I got it ,i like it .But im not sure all the french phonems are here .And the german (i speak a little) is strange too .I must dig it or go back on a vocoder or auto tune ...Is it the same than desktop ?
I had to quote again just to see how far it can go. Sorry fellas, I've had a few
It's beautiful!
Too many quotes and we could stare into infinity.
As the bishop said to the actress…
Psychotropic wonderment !!!
Not only that, how long 'till we crash the server???
Only one way to find out!
Strangeways here we come. To quote.
Do you realise how many posts needed only to explain how to let a robot say /f/ah/ck//!
I give up, my fundamental rule should have held: never buy on day 1.
I want to make music, not study phonetics. Asked refund
New update of my WaveMapper bank

Thanks - hope for some time later to delve.
Feels like I am really getting somewhere with Phonem. Bit of a learning curve but this is a very capable app which can produce some incredible sounds and definitely not just vocals.
That’s not very fair on the system — it wasn’t faulty.
Between the options were "it does not work as I thought" and "I prefer to do it", so do not patronise me about that, please
Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.
Agree. I think it's a keeper. I think if I put in the hard work, this is capable of some wonderful sounds.
I believe it to be very deep, but pretty unique, mastering it will be challenging, but rewarding. Then you get to saunter outside to microphones, with iPad, in the company of pot piggies, like Jedi Master WP.
For those with MiniMapper on iPhone, this set will "open in" that beauty too
Thanks @Fruitbat1919
It's sinking in steadily. Seems it's about getting them envelopes to do what you want with the 'voweltable' and getting the excitation levels just right. Lots of small tweaks to get the sound just right. Will take a while to get a good bank of sounds going lol
No probs. I enjoy making sounds in WaveMapper and WaveGenerator. Just got to get to grips with Phonem now.
It's buyer beware and anyone can request a refund for an app if it doesn't meet their needs.
I prefer to learn about an app before purchasing and have only requested a refund once.
...
This is my very first one. As I said, I always avoid day 1, but such an hype there has been for this app that I got it without waiting.
My fault. If I had read even one half of the posts in this thread, my conduct would have been different
I'm bored already. When is the next synth coming out?
...just kidding! I've been waiting for this day for a long time. > @Littlewoodg said:
And, you can run minimapper on your iPad alongside wavemapper for multiple voices. But minimapper is crashy.
I don't think the app was hyped, it seemed people were excited about Phonem because of the experience with the other apps and work Wolfgang Palm has done.
I would say keep it and when you have time, do some programming. It's not that hard to get good result that would be difficult to achieve with other apps.
First thing I did was create a favourite folder and copy over all the decent presets for examples and a place to start. Deleted all the stupid and useless (my opinion) speech presets. The Markus Stadelmann presets are particularly good places to start.
Then think of the Phonems as just Waves in a row, similar to a single row wave table. You can select and alter each segment and choose how you want the travel. The six envelopes are key to 'playing those waves'.
Then get to know what you can do with the excitation for each phonem.
Yes there is lots more, but you can get mileage out of those few settings for now
The excitement and hype surrounding a forthcoming app release, was one of the things I missed about this forum. That and the inevitable disappointed buyers, bug reports, and refund requests a week or so later.
I'm saving this one for my birthday next week, but what's attracting me to the app is the sound of the thing - from what I've heard it's unique, and rich sounding.
As you are an elder from the Planet Grumpoid I am going to wait until you have officially passed around the sun again and will then look forward to your assessment etc.
It'll be the usual initial giddy over-excitement, followed by raging anger that it isn't working properly, followed by a barely audible admission of user error on my part.
