Thanks for the info and patch  - very helpful. It's not so much an issue with the controller itself, but the way it's working with other apps when I try and record.

i just tried again: loaded up nave and Poseidon, and edited a TC Data patch and got a really lovely thing going. Loaded Nave, Poseidon into Audiobus using MiMix to route them into Audioshare, and it all goes to pot. It goes without saying now that I have to eject and reload everything into AB to work, but even once they're all working the controller becomes unusable: the lovely sounding patch is crackling and leaping about in volume, before Nave gives up and goes silent.

Not sure how you're recording, but this isn't working for me, the controller app seems to throw a wibbly once Audiobus is in the mix. Maybe I'll try Auria...but that's usually worse with multiple live tracks.

    My pleasure regarding the patch.
I have used MiMix in the past but not with Nave and Poseidon at the same time. I typically start up the apps I am interested in recording in Audiobus and record into MultiTrackDaw (48khz, 24bit) directly without MiMix these days to keep it simple.  I set the levels as best I can in MTD before recording. If I want to further mix I move the tracks to Auria.  The soundcloud examples are just m4a exports from MTD.  IPad Air 1 with iOS 8.4.  I am evaluating an iPad Pro at this time.  I believe iOS 9.1 has issues as I have occasional issues with audio and a similar workflow.  But I am patient and love the pro for the type things I like to do.  Picked up Cyclops on the current sale and must say it really looks, sounds, and feels brilliant on the pro (even though cyclops is not my thing normally).
  • Cyclops is on my list too. I'll wait for the next sale with both TC-Data and this. Yes I will. Damn it :{| Time to stop reading these sales threads.

Too late, TC is no longer on sale, oh well, hope the fence holds in this wind.

Ours is in bits from the last few storms, I need to put a new one up anyway.

Not sure I'd get Data now I know what a struggle it's been, but I'm well chuffed with TC-11. I've still got a long way to go before I get Data to pay its way.

Had 11 awhile, yep a synth that sits in it's own genre, a classic, wasn't sure about Data though, my fence too is weather worn, but still I'm sure you'll find a means to sit upon it.

    Nuh-uh....
  • I was going to buy TC-11 and TC Data today, they are both OFF sale now? It's not even Cyber Monday yet. I surely cannot afford regular price. Oh well?
  • @monzo Could your problems with Data and Mimix be with Mimix's midi? Are your Data patches transmitting CC#s connected to the levels and knobs etc?
  • @Moderndaycompiler Thank you for the TC-Data patch. While not the kind of music I would listen to, certainly fun to set up the suggested apps and jam. Fun patch. Ta.

Ahh....good point, that might be it, and would explain the volume issues at least. Thanks, I'll check that out and see if I can close the connection between the two,

    Hi @monzo,

have You tried fiddling with the MIDI settings in MiMiX? By default MiMiX listens on all incoming MIDI ports including Network MIDI so if TC Data is sending CCs on that interface MiMiX might catch them and behave like You mentioned - turning mute and solo on and off, changing volumes etc. Try turning Network MIDI and TC Data MIDI in ports off and see if that helps first. Please tell me if it helped.

    Thanks, Peter

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for the reply - @SpookyZoo suggested this as well and it does sound like the culprit, why @Moderndaycompiler didn't have an issue with MTD and it worked fine when I recorded into Auria. Thanks for the additional info - I'll try this out later after work.

Hi Peter, just tested this - switched off MiMiX MIDI and it seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks again for your help.

  • @monzo good to hear that it was a simple fix. Feel bad for the folk who were fence sitting though. Missing out on 2 great and unique apps, TC-Data and TC-11 at those sale points might cause an itch down the line.

My initial fence sitting was caused by a lack of videos for TC-Data - hardly any at all, and very few audio examples. If it hadn't been for @moderdaycompiler sharing their examples I wouldn't have bought it.

i think the devs need to sort their promotion out - it's a great app, but potential buyers need more examples if what it can do.

  • @monzo I agree. TC-Data sales would benefit a lot from some 'how to' video tuts.
