Recording feels a bit cranky to me. Does it only record audio if you do a cold start?
Seems I don't get a count in either, am I forgetting something? ( 1 bar count-in is set in the preferences )
For me its all about allihoopa. Thats the best thing for me.
Tell us more about it - how does it work? What are the benefits? - What can you do with it?
Allihoopa is the music sharing and collaboration offspring of Propellerheads. Started as Discover Platform connected to Propellerheads Figure and Reason then made into its own company.
Basically you can use and remix everything on this site, you can share, review, collaborate on music together. Everything you publish there can be used by others, even commercially. You as well have the right to do this.
Its an incredibly easy and open take on music making and sharing.
It supports:![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Take - for Singers
Figure - for go figure
Reason
Gadget
Soundtrap or what it was what its called
Love it. Its tremendous, you should try it![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
I too am curious about this. To me it looks like a closed community where I can't even send people a proper profile link unless the receiver of said link also has an account, so it is useless for spreading music outside said community. Also I can't use it with any and all apps, only with a select handful of apps. Are those two statements correct? What does it do great?
Nope its public here is mine: https://allihoopa.com/imo81
Re sampling in Bilbao and Abu Dhabi is now possible! Exported tracks show up as user audio to be loaded into the samplers. Samples and therefore presets can be shared over cloud sync!!
Right, so does that mean I sign away the rights to my own songs too then? Not trying to be overly negative, but am wondering about that part in a slightly worried way.
The list of apps it supports is another major drawback, especially considering it is almost impossible to use most of those apps in collaboration with other apps on iOS. Figure is a typical example. I love what it could be. It isn't though. It basically means someone else is dictating how I should work/collaborate/share, and they couldn't care less if I created the greatest most shareable tune ever if I created said tune in a tool that isn't supported.
It could well be that Allihoopa and I aren't compatible and that the fault might be with me and my view on things and how a good collaboration/showcase service should work, but right now it feels more scary than inclusive and I feel it is there mainly to sell more of the supported software (which I can understand) than it truly is there to promote collaboration and showcase.
Cool, I have already set up an account in anticipation of Gadget 3.0, will have to look into it and see how it works. I guess it will take some time before we see Gadget projects there. I wonder how the integration is?
What are the file sharing formats? for example. I don't suspect I can import a Reason project into Gadget![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
But I applaud Korg for expanding the sharing and collaboration options.
Hi there,
not quite, you grant every member the same rights to your songs. Allihoopa does feature whole tracks from more experienced users but that's the ticket. If you want to be part of it thats what you give, you can take out much more however.
Currently unsure which of the supported app's drops you can open in Gadget, I suspose eventually all because the drops nothing more than a stereo sample of what you loaded to allihoopa. No seperate tracks as of yet, to keep it simple I guess.
Oh, I see - I was hoping you could share projects, that would be much more exciting. From what it sounds like, it's basically Gadget Cloud or Soundcloud but where you release the rights to anything published and anything can be downloaded by other members?
Cool for sharing ideas I guess, however I was hoping for a more collaborative possibilities than just being able to use other peoples samples ;-)
Still a step up though, especially if you can add samples to Bilbao and Abu Dhabi for cutting up and mangling - could be a great resource for new raw materials.
Gadget: Chapter 3. Audio tracks.
Lots of restrictions in their use so far but I'm sure it's not the end of the Gadget story and a very welcome feature..
I just did a test recording from AUM routed via an iconnectaudio4 into zurich and seemed to work well.
That has 'always' been possible when doing the export to 'iTunes'.
Now let's hope Korg adds an option to optionally to export one 'scene' instead of the whole project.
(Sure, It's possible to trim the audio in AudioShare but anyway).
A proper 'keyboard sampler' is still M.I.A. in Gadget...
Yeah i mean you kind of go physical there with an external box, would be catastrophic if that didn't work.![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
Does anyone use Sidechain? Is it work ? As for it has big delay
![](https://forum.audiob.us/uploads/editor/0b/otxt7mbpt30s.png)
I completely agree and its what makes it so easy to get interesting stuff going in Ableton, the ease of manipulating samples either by loading a loop that syncs to the timeline or loading a simple one shot sample and spreading it across the keys adding a little reverb and delay and your already on your way to building some chords or melodies or whatever.
A bit of a non event this update, might checkout the Mac version for the vst integration
True, and I would probably not use it much, preferring AUM recording workflow and then import from audioshare but nice to know it's working. I'm sure they'll give in one day and add audiobus recording![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Really needed some sort of time stretch function or multiple audio samples in one timeline to shine
Imho
Seems like a bug that the transport bar is missing - didn't that use to be there in full screen mode?
Otherwise it's pretty useless ;-)
I use it, it was one of the things I was hoping they would add but since it was introduced I wasn't able to make it sound like I'm used to with other sidechaining compressors. I thought the decay was to long on minimum setting, good job with that image showing it's a delay. I'd love it very much if they fixed this.
You can make pitched instruments in Bilbao. Raise or lower the knobs by increments of 100 for a semitone. This can be done with short taps for increments of 10. With the knobs set on rotary it can be done rather quickly.
The best sampler app award goes to Caustic 3.2 however.
Especially considering it's got Link support.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Anyways it will be nice to follow the 3.x updates to Gadget
Time stretch is missed but will probably come eventually. Gadgets always been restricted, for some that's a good thing but for me the workflow has never quite satisfied. I'm hoping Modstep is next in line for audio recording/clips.
Nice update overall, of course there's some room for improvements but also some cool sounding kits in Recife, some nice new effects in Rosario like reverse delay for example, Animoog sounding nice inside Gadget thanks to Zurich and Rosario and the looping any section of a scene feature is most welcome.
FYI I have created a thread for collection new features as we find them, so you don't have to go through 100's of post to find the news![ ](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
It's here: https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/17898/gadget-3-0-un-documented-new-features
The latest thing I found is that loop start/end points are set PER loop, making arranging a lot more powerfull (since you can now select which bars of a copied loop you want to use, without resorting to expanding or deleting bars and copying notes).
I did not try it yet (I updated just before leaving to work)... But what I read in this thread is making me really sad... I was desperatly waiting for this update almost only because I really thought it would be possible to record from other apps in Gadget (via IAA/AB)... And it seems that it's not possible... So disapointed right now !
I think it's time for me to test KRFT and/or Caustic ;-)
I'm thinking you could use AUM to record straight in to AudioShare using LINK to be controll Gadget - then you can paste directly from AudioShare into Zurich.
Not as simple as recording directly in Gadget, but it might work?
I was out last night!!!
Just downloaded.
All working as expected with audio tracks!
I'll try that tonight... It might be a solution, thanks man ;-)
So you did not expect to be able to record from other iOS apps and/or other Gadget tracks ?
