Hope you get well soon
This would suggest that Launchpad V2 will use the same audio engine as Wave.
Having 2 apps makes sense from the point of view that they are doing 2 different jobs, one for performance of compiled loops, one for compiling those loops. You end up with a smaller app footprint (less RAM usage), i.e you do not need all the code and UI for getting down and dirty with individual loops when you are performing with them, just like you do not need the code and UI for syncing and triggering and adding live effects to 64 loops when you are trying to find the perfect loop points in a single loop or which loops work well together.
If you do want it all at the same time, then load both apps and use Link to sync them
If you have a launchpad controller, turn it upside down
The future is bright, the future is orange
(Anyone remember that lol)
Yeah, I forgot to mention that I was talking in a studio perspective but you still have dubstep
Yeah I remember it
I will raise you 'get busy with the fizzy'
Great to hear! Cheers.
I never did get one of those things, my auntie had one, i thought they tasted horrid, and now every pub and fast food place has them, and they all taste horrid lol. So mainly now I drink coffee and beer
O Yes they taste blooming awful
It is neither dub nor can you step to it, so why is it called dubstep
Pubstep would be more apt - the sound of drunks falling out of the pub - well worth recording
except for the fact that Blocs Wave is actually a completely different instrument, it's not meant to be a utility/editor/prep app although it can certainly be used for that... The Launchpad app is a grid based performance app ala the monome (minus the follow actions)... but the Blocs Wave app is a sample slicing app more akin to Egoist but the plans the Novation devs have for it will make it much better than egoist is now, they've been pretty open about the upcoming features of Blocs. It's going to have slicing on steroids, and swell as sequencing of those slices in new and interesting ways, and you will be able to record your performances as well... + it's going to have some great fx as well, and Link.
I think they might even be looking into accessing the slices with the launchpad mini at least I think I remember them considering it. At any rate what we have here are two very different and very cool performance/ production apps on the way that will compliment one another but are meant to stand on their own.
Great efforts coming from the Novation team. Great to hear.
Novations life blood is innovation, they are always on the edge of things, the next couple of months are going to be great!
Yes Blocs Wave IS far more than a recording/prep app for Launchpad, but it was conceived out of Blocs/Novation trying to create a recording/prep app for Launchpad, they said as much in the release material.
My point was merely that I don't think they should not be combined into a single app even though the core audio engine between the two will be basically be the same in terms of function, everything else around the audio engine is different.
I have seen in the past the larger music and audio companies, Novation included, being ridiculed for not taking iOS seriously and for merely using iOS apps as a way to sell iOS users their 'proper grown up' products.
I think that the release of Blocs Wave and the info we have been given today regarding Launchpad places Blocs/Novation firmly at the forefront of those who ARE taking iOS seriously, and as such they should be celebrated and thanked.
So, THANK YOU BLOCS and NOVATION

Agree @AndyPlankton
With all this in mind.
Think two iPads Linked changing between Launchpad sets DJ style, with Blocs on each iPad playing the waves live.
Hook up two Launchpad hardware units.
Throw in a lead guitar player and some vocals.
Great modern jamming setup
Pubstep, LMAOOOOO
Hic, Burrrrrp, Burrrp Hic

Plus your involvement on this forum does show you guys care.
Looking forward to the updates!

No way....used to love Cresta
Did this happen?
90%? Aside fx (eq is in the next release) what other things you miss from that description?
You guys still checking in here?
It’s been a while. Loads of forum threads on all 3 apps.
Any news on existing feature requests?
Cheers.
