I purchased Fluxpad and it's rather fun, however I now have so many apps that it's rather difficult for me to distinguish them all, let alone understand them all and use them all to their potential. Oh well, I am sure that I read somewhere that more = better.
@puppychumful
Lots of apps mean you can spend ages ordering them all into neat rows and boxes. O how anul I am synth, synth, synth, drum, synth synth synth.....
Fun app despite the odd bugs. I've experienced the deleted notes still sounding and some sample browsing issues.
One big feature request though
Cheers.
Blocs is def. a weapon in the war at this point...far more than just the loop player I first thought it...
I so wish you could trim the audio. The record in is very elegant.
+1 trim would be good, the recording in is really well handled though.
Well...Just bought it, and with my other apps running thru IAA / AUM, it's just glitches, tempo moving all the time, crash, no control on start/stop thru IAA...
Even the mail into the app to report bugs crash the app !
Any valid email address to start a discussion with the developers ?
Hmm...
I reported exactly the same problem, which happened when I plugged in my midi controller....
NO clock was being sent out. FP just goes crazy...uncontrollable, but not many crashes on Air 2
I wrote them a letter but got no reply so far, it's been a few days
Their address is on Dev. Site
I was expecting at least an IAA " bar" so I can switch back n forth. But no
More and more I use it this looks like a beta and they never ask HERE...what is happening
I got on the beta for this app. Spent several hours going back and forth with the dev via email, crashing app, typing up what was going on, downloading new builds, trying over and over again, reporting back. etc. The stuff you expect when you beta test something, so no biggy.
But, when the app was launched, they didn't even give a discount or anything for the app. They couldn't even be bothered enough to reply to emails asking about the bugs, etc. and whether or not I'd get a code. Evidently, they gave other beta testers extra codes to give away at random on the this forum. Go figure.
I bought the app when it was on sale because I think it has potential, but it's definitely still buggy. There have been several beta updates in the last few days, but I can't say if they've fixed the problems because I can't be bothered to spend more time beta-testing new builds for a dev who evidently doesn't value the time beta testers spend on their app builds. So, I'll just wait until they release a non-beta to see if it's been fixed yet.
They are still working on it though. So, fingers crossed the bugs get squashed.
@soundklinik sorry I can't find any email address...
@skiphunt ok thanks for the info...Time for a refund...
I wouldn't necessarily say it's time for a refund. The app's stableness is very close, but still a little buggy. And they ARE working on new builds. I'm peeved because they didn't seem to appreciate the time I spent working through pre-launch bugs, but I bought the app anyway because it's a cool app and they're still ironing out the bugs.
I only mention this to let you know there's a new build coming for sure and there have been 3 beta updates in the last few days. I just haven't tried them because I'm now a paying customer and don't want to waste my time beta-testing it now. Fingers crossed, but I'm not bailing on them despite the minor irritation.
@skiphunt no problem and thanks, I love Elastic Drums, and it's very stable, so I don't think the all company is evil, I just hate when there's no communication possibility, no mail, no forum, no contact here as we advertise for them freely.
Just a mention somewhere "known bugs, we're doing this or that, we are aware of what's going on"
That's it. If you don't, you're app must be rock solid, because i paid the app not for beta testing it.
And it's not minor irritation, the app is just useless as it is !
Or in standalone, which is not good for my needs.

Thanks !
Wow, I don't find it useless at all. I think there are definite quirks; and the ghost notes that remain after deletion are annoying but easily solvable, if you save regularly. I think it's unique and holds great promise.
@ExAsperis99
With the mad tempo as I have now, I can't even reach the bugs you're pointing out...
ha!
I guess I haven't really tried to use it with other apps.
But now that you mention it: is there a way to trigger FluxPad scenes in Modstep, say?
@ExAsperis99 tried but failed at the moment.
Tried to send clock, but FluXpad always playing. Erratic tempo with Link (variations of around 5 bpm +/- in a sinusoidal way...) it seems to stop sometimes, but every Link cycle it restarts automatically.
Also glitches and crash after 2 minutes of use, without loading anything but the init samples...
Running on IOS 9.X.latest , on a very stable iPad pro (10 apps running, 20% of use of CPU)
It needs HUGE stability improvements...
I had an answer from the developper:
Thanks for the feedback and sorry to hear you're having issues with fluxpad. Most of the IAA / AUM issues you describe might come from bugs with the MIDI implementation. Did you try your AUM setup without MIDI running into the iPad? I see in your video that this is probably no workable option for you but would be interesting to know if you experience the same issues without MIDI, since I cannot reproduce them here.
We're constantly working on improving the app, so I will take your comments into our next release. Well actually the one after that, because one is currently in Review by Apple.
Best,
Jan
I'll test more...See what's the upgrade brings...At least he answered very quickly...
Very good to hear.
Now, back to me:
Is there a way trigger FluxPad scenes in another midi sequencer, like Modstep? It does not have midi learn, alas.
@crony
I know they are working on fixes. I have been swapping between the test copy and the store version while I get ready to write a review.
I'm not going to discuss it further here other than to say, I know they are trying to get things sorted
No. Best to record out and into a more suitable partner app, methinks.
Yeah, I was afraid of that.
Sent it to blocs wave, but you can't quantize scenes there, either! I've really gotten used to the perfect timing of modstep clip launching. I guess I could send to Cubasis and just copy and paste a few minutes...
I've experienced crashes when starting from external MIDI clock (Cubase PC).
Also, the metronome seems to always be active when pressing play while slaved to MIDI clock.
Look forward to updates to hopefully squash these bugs.
Still love this comment and use it as a stick to beat my whiny self with when needed
