Yes, I then loaded several of them in Modstep and they were just fine.
So I wonder where this update is???
In our hearts and minds...
(I wonder if they had to resubmit...)
I think I will have withdrawal symptoms when it finally arrives, from doing twice/day searches in AppStore for it. Then again, there might be another app or two on the horizon to tickle my fancy. Infinite Looper by Secret Base Design for example, is the (only) other one I search for daily at the moment.
I'm just arping the heck out of everything with Cream till I can make sequences again.
Hey everyone,
As a quick update to where the update to 1.0.2 stands:
We have been rejected 3 times in a row now for being listed as a 'Made for Kids' app, which we are not. We were listed as 'Made for Kids' with the initial release, but we made sure to deactivate this flag even for the update 1.0.1 - and now we have no possibility to change it from 'Off' to 'Off' in iTunes connect before submitting.
We are now waiting for 4 days for our appeal to app review, because none of the explanations and beggings seemed to have an impact on the way the review goes.
For anyone waiting to use 1.0.2 - please send us an email to [email protected] - we will invite you to the beta which has the same version that the app store will see (hopefully very, very soon). It will be possible to interchange the beta and the app store version as soon as it is available.
We're so sorry for the way this is going and hope to have news soon. Until then: please get in touch with us to get the beta!
Come on, Apple. Seriously ?
Apple review seems to come up with bureaucratic non-sense all too frequently. When you're paying them 30% for purchasing apps through their store, you'd think they'd have things running smoother by now.
Thanks for the heads up @cblomert
Sorry Apple are being so obtuse. Though this is not a new story :-(
I have emailed, I really need some modStep action!
Re. Invite to beta for impatient modstep fans.
Ive sent them an email. What a great idea!
These guys are on the ball ( im not talking about the guys at apple review fyi)
Downloaded and about to try out...
If anyone with the 1.0.2 version wants something to try out I have an idea I have not yet managed to give a try.
Setup some patterns, using midi map assign midi notes to trigger the patterns. Then use a track to send notes to the patterns, if this works then it is pretty much a song mode of sorts. I think you will have to map the individual parts and not the scenes as the track controlling the song will also be part of the scenes.
Not tried it, just thought about it
Glad to see the dev step up here. They are very responsive with good customer service in my experience. Thanks!
i wish they have some discount for now
Cool. I have the beta now, though I haven't had a chance to try it out. Darn day job!
I was thinking of trying this as well. Hope it is possible!
I tried and failed to make it trigger its own scenes. It might be possible but in the update description it specifically says that clips and scenes are mappable to midi from external equipment. good luck
Its a pretty cool update
That's correct - currently it is only possible to trigger them via external equipment. That includes other apps though, so it might be possible to arrange something like this via MidiFlow or similar?
We are working on some features for the next update that will allow something close to a song-mode we think:
1. scene follow - the next scene will start when the longest clip in the current scene would loop for the first time
2. scene loops - each scene can individually be set to loop X times
3. start & end scene - the sequence will only play between the selected scenes (should this be loopable?)
4. modulations can be shown and changed over several clips in several scenes - the session view will show the modulation on top of the clips, from top to bottom.
if you have additional requests please let us know
Great news, thanks for adding these. I would say yes to 3. being loopable. Loopable infinitely and being able to loop x times would be useful too.
I use modstep by 'playing' the clips and scenes, I also tweak filters etc with a controller, I would like some way to record and easily re-record this performance until happy and then play it back, after realising the triggers are external only, thanks @Richtowns for pointing this out, I will probably use Cubasis for this for now, but would like an internal solution if one can be made
I am really enjoying working with Modstep, it has enabled me to start getting the most out of my many controllers and to start making tunes that sound more organic and less programmed.
Boom.... Update in store!
Phew! We had a call with the app review team just now - and modstep 1.0.2 is approved and ready for sale - it should appear on app stores soon
ppuuuuuuuuhuuuuuuuuh!
It might still be marked as a kids app, but maybe that's not so wrong? Seeing the 'what's your age thread' there might be some well educated parents around to try?
Sorry for the waiting time guys! Hope you enjoy version 1.0.2
WOOHOO!! And I just won a copy of silk! happy Day!
Just recorded loops internally and loaded via audiobus to trigger via link - joy! Thanks @cblomert
edit : had turned on momentary!....
Spoke too soon.
oh suhweeeet! recording works great and all the IAA FX load automaticaly, even on old sessions.
Nice to hear that the update is approved finally.
I have created another short video about Modstep - how to create a sample within Modstep and reuse this within the Modstep sampleplayer:

IAA's not opening for me... Effects that is
Only just got a moment to look at the Beta! I guess I should ditch it and use the store version?
@cblomert BIG thanks
