    @Kaikoo, nice song! Very relaxing.

    Thank you, theconnactic, ;)

  • @Kaikoo very nice track!

  • "Poly" is an app - in case anyone was wondering. A very underrated one at that.

Yes, my new found serious toy, it is compatible with AP. IAP for Midi function (not iclude audio copy paste, soundcloud) is $2. it has 5 separate adjustable midi channels. You can record multiple midi channels driven by AP. You can adjust octave, velocity, on the panels, and moves circles to the center to automatically speed up the steps. maximum step is 32.

Need some patient to understand how it works for entry level. Once you knew how that works, it is so easy to adjust melody that you may not expected! Very easy to make a song on Auria with POLY.

Photo of Midi Channel selection of Poly for reference.

Looks like it has no recent update, but it is pretty stable on Air2 iOS 9.2.

  • I conversed with the dev who is of the genius variety I suspect. Very nice. Helped me with a few things (the mute doesn't actually mute the midi - I believe he confirmed that). Not sure it's really an active app in terms of updates.

But definitely worth a few dollars is you like generative midi stuff.

Is he busy on something else dya know?

  • I love Poly too, shame it's not been updated recently. I really wanted to be able to chain patterns like you can do in Patterning.

  • No idea I'm afraid Johnny.

By the way, @Matt_Fletcher_2000, your song is also very good. Congrats! The mix was very well done, too. Funny I listened to @Kaikoo's, and didn't see yours, which was at the same page and In the post immediately above.

    Thank you. You're very kind.

  • You're welcome!

  • Hey @Kaikoo

I can't get AP to sync start Fugue at all. Did you manage this? Any chance of some advice or a screen grab of settings?

I want to hit play in AP (and loop playback) and have Fugue start at the same time.

    ME TOO!

  • You can have real time effects on Auria midi track, but turn them off when you ready to record notes. 'Safe recording' :*

  • Thank you. That's really kind of you @Kaikoo. Really appreciate it.

I think the fact I had Auria looping may have cause issues. Anyway I'll follow your screen grabs. Thanks again.

Doing it now, I am here to see it works or not? I normally have 'receive notes' off, but send notes on. That was for v2.0. But I should really have 'receive note' on logically. Midi setting page is important, many people think they just adjust channel strip page for midi to work, it is not that. Midi Setting page should be applied to all midi synth apps.

  • I made recording Fugue Machine to Auria for numerous counts, it is a safe practice to use Fugue on Auria.

Thank you kind Doctor Captain! I am all about the safe practices (these days)...

  • Just for the record, the song I posted yesterday already had more than 100 views. A huge shout-out to this community of iOS musicians, since I posted this link nowhere but here. :D

    All the best!

Haha, you got it in one! Gadget is the only daw on the ipad with an interface that actually works. I think Both Auria and Cubasis could learn a lot from the elegant interface.

Don't forget nanostudio :) that dev nailed it years ago.

OK, just for the ever demanding @johnnygoodyear i've spent the last couple of hours adding said 'drowned cinematic piano' to the track. I'm nothing if not obliging :)

Actually I think it was a good call from Johnny I hope.

So - as above (2 instances of Twin 2) but now with added Lyra factory grand piano soaked in AudioReverb.

I also did a bit of ProQing and ProCing in parts and stuck some limiter on the master.

or if you're having problems: https://m.soundcloud.com/matt-fletcher-2000/i-am-not-a-robot

Absolutely great. I really love the drum track.

  • Fugue is another intriguing app I should try someday...

  • Thanks @MirEko - very nice of you

You most certainly should. Offers even the simple beauty...

(not that you're simple, don't mean it like that, hate it when a small piece flattery turns into a potential insult...)

  • If I somehow understood it as an insult, I'd be... erh.. " simple". ;)

Good to know. Googled a little: the concept seems quite interesting!

All my usual bollocks to one side, it is beautiful and fluid. I find myself writing much more with the ears, always a good sign...

Very nice Fugue Machine, my favorite, works well on Auria Pro midi tracks!
