  • I'm going in...

  • Splendiferousness - Thank You @j_liljedahl

    We are ALL thrilled!

    Jonatan saved the weekend!

  • ISpark is now obeying the sync quantum. The built-in AU preset management is awesome. Synced loop end - awesome! MIDI filtering - awesome. I'm just scratching the surface and I'm blown away!

    THANKS @j_liljedahl

The update is up and running  synced recording works perfect! (having the option to do small fade in&outs inside the fileplayer would be nice to avoid those tiny clicks at the looppoints).
It will be a productive weekend for sure :) Thanks again!!

  • Big up yuhself @j_liljedahl.

  • Was loop offset available before? I really like this feature :)

    This^

  • Got it... As quick as I clicked update! Just noticed the file size on this app is 3.3 MB. This may win the award for the tiniest file size on the App Store....

  • Many thanks for this HUGE upgrade.
I was tinkering around with AUM and multiple AU windows and off screen positioning and I thought: "What would be if the AU windows position was relative to AUM view position? So, when I scroll my way from channel 1 to channel 10 I also scroll through some AU"
    Would' it be nice?

There was at least 1 MB of release notes...

Yeah, I'm opening the file in AudioShare to trim the clips and bringing them back into AUM. One extra step..

    Amazing update!

  • Now that we can have multiple AU UI's showing, it would be cool to have a nice AU oscilloscope.

  • edited March 2016

    incredible update. Big thanks!

I agree that it would be good to have an oscilloscope as insert (IAA, AU). There are a lot of oscilloscope apps, but I know only one that has 2 channels and doesn't require external hardware (it's called "Oscilloscope"). It's a standalone app.

  • Many thanks !

Good idea. But you can do some small fades in AudioShare :)

  • Splits works great with AU, maybe an octave feature would be possible alongside note range? In order to change the pitch of the sounds (like a synth on the C1-C3 note range but sounding to octaves higher). With IAA some apps work great others are impossible to work with like igrand, ielectric and sampletank as these apps won't stop listening to incoming MIDI signals, in iMIDIpatchbay I can work around this setting these apps receive MIDI channel on a different channel than the one my MIDI keyboard is set to and then iMIDIpatchbay sends the MIDI signals coming from my keyboard to all MIDI channels. Can't find a way to do something similar with AUM.

I know MIDI and live playing may not be the main purposes of AUM but this update opened this possibility and maybe could be improved.

Like a transpose setting? Yeah, interesting idea.

Not sure what you mean here. Maybe you have double connections if those apps are listening on all sources?

Yep, the next 1.2 update will focus on MIDI.

  • Spending more and more time inside AUM. Beginning to feel like a song-writing studio unto itself (before things get taken down the hall :)).

This is a seriously attentive update. Please feel free to sit on your laurels. Take a whole hour off if you'd like.

  • phat update indeed! thank you

  • Solid update, App developers take notes and see what's possible with AU

...and design and responsiveness and invention etc

  • Still don't understand why more developers don't port their Apps over to AU and new apps should have AU , it's so much easier than IAA to work.
For live use AUM is a must have for iOS musicians , it's a powerhouse of a App.

  • This is right up there with the best apps I have used on my iPad. Wow and thank you!

  • Can somebody explain how to make beat perfect loops with this new update, either I'm not understanding the concept or I'm doing something wrong. Can I set it up to record a specific length? What's the easiest way to record a straight 8 beat loop? I'm sure there's a way, what am I doing wrong?

The Head Man did explain somewhat upthread, but I did mention how as a quick vid would probably go a long way for some of us (not including you in the back-of-the-glass boys here by the way....)

  • thank you Kymatica!

Actually, I misled you. The Head Man's response/terse explanation was on another related thread. Went like this:

how do you set the loop points. I did update, but I am not seeing it?

    @j_liljedahl said:

When you start recording it wait for the next sync boundary before starting (if it was already rolling when you tap record), and same when you tap rec to stop recording. The result is a recording that's exactly the duration of a multiple of the sync quantum (defaults to 1 bar). You can then load that loop in a FilePlayer node in AUM, or send it to Sector, etc..

Going to wait for something more fulsome. Or a video :)
