Is there a metronome available for slice pad record mode?

Turn a drum track on another pad? That's what I've been doing. It quantises afterwards anyway.

Once I figured out the zoom on the slicer things got a lot more fun.

So about this: you mean to zoom in to get smaller slices?

Yep. I didn't realise that at first, on my iPhone.

Big plus for me is its on iPhone.

And it's very easy to get stuff in and out.

  • Sometimes I have a tendency to go overboard and record loops that are way too busy. Now I have a use for them

  • And on that note, great for cutting up and adding some groove to Xynthesizr loops. Perfect divisions

+1 for the user sample bank. Please! I like the app but actually rarely use it...

No user sample bank? I will join the party when that exists.

  • I love this app, and I really appreciate the attentiveness on the developer's part to improve it. I even requested a space package and they totally delivered. (More funk! Especially funky keys like a clav or some Bernie worrel type sounds).

Above all else, I wish there were effects for sound manipulation. Simple stuff. OR Linking with effects apps.

I love Blocs! Thanks for the hard work!

The way i do effects is i slice up what i want in the new slicer. send audio to AUM. add inter app effects or AU's. record that particular track. it gets saved to audioshare. you can then reimport the heavily effected version back into blocks wave on a different pad. I've saved a ton of loops in both dry and effected versions in audioshare this way so i can import them into blocs wave for each project. while an in app browser for imported and recorded clips would be nice audioshare works as a clip repository for now

  • Slice mode finally made me jump on board ;) The app's great fun! I'm not interested in premade loop IAPs myself but the ease of importing my AUM recordings of long Model 15 noodles, time stretching them accurately and then slipping the timeline, etc also lends itself to more serious production work. Far from a toy, bargain price.

  • Oh, and.....per-part basic filters of individual output ports (a là Loopy) would be a dream update...

Don't forget you can export the clips into Audioshare for direct import into Ios Daws or even Ableton,Logic etc for more complex processing. definitely worth every cent i paid for it now

Aye. That's very handy for transferring them to Auria. Love developers who are constantly pushing iOS audio forward. I think this app has a bright future.

Made a pattern I liked. Just 4 tracks. Opened them in Cubasis.

Started processing separate tracks with my IAA effects - Put a vocal sound through Vocal Rack.

Then I loaded Model 15 in Cubasis and played over the vamp with various presets.

@BiancaNeve said in an earlier thread that she was using Audioshare to keep her loops for BW. Gonna look into it.

Thank you, Blocs-heads! This is my favorite app for jamming since AUM. A real gift.

Looking forward to more updates and IAP.

I never had much use for Launchpad because I have Ableton and touchAble. But this... :)

  • Question for people who own this, can you put your own samples into it or not? Can put a synth in audiobus input and Blocs as audiobus output and record the synth part into Blocs? Basically, what options does it have for getting my own sounds into it, if any? Also, is there any kind of song mode?

You can import your own samples.
    You can record samples.
You can record from an input in Audiobus.

Yep. What he said. So 'yes' to all of your questions apart from a song mode (there's no song mode).

You import your own samples in from Audiocopy or Audioshare. (Sadly no Dropbox option yet).

  • Just had great fun recording long takes from Model 15, Patterning & TF7, with Fugue Machine sequencing the synths and all apps Linked. Filled all 8 slots & feel like I have the real basis of a track to finesse in Auria.

Not had this much creative inspiration from any app in a long time.

  • Thanks, just bought it. Seems like the best way to use this thing is to record a loop that is just a full scale of notes of an instruments that you can then play with the slicer.

And you can copy loops and run one slightly delayed from the other with different chops. Lots of fun to be had.

  • You can't input from from AUM? Only AB? Not that there's anything wrong with that, just surprised.

    Neat looking App.
Is the slicer working correctly on iOS 8? (Heard reports of problems)

    Other random thoughts/feature requests:

As others have said already, it would be great if imported and recorded user sounds could be included as part of the overall sound library and search. (As Custom sound banks even?)

I would also like to see support for regular MIDI sync for use with external hardware or a DAW for the link averse if possible.

Look forward to future evolution of this promising App, great to see community involvement from the Developers too.

This would be much appreciated. I bought the app and all the iap to support the development, but I don't want that to send the message that I'm into this app because of third-party sounds. Also, effects for the slots are going to step this up to the next-level again. Great app.

  • Is there any way to record an app into Blocs or do I have to record in audioshare or Aum and import as a file?

You can make Blocs the output in audiobus and that way you can record any app straight into Blocs.

We just tested it again on an iPad 3, iOS8.4 and couldn't see any issues? Do let us know if you find anything specific though.

We hope to get this out within a few weeks. We've got it working now, and it is pretty exciting.

Not having much joy with the other thread, so thought I'd post a variant here, just in case. Does anyone know of a simple method - with or without extra hardware - to play Logic sounds via an iRig keyboard from a Mac, into Blocs Wave on an iPad?

Hey @Nathan, the way I do this is either:

    1) Record it in Logic and email the file to audio share, then into Blocs Wave
.. (We're soon going to release Open-In to allow direct importing from anywhere, of single and multiple files)
    2) Use my itrack dock and my iPad Connect the physical outputs of logic (like is a hardware synth) into the itrack dock inputs and record direct into Blocs Wave.
... A bit like in the video below.

Thank you for this! Zooming in to create finer slices is amazing with longer loops,,, so many more pads! Having an optionable choke between pads would be tight.

  • I'm surprised that Blocs Wave is not further up the music sales chart on the store. It really is a bargain :)

  • The slicer is just so much fun. And link is a godsend. Had so much fun jamming on 2 different ipads. I just wish I had a portable way to record both of them together lol.

Yes that's what I want. Separate record out of all blocs so I can record a jam. I love that they did separate export out, but I just can't get my groove going arranging in a DAW. Jamming with Blocs is just so much fun :)
