute a clip? Like in Gadget for example. It’s always possible to delete a clip, but it’s more flexible to just mute it. This and follow actions (and CC automations) allows for a nice and flexible song mode, trying easily new arrangements with mute option. Muted clips should have dimmed color for better visualisation.
Feature request @xglax
You can't mute a clip, but you can mute the clip's track, that will mute all clips of the selected track. This will be the same as a clip mute because only one clip can be playing per track (unless you have some other usage for a clip mute)
To mute a track you just have to open mixer:

and then click here:

When the track is muted, this rectangle with the track's name will be greyed out, just like in the picture
Clip muting is something I was also thinking of requesting. LK became my main sequencer, I don't see it as just a clip launcher and I guess it's the same for many other users. So, while track muting is great, when I am creating a song I like to check different scenarios. E.g. in one scene I could have a clip on track 1 playing, but in another scene I want to try without it, but I still want to keep the clip in case I change my mind later. This is where clip muting would be very handy.
Thanks. Clip muting is really more useful. Imagine using scenes follow actions to create a song. It’s possible to duplicate some scenes and mute some clips here and there to add some arrangement variations, and with clip mute you can try various combinations. Alternative is to delete clip. But if you change your mind how can you do? You will have to keep at least a backup scene to copy paste again that clip. Track muting is useless in that scenario, you can need to have scene 1 playing 4 bars without drum and bass and automated follow action same scene 1 (duplicated) playing 4 bars with all tracks unmuted.
@Janosax @branis
Makes sense. I'll talk to @sinosoidal
We have update LK to version 1.11.0. This is what changed:
As always, thanks for your feedback!
By the way, LK is on sale (40% off all modules) until next thursday (13/08/2021)
Thanks .. digging in..
Crap, 84 pages of comments left to go through... UBRIDGE can see my iPhone through a non-powered USB hub into my mini. It doesn’t see my iPad through the same connection. [EDIT: For whatever reason my iPad is visible today.] Ideally I would use my iPad through my iConnect 4c into my mini, but so far I haven’t figured out how. UBRIDGE does recognize the connections from my iConnect both in and out but the iPad never shows up as a surface. It does in WiFi. After perusing the manual, this looks like an amazing app and a very useful addition to my Ableton setup, I just don’t want to lose my audio from my pad to use LK. Any suggestions? Great Work! Lk rulzz!
A question.
Does the ,'Midi Controller', IAP enable editing of midi controllers.
Case use, using it to edit the LaunchControl XL mki.
There is still a bug in LK that bothers me: the FOLLOW ACTIONS for NOTES in a clip are not saved (nor statesaved) for a preset. (iPad pro 10.5; latest IOS). It's even visible: when the (clip)PROPERTIES sidebar is open and I've set the FOLLOW ACTION for NOTES to fe. 'Generate Melody' and then save the session, the FOLLOW ACTION is (automatically) set to 'None' again...
Please @sinosoidal , can you look into this? Thank you.
@xglax Matrix cells height and width settings again are not properly saved in AUM, perhaps an iPadOS update?
Also there is another annoying state saving issue: because of LK is not filtering midi inputs for midi learning feature, I have to use AUM midi learning instead. I use pedalboard and virtual port to trigger LK scenes. But when I load again an AUM session, all scenes triggers are lost except scene 1. I suppose this is because LK load state saving after AUM session load. I don’t know if something can be done here, except for a proper LK midi input filtering to use LK midi learning instead.
After learning scenes triggers:
After loading again AUM session:
Waiting for that fix, I was able to fix my issue with MidiFire midi notes clones allowing me to use LK internal midi learn, without changing GTL midi settings:
GTL + LK is a nice audio + midi LIVE like looper!!!
Can I buy the midi controller and automate/record automation with CC as an AUv3 inside AUM? Can I do this with out buying the matrix or unlocking anything else?
I’m curious about this as well?
There is another app for cc editing your launchcontrol xl…I forgot its name though
Here it is https://apps.apple.com/us/app/midisynth-control/id1366849280
MidiSynth Control.
It does a great job.
I use it regularly for both the LP X and the LC XL.
No. It's for sending midi messages from on-screen controls.
(btw, you can try it for free)
Yep…ultra useful
Ahhh.....that will explain why it didn't work the way I expected then.
I was sitting there moving the faders on the LC XL looking at the screen
wondering what was I doing wrong.??
It's a midi controller in itself.
Now I get it.
Thank you.
