ToneBoosters Compressor is great, but it has no way to save presets and also no way to select the sidechain source.

Next version can save/load user presets for the Toneboosters Compressor and DeEsser. The next version is uploaded to Apple and is expected to be released in the next days.

@dwrae i too been getting high cpu warning Not many plugins and the warning comes up when in cycle mode Hits the right locator during loop play mode then the cpu high warning message pops up
Look at the cpu display bottom right its very low so not sure why high cpu warning - ipad air2/ iOS 11.2.5

The CPU usage is being calculated wrongly at the point of the loop. I'll fix it. For the moment, you can safely switch off the 'Stop on CPU overload' setting.

    Ok thanks for info

Does AEMS support AU Midi out such that I can utilise Rozeta with it?

    Yes.

  • Audio Evolution Mobile Studio 2.0.6 for iOS released:

    • CPU usage wasn’t calculated correctly on loop which could cause erroneous ‘CPU usage too high’ messages. Solved.
    • Added Presets button to Toneboosters Compressor and DeEsser.
    • Saving a project with a non-Western character set would cause an exception. Solved.
  • Excellent!! Did you ever find a solution to the bug that affects the first part of a midi clip when recording midi with count in or metronome on?

  • Also, I think I’ve found another bug that has been there for a long time. There doesn’t seem to be a way to scroll mixers on the mixer screen. For example, if I had 10 tracks, I would not be able to scroll to see channel 10.

I replied to your message a couple of days ago asking for an offline conversion as you suggested, you probably missed it! Can you please send me an email with a sequence of steps to reproduce the problem please?

Yes, I believe you are right—I didn’t see a response. I will be happy to take it offline! Thanks!

I read that that is what I had to do, but I couldn’t get it to work. Could you do a quick double check on this? Thanks!

It works but I find I’m always accidentally changing a parameter when I do it.

Interesting! Why do you think the parameters get accidentally changed?

It’s probably my fat fingers but I scroll on the bit just below the faders and sometimes catch them by mistake. I’m on iPhone so there’s less room than iPad obvs.

Also if you use the black area on top left to the Next button?

  • Ok, I figured it out and can confirm that the scroll works—I was trying to use the black area at the bottom of the screen, not the black area at the top of the screen.

  • I started trying to use this again, and it's very laggy and unresponsive to touches. I checked CPU usage and buffer is set to 512. what happened?

Not sure, are you running 2.0.6?

I never realised I could scroll there :)

Is there room for a scroll bar there? Or next/prev buttons? Because there’s no scrolling animation it’s kinda confusing scrolling in steps.

It would look ugly ( a scrollbar).

Whatever it is, some sort of scroll indicator would be good. This is one of the only bits of the app that I had to go to the manual to figure out.

A dialog should pop up the first time when you are in the mixer view and there are more tracks than being displayed, explaining how to scroll (unless I'm mistaken and it only shows on Android, I'll check).

  • @dwrae Cheers for cpu fix All seems ok now

  • I’m thinking about getting replicant 2 but it says it needs a host that provides transport information, whatever that is!

Does AEM provide transport information on auv3?

Ace, thanks for letting me know! Is replicant 2 the one to get for glitches? Does it do squarepusher type stuff?

Yes, it's the one for stutters and repeats.
Also have a look at Effectrix. It's four times the price and does not even come as an AUv3 (IAA and AudioBus only) but it can do much more and also works as a standalone FX unit that can be synced with external gear, in case you need it.

Thanks. Next on the list. Been trying to figure out how to do that stuff with resampling but this will save some time!

  • Does anyone know if AEM supports Bluetooth midi? Thinking about changing my mpk mini 2 for a Bluetooth one.
