  • I had no idea the 3 gadgets were going to be free!. I was ready to sell a kidney or something.

    So... same for audiobus 3?

So far, export to Ableton Live MIDI is probably my favourite new feature.

Okay, this is killer. Looks like I'll actually be using Gadget again.

So, iM1 is on sale. Aren’t Abu Dhabi and Bilbao cheaper than usual as well?
Doesn’t sound like the Mac version is ready just yet, but it’s already the opening of the “Season of Threes”. Gadget 3 is first, Audiobus 3 should be second, and BeatMaker 3 will eventually come out.

Looking at it from Sweden I'd say Gladstone and Madrid are approximately $5 off. I'm saying that as I have yet to purchase them and waited for this launch, and they indeed look cheaper than last week.

WTF! Mr Hell... Go and get both Madrid and Gladstone now, because they are fabolous!

And, I'm glad that I was wrong about the release date of Gadget 3.0... Hooray!

  • For some reason I can't update. It's not showing up. I'm on an iPad mini 2.

  • Basically moving audio clips around is wonky as hell. But I sort of expected it to do nothing more than hold pre trimmed, already in the same tempo, audio loops.

I do like Recife though. Wasn't even excited about it. Some very nice sounds. Maybe I'll throw some Recife beats into KRFT or something.

I am off to tell my pillow that I'm missing something about this moving things on the 'timeline'. If there really is no solution I think it can only be a very deliberate pig in a poke, and I say that despite my fondness as regards bacon....

Does sound like most gadgets are on sale as well.

  • Has anyone try the uploading to allihoopa? Can u download other people's tracks for remixing lyk in figure.
I'm at work so unable to try

IPad mini 2 here and no problems updating.....hopefully no problems will occur upon inspection...but first rest

What iOS version? Maybe you need to update? Or maybe it's still not in all stores (it takes a while before it hits all countries)

  • AudioShare is a major plus, glad they added that. I was hoping we would also get the beat/bars/time display they showed on the Mac version, I've been missing that forever, but unfortunately it's not there :-(

Looking forward to taking this for a spin, hopefully there are other small surprises other than what's in the description - there usually are :-)

  • No resampling in the audiogadgets :-( you can only select physical inputs, not other gadget tracks. If only they added audiobus as input it would be awesome.

I guess you have to go through AudioShare.

However we now have loop points in the editor, so you can start playing or recording from and too any bar :+1:

    +1 Big improvement

I see Recife has an even more finicky pitch knob than Bilbao (good luck landing on a semitone!). Sometimes it seems like parts of music apps are designed by peeps who've never made music before ... Or folks who have like five drum samples in their entire user collection -- what's with the continued lack of folder importing in apps (via iCloud document picker or Dropbox)?!

I feel as though this is not 100% for this chapter.

Something feels "missing", is that what i mean?

Something doesn't flow here. There is no 'big picture of the new features of Gadget", just toppings and flavors, no new structural movement.

I see "INPUT" and I am plugging in Roland Hardware or Pocket Operators and looking for them and then its like, huh?

And what's with the "guitar amp"?

Unless I can iaa geo shred or steel guitar, that seems awful myopic for a primary EDM application?

    What gives?

Personally, I am aware of a very new cool app from an unnamed company that will be ruling my audio loop arrangement.

I hope to see an IAP to finish this package for Gadget to make it have a real difference for me personally.

Just because it's called a "guitar amp" doesn't mean you can only put guitars in there ;)

In fact, guitars are the LAST thing that should be put in there. Drums, vocals, thunder, synths, a speech, movie dialogue, Troublemaker riffs .... you get the gist. But I do see where you're coming from; it is a bit off-center. But considering the acoustic drums, electric bass, and other non-EDM-specific gadgets that exist, it kind of makes more sense............................? :/

  • I'm quite sure we'll see incremental updates popping up :)

I would have liked to see the option to select a Gadget-Track as audio-input as well as being able to export idividual scenes for quick 're-sampling'.

The AudioShare Import/Export is a nice touch even if everything can be not huffled that way.(It would have been handy to be able to export all tracks as a zip-file to AudioShare).

I do feel that proper iCloudDrive support and 'ShareSheet' is not too far away.

It's a nice solid update, now let us all hope the Korg starts to polis the grid-editor with more tools :)

    So... same for audiobus 3?

No, Audiobus 3 is going to be a separate app. It's not a free update.

I can't suss it out either, seems unnecessarily clunky.

However AudioShare support will mean I use the other Gadgets more, so maybe I'll start doing more with it. Maybe.

Last night I was cursing Gadget because importing a two-bar loop into Abu Dhabi was such a drag, and I wake up to this. Hurrah. I don't mind the inevitable limitations, at last I can bring drum loops into the app.

  • I've gained back half a gb storage from updating :p

Don't know if I'm imaging it, but the knobs seem slightly less finicky

how did you do that? I think I lost several 100 MB of storage ...

  • edited March 2017

Nice little "duplicate scene" button in arrange view now, just next to the Add Scene button - saves a click by first going to function and the clicking duplicate just to make a new version of the last scene. I'll be using that a lot as it fits perfectly with how I use Gadget.

I wonder what other small improvements Korg have added :-)

All in all I think it's a great update, especially considering it's free. While we may not have gotten everything we hoped for, I think the previously unknown new features are the greatest additions:

    • AudioShare support (this is a game changer if you ask me)
    • Loop points in editor (will save SOOO much time)
    • Duplicate scene in arrange (also a nice little time saver)

I look forward to what other small improvements we find.

What I would like in the future:

    • Other audio-inputs (Minimum other gadget tracks or master track, but AB would be killer)
    • Beats/Bars/Time display in the transport bar (already in the Mac version according to their screenshots)
    • Folders / Better sample management
    • iOS filepicker support

I think some updates free up storage that has been used for temp files. It's happened to me on the last two updates. Either that or some programs are losing a bit of 32bit fat?

ugh - i realize it is not only for guitars.

I guess with all the other "amps" i can plug(aka Connnect) my guitar or input to thru them.

It is more the presentation that I question. As exhibited through the remaining points of my post I guess I wasn't clear.

And a "real" full screen size for the gadgets synth and their keyboards ( like module I think it's unplayable) on the iPad version. Why are there those 2 big black bands when playing The synth in full screen ? Is the iPhone's universality guilty ?
This is my only reproach , Gadget is marvelous .

    That's brilliant!

  • Right, so it was launched in the middle of the night for me, so haven't tested audio recording yet, but am I right in guessing that I actually can record audio over several scenes (just like I can do with midi), but that I can't copy/paste in a clip that is longer than a scene? Anyone tested?

  • Not sure if mentioned yet but Wavestation, Odessei and MODULE all on sale this month too!!
