    I'm here!

Right now I'm trying to finish an AUM update (waiting for some needed SDK changes to make it compatible with Audiobus3 state saving), then I'd like to get on with an AudioShare update. I agree that some simple editing stuff should be added to AudioShare (add silence, delete region, split file, perhaps merge files, etc). Then I'd like to get on with AUv3 versions of AUFX, etc. And at the same time also working on new stuff for Gestrument, and being a dad, and make some music, and build some hardware synths, and... well I hope you see why I'm so "slow" these days! ;)

Hello hello, great dev of AS (probably my central music app on iPad) ;-)
Do you think it would be possible to have a function to automatically chop a sample in a given number of "same duration" chops... It will probably seem useless to many people, but on my side this would be an awesome time savior (currently when I want to chop a loop file in 8 or 16 sub chops, I have to send the sample to BM2, chop it to file there and then export all chops back to audioshare (using dropbox for example)... This way you would make AS a real "Bilbao Feeder" on my side (sorry if this is not something you which to implement, I already tried to annoy the blocs wave dev team with a similar request, but with no success...).

  • Pretty sure you could do that in ReSlice

    Anyone else having tempo issues?

If I change my tempo in one saved song, the tempo of all my other saved songs will now load at that tempo!

    Ableton Link?

Yeah seems to be. If Ableton Link is on (with no other linked apps), loading a new song, keeps the last tempo. This is a right pain.

Even Ableton Live had this behaviour until they updated it to keep Link disabled when loading a project by default. Would be handy if Gadget did the same.

I like the way that blocs and launchpad handle this, if you open a project while connected to a link session it asks you if you want to change to the project tempo or keep the current link tempo.

  • AUM asks also :)

    As does Loopy.

So what's so revolutionary about the new "redesigned Bilbao" ?
I was expecting something else. The sounds are nice though. I just can't seem to understand why the heck they didn't do a zoomed sample view. that would be so useful.

I've only had a brief look, but from what I can tell it is the inclusion of both looped and one shot playback. Not really revolutionary (I suppose loops are revolutions ? ).

Can't see no loop control. Only note repeat but that's not technically loop

  • If you scroll down the samples you will find loops,
I had recorded a note that was the length of my 2 bar pattern and the drum loop played in time and repeated each time the pattern looped. I thought this meant there was a loop mode and the loops were playing along in tempo with the song.
It seems this was pure luck, :| if I try now the loops do not play in time with the tempo you have to manually adjust the pitch to change the playback length :|

  • After some time with this 3.0 update, I have to say:

The New Audio Gadgets + AudioShare = Victory.

Battle. Gadget still has some fidgety things going on, like linear dial movement where there are a small number of increments (like IFX Decimation Bit control), and it would be killer to get the ability to launch clips separately from scenes.

Still this was a major battle, for me at least, to get Gadget a permanent spot on my home page. So nice to be able to dump audio from AudioShare into Zurich and Abu Dhabi for FX automation and slicing.
