My chopped and desktop'd Juno. Still my biggest piece of gear. I'd love a DeepMind in a smaller footprint.
That looks excellent, you can always tell a real analogue, rainforest's shrink in fright
cool pic gburks, did my microkorg similiar.
so where do you guys think the Deepmind12 is going to land first, if you didn't wanna get caught up in minilogue limbo hell where would you purchase a d12 from?
Where are you?
Sweden?
Just go to some Swedish online store and make sure they have a one month return policy...
The big music houses do that.
Then you can try it out with the rest of your stuff and see if it fits in or not.
Los Angeles
usually deal with sweet water but they've not been faster than anyone else recently
There are so many studios in L.A.,
Sure there must be a lot of music stores around ...
Not everybody is buying from Amazon ...

oh yeah, there are allot of stores around, but they were completely dry when the minilogue came out, I was lucky to get the last one, after which it took forever for them to get anymore. Will just have to luck out again
I guess the behringer stuff is made in China too, if a ship sinks on its way it can have the production of a year onboard ...
The little korg boxes were hard to get in Europe for quite some time because of that.
That makes the AppStore so cool, ah I feel like I want a new toy, click and its there ready to use.
The editor looks nice 0:50 ~ 1:10
There is patch morphing and just read built-in wifi?!!!!!!
All quiet on the wire-wrap front?
Nice one @kobamoto. Good reminder that layering is a great way to make new sounds/expressive instruments (as Mr. @Littlewoodg was just saying in another thread re iM1)
I'm just mind boggled, can't get past this thing to reach the deep mind 12, theoretically the d12 should sound much better (if any more subjective words were ever uttered lol)
@kobamoto Did you decide on any of them yet? I've been looking at the Nord Lead 4 and A1 as well as the DM12. The A1 doesn't have proper ADSR, less knobs to tweak, but at the end of the day it might not actually matter (I haven't tried one so I wouldn't know). Both synths sounds amazing though, and being able to assign the mod wheels/morph stuff to multiple destinations is a huge plus. The joystick on the Analog Keys is more fun the joystick I had when I was 6 years old and played Sex Games on a Commodore 64 (just sayin..)
All that said, I wasn't prepared for the DM12 release over here the other week, so I panicked and bought it.
Here's the remote control app. Should be available very soon.
I gotta say I'm curious about the VR thing they're doing for the DM12, will be interesting to see if they can pull it off. I hope they release some VR glasses with a Behringer price tag as well. Not that I could afford it anytime soon anyways.
kind of , my head leans towards the d12 but in my dreams I hear the A1. the shortcomings of the a1 don't seem to bother me, having compared it with the L4 so many times and strangely the L4 just isn't the way to go for me personally, but the A1 just fits me like a very warm slipper lol.... I think I'm going to wait a while for the d12 and get the desktop model when I've recovered from spending this years rent on last years presents.
how are you liking the d12, it looks like such an ambitious instrument?
It's still on its way, should be here tomorrow, but it's been snowing quite a bit the last 24hrs and I got a message that packages might be delayed. And there's no postal service on Friday (thanks Jesus, good job! )
The Nords gotta wait till next winter before I can even start looking at those again, unless I just end up not getting along with the DM12 and decide to sell. Dreams and warm slippers are usually really good indicators when deciding on a synth tho lol
Uli Behringer posted on GearSlutz earlier that the iOS app will be released next week.
He also mentioned that they are working on a cloud service where people can upload and share presets. I'm hoping it works directly on the unit as it has Wi-Fi, but i got no idea, hadn't heard about it before his post.
Got it today, haven't had a chance to try it yet tho
I'm not jealous!
looks amazing
How do you feel about the Deepmind so far Chris?
the A1 is finally in the mail, only downer in my mind is the lack of aftertouch which is one of the things I like about the d12, gotta give it to ber, they throw in everything + the kitchen sink.
but how do you feel about it without the fx?
Finally took the plunge and ordered a 12D, expecting it on Friday. Couldn't resist after the $300 price drop , it was a hard choice between the OP-1 and Deepmind at the original price, but that definitely made things simple.
Anyone have any advice on learning resources specific to this synth? (aside from the manual ) .. I don't mind paying for online video tutorials if it's quality instruction. I'm pretty good at the basics with software synths but I'd like to go to the next level with the DM.
Damn, that’s a tempting price. I’ve talked myself out of the Deepmind a few times due to menu diving, but $599 makes it harder.
Same here , I've been back and forth on it for the last year , but after the price drop and watching YT videos of it all weekend, seeing how intuitive it is to program, I finally broke down. GAS kicking in big time right now, as I just added a neutron to the shopping spree as well, figured I'd make the most of it before I talk myself out of it.
I'll probably skip a lot of the menu diving and take advantage of the ipad editor -- seems very well laid out from the few minutes I've toyed around with it.
p.s. I just now noticed another online music store is running a package deal on the keyboard version, $699 & comes with 2x midi cables, 2x 1/4 balanced, expression pedal and keyboard stand. I might have gone for that had I not already ordered the desktop version from SW, but probably best I didn't as space is at a premium in my tiny studio, & already have enough keys. Probably going to end up using the expression + sustain as CV input from eurorack in the future anyway.
In Australia a Deepmind 12 is Aud $ 1379 and a Deepmind 12 D is $1329. both best price on the bay !
How does that work?
ProAudioStar is the place with the $699 package deal for the keyboard DM12 .. I could have sworn it included two pedals when I looked last night, but apparently only 1, an expression pedal. Still an amazing deal.
p.s. Jes, ProAudioStar is located in NYC and apparently they ship internationally. Out of curiosity, I just looked up what it'd cost to ship a generic package from NY to AUS, 12″ X 6″ X 6″, 20 lbs is apparently 124.4 USD ...guessing it would be more like $200 for a package the size of the DM, and I'm not sure about import /custom fees and the like.
The exchange rate for Aud $1379 = $992.88 U.S. Dollars., so it might be cheaper to have it shipped there than buying local, though not by a whole lot I'd imagine. Maybe worth looking into if you're looking to buy.
Yes it sounds like a very awesome synth, and I guess Im just exercising a bit of GAS...
Thanks for your research.
unfortunately, we have a newly introduced 10% gst tax on all imports now ( previously only on items above $1000) so the old buy overseas option is less of an incentive than it used to be. However a Trip to NYC, now, thats a nice fantasy....
