  • @Alex fox not sure why KRFT passed me by until now - I've just had an incredible few hours. This incredible app oozes quality and provokes instant creation and enjoyment. Well done :D

Interesting. From the little I know/have seen of your style I would have thought this would absolutely be a fit for you...

  • Ok. I just left my very first app review EVER, and that's with two plus years of ios.

@Alex fox , I am real thankful that you honored my no quantise option for launching cells. Any chance the same option would be possible for groups? My work around currently is to stack cells, but that makes editing the desired cell tedious cause i then have to unstack them :-)

I never want to leave the house. I need to find me a new job where I can sneak some ipad sessions in on the clock.

Absolutely, well I'm in now :)

  • Wow!!! Surfaces are rolling in!
Thanks all!! Great talent they sound amazing!!

Would love to see something similar to this implemented to this already truly amazing app! I may be biased though because my last name is Kraft....

Is that like a timeline but every tap plays the next note?

Finally picked this up today. What an inspiring app. Seems like it can go really deep. I like the tip of being able to 'open in' from Blocs and other apps. Now I need a good wav editor with loop points.

If this app ever did a midi track out IAP, I'd buy in a heartbeat. That could very well be The Answer for me.

Where is the 'open in' option? I've tried this from Blocs, and checked KRFT but it doesn't appear on the Blocs export list. I've tried doing it via 'export session mix' and the general export wav option in Blocs but KRFT is not on the list. It's not there when I try and export files from AudioShare as well.

Sorry, my apologies... I really meant the 'import' from Dropbox, AudioShare... is a breeze..

  • I only just got around to messing around with it and wow it's fantastic. Very intuitive and creative

The only thing i'm missing (or maybe it's there and i missed it) is an init patch for the synths as the tweaking is somewhat different to most of the synths i use. Then again, maybe i just need to rtfm. At any rate, great job guys. I'm thoroughly enjoying it

Thanks! I guess a simple init patch would be good. You can probably pick something from the "Simple" waves which isn't too crazy. We'd like to overhaul the synth UI at some point because it's not that exciting at the moment!

  • @Alex fox not sure why but all of my surfaces disappeared. I rebooted but they were definitely gone so deleted and reinstalled. Have you come across this before? iPad Air 2 iOS 10.2.1

  • It has a great future this app :)

I hope that itunes document files sharing is on the road map. I think all sample based apps should have this as it makes backing up and (and reducing) large samples libraries easy. I'm currently having a spring clean but with KRFT it doesn't give any info on files and whether they're currently used in a surface. Maybe it's tricky to implement but something to consider. :)

Oh dear. I've not experienced this. What version where you on before you updated to 1.4?

Can you email [email protected], easier to communicate. Hopefully we can sort it out!

  • @Alex fox no worries. I started out with 1.4 but will soon get things going again :)
I was running low on memory so cleared a big chunk now. Will let you know if any issues.

It would be good to understand what went wrong incase there is a bug. How many surfaces had you made & how many times had you opened the app since you downloaded?

This is another good reason for itunes document backup of of surfaces and samples.
I don't trust iOS and it's pretty essential for me in any app I invest time in in case of a big crash or something happening. :)

Partly but a bit more complex....pads are assigned behaviors that control parameters of other pads such as causing it to restart or jump to a set position in its sequence, or change pitch, attack....whatever you decide really. You can get some incredible results and cover a large spectrum of sound with just a few pads. This explains it pretty thoroughly...

I used the app for around four hours last night and at least the same again today (I'm addicted) therefore opened, created, saved, loaded surfaces many times and probably made 15 - 20 surfaces. Hardly anything else was running in the background - Mail etc.,

I suspect the surfaces are still there just the indexing has screwed up. Can we get you on the beta to push you a fix?

  • @Alex fox actually I think I had just saved and gone to exit surface then found everything had gone. I made some recordings which were still there so I shut the app down and opened up - still gone. OK reboot iPad and hope but no luck. All gone, strange hey.

    Done

  • The more I use this, the more excited I am for MIDI out. Once multiple note selection is available, this would turn into my go-to "DAW" replacement for iOS. I could see my workflow being: create song framework (percussion, bass, stabs, in KRFT; use MIDI to sequence favorite synths and fx from external apps; load everything into AUM, and maybe jam along with effects/drones, then mixdown.

I don't want to inundate with feature requests or anything, but I would definitely pay plenty for more fleshed out MIDI capability: Note selection, transposition options, import/export would basically replace my other MIDI apps for so many things. Other non-MIDI would-be-nice's are automation recording/editing and eventually... AU hosting! I am not asking for much more than the world here.

Basically, I guess I could see this being a DAW replacement, and what makes it more appealing to me than something like Beatmaker is that the method of performing and sequencing is so fun and intuitive. I'd hate to see the app become bloated, and I realize these are a ton of features, on top of all the stuff that others have requested.

Anyway: Great app and it's awesome to see you here on the forum helping people with possible bugs and discussing requests.

I just got to thinking how game changing this will be for people with a Novation Circuit... assigning those eight macro knobs to dials, tuning the ranges etc etc and being able to sequence/play it... dayum! I mean, plug an ipad mini or iphone right into it with one cable. CROM!

I think you'll have to come round and sort mine out for me. Tacos on us.
