Definitely worth it though, the sounds this thing can produce are amazing

Yeah I can see the potential. I haven't got his other apps so it's a bit of a learning curve at the moment :)

@MonzoPro have you listed all programs in the program browser, because I had a similar thing happen, almost every change you make to a program it re-saves with an iteration number, I also created a new bank to save my final patch, then I deleted all the iterations.

Yeah I listed those and had a browse through. I picked one I liked, made some changes and then did a 'save as'. It's saved my new patch perfectly, but a couple of other patches (that I didn't save or change) are now silent. They seem to have my 'signature' assigned to them, even though I didn't (as far as I'm aware) make any changes to them.

There seems to be different elements to each patch, maybe they're interconnected in some way. I've seen others in this thread voice confusion, so I guess it's just a case of knuckling down with some tutorials.

ok....the patch I created and saved last night, that still sounded great when I reopened it....just opened it now and there's no sound...nothing.....ohhh

  • Sooner or later I will get Phonem too as I've just about got the grips on how WaveGenerator really works when saving patches and wavetables. The rest has allways been pretty clear to me :)

I'm happy with the rest, and I've made some lovely sounding patches - but the saving and filing system is just weird.

PPG Wavegenerator got a 'fix' that asks for saving the wave-table under a new name if it has been modified when saving the patch. Factory wavetables can not be over-written (but can be copied even using the same name to add to the confusion) but user wave-tables can which can cause havoc if multiple patches are using the same wave-table...

I've grown fond of the synthesis philosophy of Wolfgang Palm has so I'll probably end up getting both Phonem and WaveMapper pretty soon... (Need to load some iTunes credits first).

I have a real fondness for the PPG apps, warts and all. It wouldn't be a PPG without some quirks lol

Ahhhh.....now that could be causing the thing.

I've bought this app at the wrong time. It requires a level of dedication and study that I'm not able to offer at the moment (buying/selling a house, people dying etc.), so maybe I'll put it to one side for a while until I can give it the time it deserves.
